Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Anyone know what time they let you start queing in front of Town Square Theater for the Princess Meet and Greets at the Party? I know they let you in at 7...just wondering if we can line up early (and HOW early).

My youngest is a HUGE Rapunzel fan. We want to knock this out first thing....

Are they definitely letting people into the parks at 4pm with only MNSSHP tickets? The CM I spoke with said they had changed the policy to only 7pm.

YES.

This happens every single year. CMs on the phone say NO, and in reality, the answer at the gate at 4:00p is YES.

Yes, you can and guests down at Disney going to September parties already have gotten in at 4p. :thumbsup2

As the previous poster said: Yes.

The CM's on the phone are taught to say no...because the ticket actually only guarantees you admission to the party.

But the logistics on the ground are: They let you in at 4 PM. The wording on the ticket gives them the wiggle room to change that, at a moment's notice. The reality is...it's been this way for years and I don't see it changing any time soon.

I hope they don't change it, I have 5:20 ADRs.

Here is what happened for us. (Please keep in mind that different CM's could run things differently.)

We went to the party on 9/20. We went into the Town Square Theater about 6:15. There was a short line to see the pre-7pm princesses and a shorter line to see Mickey (or whoever was on the other side).

In the foyer was a new line forming to see the Party Princess'/Princes. We stood with that group. As it grew closer (about 6:40), we entered the queue and waited inside the roped area. Several others were there waiting too and we let people who were not there for the party pass us. Then at 7pm we were in the first group ushered in.

Thank you all for the quick and helpful replies! :thumbsup2

My four-year-old nephew is going next week for the first time EVER (at WDW and MNSSHP) and the party is the only time they will get to be in the park.

I knew we had always gotten into the parties at 4, but thought I had better check :surfweb:

Are Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye still doing meet 'n' greets in Frontierland? They are the nephew's "heroes!"

for those of you entering the park at 4 on the day of the party, will you be in costume? we are planning on dressing up but not sure if we should put our costumes in a locker until 7...

We'll be arriving even earlier on Oct 4th. My son and I have Pirate League appts at 2:30-ish. My wife and 2 daughters have BBB appts at 4:00-ish. We'll all be in costume when we arrive.

Sorry if this has been asked...
For the Halloween Party is it well lit, or is it worth it to bring a small flashlight?

Are you visually impaired or traveling with a small child who can't handle dimly lit areas? If not, then no. The darkest part of the park is around Frontierland and even there, everything is easily visible. You shouldn't have any problem unless you want to read your map. Then a small unobtrusive light would come in handy. I found a really cool tiny flashlight at Walmart in the automotive dept. It is less than an 1.5 ".

Have the option of going October 31st or November 1st. Which do you think would be better? It would be awesome to be there on the actual holiday, but I've heard it's so crowded. Halloween is on Monday....do you think that will keep the crowds lower?

Nope. It will sell out regardless of which day of the week it is.

I just got back! Had a great time I was at the party on the 23rd and the 27th. I thought I was prepared!!! I was in line for the Dwarfs at 6:30. But, about 7:15, as I was getting close, they packed up and left because of the thunder/lightening. We left. All night long was line to line. More than once they pulled the character before we got to them. The place was packed and I ended up just barely catching both parades on the 23rd and only saw the fireworks as we came out of the Haunted Mansion!!! I had to come back on the 27th and still barely saw the parade. It was soo crowded!! :scared1: I did get some good photopass pictures like the hitch hiking ghosts and the ghost on the carriage. The line for Jack Sparrow was always over an hour!!!!!!!! But - I accidently ran into Gaston and got a picture with him. I was dressed as Fifer Pig and he said I looked like something he'd mount on his wall! :rotfl:

We were at the party on the 27th and it was packed! I was a little dissappointed because you couldn't find the candy spots and when you got there the line was forever long (as my dd put it). We did get to see the first parade and I thought it could have been longer. The party isn't cheap by any means and I don't think it was worth paying $150 for 3 tickets. The highlight of the night were Hallowishes they were awesome! DD fav part was the headless horseman and that really surprised me because her watching a video on computer scared her. We only ended up hitting three candy spots because we just couldn't find them:confused3 I was so twisted around and confused that I forgot about cindy's coach and haunted mansion photo spots:sad1: Oh, well, first timer here and now I know! The party on the 30th was sold out! Never got to the dwarves, again, couldn't find our way around, especially with all the people:scared1: Did make sure we got tshirts and a halloween party pin:thumbsup2

I would have stood in line for him if I could have found him! lol

We were at the party on the 27th and for us it wasn't worth the $280 for 5 people. It was packed. Got in line for the dwarves at 6:15, didn't get our picture until 7:30. Booked it to the castle where my husband was waiting for the Villains show which we couldn't see because of the crowds. Parade was excellent, thankfully our girls had a front row view of that. As others have said the candy places were hard to find--and at the three we managed to find -- one spot only gave us one piece each. We watched the fireworks from the front of the park and left, it just wasn't worth our time to try and stand in more long lines for what would have amounted to maybe 3 more pictures. A real let down.
