I'm 38 years old and tired of being overweight... so about three weeks ago, i decided that being the disney fan that I am, what a great way to lose weight and get in shape - train for the disney princess 1/2 marathon! So most people when I told them, laughed and said "why not try a 5k first???" Well, in 3 weeks, I'm up to 2.9 miles and down 8 pounds.... not to shabby.... Now, my time isn't great as i seem to be around 15.06 - 15.20 min miles - but like i said, it's only 3 weeks in!
Anyway - i'm doing this by myself. I have mixed feelings about that but I do think (knowing me) it's probably a good thing. I know that I would feel crazy guilty if someone that was actual good at doing this went with me and I felt like I was holding them back.
I'm looking for any advice on anything - whether is running tips, where to stay tips, anything! I have NO experience running any distances. I'm 38 and was 190 (and short 5' 1) now i'm 182
Anyway - thanks in advance for any info!
