Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Just purchased my tickets for the Oct 31 party. It will be my 40th birthday as well. We will be down in FL for the kids' fall break. We will be doing WWHP and going to a football game while we are there and the kids have no idea we are going to sneak a trip to the Magic Kingdom as well. I was going to surprise DH as well but I told him the other day. He said "I was wondering how you were going to work Disney into the trip" Can't wait.

I just booked my Oct trip last night.
I'm debating between Thurs 10/27, Sunday 10/30 or Halloween night. Our plane leaves at noon on 11/1.
We haven't been to MNSSHP since 2005.
I'm so excited!!!

I totally need to plan a costume, even it will embarrass my teenager.

Purchased our tickets this morning....I went with the shipping since the cards/tickets did change a bit from last year and the previous years designs so it'll be good to have the different one for our scrapbook. Can't wait to get them , I hope we get one of each character again.....with 7 of us it's likely

Which type of tickets do most people get? I would like to be able to use them for scrapbooking. Are the ones that you print at home prettier? Are the plastic ones that you pick up just like the regular park tickets?

Are you going to go all out with the helmets, knee and elbow pads? And is it me or did it seem like the Orange Iguanas and Silver Snakes hardly ever made it out of the moat?

Yup, helmet and pads and all! Even have some nametags and pendants of life

I remember the orange iguanas always stinking it up. To be fair, that moat was pretty big and scary

Anyway, I need to start back up on my demon costume. Time is creeping along and starting to catch up with me! Hope everyone's getting their costume ideas together! I love reading about everyone's ideas ^_^

I bought tickets for the 10/31 party! I am so excited! we land about 3:00 on 10/31 and plan on going straight to the park. Trying to think of costumes we can wear on the plane that won't get us arrested by the air marshalls This is our 1st time at MNSSHP and this thread has really helped! thanks for all the great tips

My teenager told me that he used to be scared of that talking rock Olmec thing back in the late 90s. He just saw a clip of that show on You Tube and said was embarrassed of how much of a wuss he was for being scared of a fake rock.

My son is interested in dressing up as Darth Maul, but I thought I read no weapons in the park. Are the plastic light sabers and plastic star wars blasters included in this? (not 100% sure how they define weapons)

I imagine not, since toy lightsabers are actually sold IN the parks!

I wouldn't think a toy qualifies, but if he has an actual working light saber, leave it at home! I think they are refering to carrying things like dulled swords.

I think the restriction on weapons is that they don't want items in the park that could be mistaken for a weapon (for security and safety reasons). Replicas of swords and firearms come to mind. I am sure lightsabers are fine, but if the blade doesn't retract all the way, it could become cumbersome by the end of the night.
