I got my bib number last night for the Philly RnR half - only 11 more days! Holy cow. Doing my last long run today before Philly (10 miles). Would love to get another one in, but I've got two races this weekend.

I didn't like runkeeper that much either. I tried it once will do it again tonight to make sure it wasn't some weird fluke thing. I started it and it ended my race after 3 seconds and told everyone I earn 13 miles/hour. I was very disappointed. Glad that happened though before I paid for Run Keeper Live.

I am so glad that others didn't like Runkeeper. So many people told me it was the best thing ever...I wasn't able to download the free version, and it was a waste of money!! I got it for doing intervals during the Disneyland Half and couldn't hear the announcements. So, I just used my Nike+ Sportband, watched the time and when I got to an hour, reset and started over so I could see the seconds again. I guess when things seem too good to be true, they really are. :headache:

Hello! I am new to this thread, but I am planning on running the Disney Princess Half Marathon! I am going to Florida for the week with my family, but I am the only one who will be running the half. My son is running the 5k, which I am CONSIDERING running with him, but I am nervous to over exert myself, as I have never ran a half marathon before! I am hoping to meet people on here so I do not feel so alone on the day of the race! Any advise from anyone would be appreciated, but I mostly want to make some buddies!

Everyone's running has been so good lately. Congrats!!

I ran my 5k on Sat with my sister and sister-in-law. We have been training 'together'. (They live in OK and I live in the KC area.) We call and e-mail to keep each other accountable. We started out together and I had already told them that I knew I couldn't keep up so to go on without me. (They are both a lot more in shape than I am so I am a lot slower than them.) When we started there was a group from the Navy behind us and they were chanting as they ran. They were awesome to listen too, but I couldn't keep up with them.

Anyway I ran most of the race by myself and way at the back, but I ran my best time (45:31) and was pleased. But the best part was after my sister and sis in law finished (39:??) they came back to the last turn on the course and waited for me. We jogged the curve and straight a-way to the finish line together. It was very sweet and emotional. My mom was crying!

It gave me the incentive I needed to keep training. We have a 10k in Nov and then the Princess!!

I need planning help. It is time that we should be making dining ressies, but I just don't know where I should eat Saturday night. Everything I read says don't do anything new the day/week before a race, but I'm sorry to say, I don't live at Disney during training, so of course I will be eating something different the night before. Where would you suggest for a nice meal? I would prefer both in park and out of park suggestions. Should I look at menus and try to duplicate a meal the night before a LR? Same goes for breakfast before the run. Obviously I won't be eating out, but if my normal breakfast before a LR is something like waffles, how in the world will I get it at the hotel?

We are doing Via Napoli the night before the race and Yachtsman the night of the race. I'm getting SO excited especially now that my meals are planned!

we are doing via napoli the night before too! i'm glad i have the ressie but i will definitely see how i feel before eating there. i read somewhere that the whole "carbo-load" thing isn't really all that necessary.

speaking of food - anyone following a good diet for running? i am doing SO poorly on the whole food intake thing. i'm on the see-food diet. if i see food, i eat it. not helping the whole, i want to lose weight, thing.

We are doing Via Napoli the night before and Le Cellier the night of. Although the carbo load isn't needed - it will be fun!

I would like info on a good runners diet as well.

Not sure exactly where we'll be the night before the race (my super friend jen is taking care of our ADRs - thank God! :worship:) But we'll be at Ohana on Sunday night!!! :cool1::cool1:

I am thinking of booking my airfare this week. I can get Milwaukee to Orlando for $175 RT, which is pretty good. I still have not booked my hotel yet. Any suggestions on which hotel to book?

I am going down Thursday-Monday. My friend who I am training with and staying with is actually leaving on Sunday. I am hoping to find some people on this site who are going solo and may want to get together for a celebration dinner on Sunday night :goodvibes

My run tonight was great. I was thinking to run 3 miles and ended up running 4.75 miles in an hour. I was so happy with that result! My son rode his bike along side me and kept me motivated. Overall, a great night!

Hi Jude! I forgot that you and Jen are running!

I registered tonight. princess:

I haven't even thought about dining reservations yet--for that matter I still need to make some more ressies for our Christmas trip! I'm a little behind the power curve. I'm going to princess with three of my sisters, none of who are big Disney people. I guess I need to get going on the dining ressies!

I'm going to be there Friday-Tuesday--coming home Tuesday night.

OMG - ADRs already!!! :surfweb:

Where is the time going, I just want to rewind or hit the "slow down" button. It seems like life is going by so fast lately!!!

Thanks for the welcome SHOCK that I have to do it!! Thank god I am off tomorrow as I now have something else to add to my list.

Ran with Mackenzie in the stroller today and all I can say is WOW. I am actually going to have my husband look at the stroller since it doesn't want to go. I realize it's been awhile since I ran with her in it and it pushed harder than our regular stroller.

That's a good price. A couple months ago I checked rates for flying out of Milwaukee and Minneapolis, they are $300+.

We are staying at POR, Thursday-Sunday. I am a newbie at all of this. Kinda learning as I go.

Good job on the run!!!

We've got reservations at Via Napoli the night before also! :cool1: I can't decide where I want to eat the night of for celebration. So many choices!!
