Will probably be at POFQ.

Does anyone know when the paraphernalia comes out. I really want a princess in training shirt for an upcoming trip?

The end of September usually is when the gear starts to come out. Just FYI - It is Champion brand and if unfamiliar with it, it isn't the highest of quality. I got it for this year and was pretty unimpressed. For the amount of money they charge for the shirts and running skirt, I would expect the same quality as my Nike running gear...it isn't even close. :( I wish Disney would pair up with Nike...

Good to know - maybe if I don't have high expectations, I will not be disappointed. I would like a shirt too, will be at WDW in October but of course too late for the W&D boo!

WooHoo:banana::banana: POR is on my short list of places to stay. :thumbsup2

This is my personal triumph too. Although I just registered on Sat so I am definitely doing it. :scared1:

Right now my short list is POR CBR and AKL. DH and I are booked for POR in Dec for our anniversary but if that trip doesn't happen I will probably go ahead and stay at AKL, if we do go to POR and love it I will go back there, if not CBR it is. I should know if we are canceling in the next week or two and will book accordingly then.

Another mom of 4!!!:banana::banana: I have three sons and one daughter - thank god!! I dont know if I could handle 3 princess :)

I cannot agree more. Champion is a second tier brand of sport wear. I really do not like the cut or wicking capability of the material. But given the markup in cost of the champion product can you imagine what a nike shirt/top would cost after disney handling?

That's really disappointing.

I do love their super high impact underwire sports bras, though...

So true!! But the ironic part is that people would probably still pay for it! :)

When I get done with a run the first thing I want to do is drink some water and the second thing I want to do is take a shower. But ... every time I take a shower soon after running I come out of the shower still sweating. I have made the water somewhat colder and still - I come out sweating. Any advice? Now I end up sitting around for 30 minutes until my body cools off and am wasting the morning away. And... once school starts back up I will not have time in the morning to wait for my body to cool down - I'll need to get ready for work! Thanks for any advice - I am new the running game and have lots of questions.

Not sure I can help alot. I have the same issue. I do try to spend 10 minutes to stretch and cool then get out of the running clothes and head to the kitchen for a recovery meal. I do carry a towel to keep sweat off the body and help cool quicker. I try to shower in cool water but cool this time of year is about 75-78F. I have a fan in the bathroom this time of year. I try to delay dressing as long as possible - but once the clothing goes on the seat starts back up. I have walked into an early meeting with a damp shirt before - but in Houston that is not 100% uncommon.

Defintirely cannot help with makeup - I do know that when I put shave cream on the sweat glands go crazy - I assume the same happens with makeup.

Not sure I helped alot on this other than to let you know you are not alone. Note that I even have issues in winter with this - not to the extreeme but there are issues.

Me too, and I have the same situation! Can't wait to hear from the more experienced folks on this...

My suggestion would be to hydrate with something more than water for runs more than 3 miles - then ice and/or stretch. It is normal for the body to still sweat afer a run because we cant turn off the sweat

Not to get too personal, BUT when I ran 5 miles on Sunday night I was a dripping mess for 30 minutes. I iced my shins which helped cool my core too a bit.

On the other hand my GF stands on two ice packs to help her body temp cool down.

Just a suggestion.

I jump in our pool when I am done to cool off. It really helps, but it this HOT weather sometimes the pool was too hot. So I would take a cool bath instead and that was just as refreshing.

called AAA for package prices today. CBR is booked :scared1: Does anyone know is this because there are a ton of rooms frozen for marathon racers? Any recommendations. I feel like going through AAA is always the cheapest way for me.

I don't think that's it... it may be because it's President's Day, and many, many people have off that week.

oh right good point. Im not sure I am going to make the princess this year. It was suppose to be myself, my mom, and my aunt. The cost of going this time of year is outrageous. We are still deciding but I am thinking we might skip it. :guilty: The flights alone are double than what I paid last september.

This is what I cant come to terms with:

sept 2009: 2 adults 2 kids 6 nights ASsports- pref room deluxe dining (used free dining credit and upgraded) 7day ticket and park hopper. round trip air fare, trip insurance= 2,650

Feb 2011: 3 adults 4 nights ASsports- stand room dining plan 4 day ticket no hopper, round trip air fare, trip insurance= 2,742

As much as I was so looking forward to do the princess I feel like I could take my husband and kids in value season for a week for the same price.

Ok nows your turn to talk me into it or tell me I am being smart but foregoing the trip..... Or does anyone have any budget suggestions?

Keep watching the fares - Wednesday is the best day to book and you don't get rewarded for booking a long time out anymore. I stay off property mainly because I work for a hotel company, but because it is a lot cheaper and I prefer to keep it to two of us if possible. It is difficult enough to focus on the race that the addition of others who turn it into a vacation doesn't make it fun for me. The largest expense are the tickets but I only use my Disney rewards card for purchases and have enough points usually to pay for those passes along with some meals. I only spent $400 for the Princess trip last year including food, gas, tickets, hotel...not with airfare, we drove but that would have added about $200 for us -it was a three day trip. It is a huge contrast from the Disneyland Half. I think we will end up spending around $4,000 for four of us and five nights. :scared1:

yes this trip started as me and my mom going to just focus on the race. maybe a full day at epcot (our fav park without kids) then my mom mentioned it to my aunt who is so excited to go. Shes never been to WDW and hasnt had a vacation in 20 years. I feel like if she is going to spend the money she should see as much as she can. Maybe I should think about just making it a small trip and maybe inviting her back when we go in a few years as a family. Gosh decisions, decisions

I think that's the way to go. For me, we own at DVC so the hotel isn't so much an issue. But, to save cost on meals, DH and I are going by ourselves and not taking our two kids (they're fine with it knowing it will be a quick trip and we are going back in December as a family). We usually do the dining plan when we're there, but this time we're going to do counter service only.

We are going down primarily for the race. It's my first race ever, and I want to be able to focus on it and it alone. The only "extra" thing we'll do is the MNSSHP because I just can't resist.

RUPERT I had no idea Wednesdays were the best day to book a flight. Thanks for the tip!

I plan on enjoying the parks a bit while I am there but to save $$ I may upgrade my ticket to an AP while I am there in Oct especially since I will be back in May.

I am going to pay OOP for my meals as it is just me and I think I will do mostly counter service anyway.

As for the resort - I am thinking I may just go with a value, again just me so I don't need much. I am there primarily for the race and just making it a weekend trip.
