Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

They didn't do the Liberty Belle last year and I was SO bummed. It was a major highlight from other years. I'm really hoping they bring it back this year, especially since Toontown has gone the way of the Dinosaur so there won't be the Wonderland Trick or Treat trail. I am hoping they put some characters on there, like Donald and Daisy since they no longer have a designated spot. It's the perfect place for them.

I'd like to think Disney would feel obligated to add a few things since Toontown is now closed and some things will be lost for the party. However, I'm thinking Disney does not feel that same sense of obligation that I THINK they should...... In fact, they might just view it as an opportunity to have an excuse to cut back. For the Christmas party, they recently lost Twas the Night, Belle's Storytime and Scrooge's tree stand.... and didn't seem to have a sense of obligation to give back much. Well, unless you count that Stitch "show" in Tomorrowland........ which I don't.......... :rotfl:

I was pretty disappointed with the lack of stuff they offered for the Christmas party. This was our first, and aside from the parade there was nothing "special" about it. They had a couple dance parties, but then they have dance parties in other places without it being a hard ticket event.
I didn't find any special character meets either...all the characters we saw could be seen on any given park day. But oh yeah, they had red and green clothes on.

I'll be waiting to see what the first few guests of the first parties report back w/ what changes have been made and if anything like you said above...

most curious where the characters are!

also anyone make a "touring plan" for their party night and care to share? I am working on mine love to see what others have planned for and/or how it may have worked once there...

Well, mostly that's because there weren't that many special characters. The Dwarfs were a nice addition. And seeing the princes with the princes is nice. But honestly, that's about it. I'd at least like to see them bring out Cindy's coach for photos during MVMCP.

MNSSHP has traditionally had more to offer, but only time will tell if that continues to be the case. I'd go to that one, but honestly, just don't want to brave the heat (school events preclude late October for us).

We typically attend 2 parties to be sure we can do it all. Last year it really didn't take that to get it done.

Losing the Stepsister dance party in Fantasyland last year was a huge loss. That was TONS of fun. I know they added one at the Golden Horseshoe, but not everyone cares about Toy Story. :duck:

Was going to order my tickets today but now I'm stuck wondering if I want to do Will Call or ETickets? I think the plastic tickets look exactly the same as last years so I don't really need 7 more of the same pattern card LOL I don't know though, I've scrapbooked them every year....so maybe getting the plastic cards is something I should continue to do, even though they look the same. Every years Disney album looks the same, it's almost crazy to continue to take pictures really LOL

My DH and I will be attending the October 20 party. I have been to a MNSSHP before but he has not. This will be our first trip without the kids, who are grown and at college. One daughter, who is attending college in Florida, will join us for the last 2 nights, but most of the trip will be on our own. I just love the parade!

We are SO excited to be attending the Sept. 23rd party! We have been to disney so many times but have only ever attended the Pirate and Princess party. We LOVED that! DH is playing in a softball tournament at ESPN Wide World of sports, soooo we had to go with him! DD and myself and grammie, papa and a friend will be attending. We can't wait!

I've had to postpone my trip in September due to work committments, but have 2 tickets for MNSSHP for Sept 27th party, Does anyone know If WDW will refund these? If not.... suggestions as to what to do?

I am going to call tomorrow and see if WDW will accept the returned tickets for a refund. We'll see what happens.... It is for Sept 27th so they would have plenty of time to re-sell them to another guest. I'll post the outcome of this :)

What did Disney say about your tickets? That's the date my husband & I want to go, but we have not purchased our tickets yet. We won't be 100% sure of our trip until perhaps 2 weeks before our depature date.

No charge to print at home or pick them up. Only charge is if you have them delivered. If you print them at home they have the MNSSHP logo on them, if you pick them up or have them delivered they look like normal park tickets.

Now that is interesting! Last year I opted to pick them up as I was afraid I would lose them at home. But I wonder what the MNSSHP logo looks like for printed-at-home tickets. Anyone have a photo??? :goodvibes

I did will call so as to avoid the risk of misplacing it or forgetting to pack it.

If you go to Google image search, type in MNSSHP, then you'll see the logo-or at least the one they used in the past. In '09, they used the round symbol, it printed right out on the paper when we bought ours (printed at home).

So I just noticed that they are having a party on Oct. 7. Must have missed it because it is not an advance ticket purchase. I was planning to go on The 6th, which is a Thursday. I presume Thursday would be less crowed, that's why it is an advance ticket price. Does this sound right? That Friday could be busier?

With the prices they charge for tickets, they certainly still should be party themed tickets but unfortunately, they stopped having party themed tickets after the 1995 parties. Just another way for Disney save money. :sad1:

I remember when they gave you a set of photos for free that night as well....times have changed.

I like having them in my hand at home before the trip. That way I can scan them and have a copy in my purse, a copy in my husbands wallet, a copy in the luggage and then the tickets in my Passporter. If I picked them up at the Will Call I'm guessing they keep some kind of record of them too? Either way....I have just gotten in to a routine of getting them at home and making multiple copies in case the tickets got lost or stolen.

I see this years tickets are blue...so I guess I'm going to order the hard plastic tickets, with 7 of us hopefully we'll get one of each design/character :)

Fridays are almost always busier.

On the matter of a discounted night vs. a non-discounted night......

The last 2 Tuesdays of the Christmas party in 08 sold out, but not all the other nights. I couldn't figure out why Tuesday....... until someone pointed out those were the discounted nights. Everyone's first inclination is to find the discounts.

That makes sense. Guess I will still plan for the Thursday Party!
I can't wait! My boys will be so excited!

Just got my ticket!! 9/13 party here I come!!! Now to decide if I want to do some understated costume...I have dinner at Cali Grill before so I'm thinking not but I'm open to ideas :)

Yay! I bought my tickets today!! It was practically half off since I had $30 in Disney Rewards Dollars. I forgot I had them, and wasn't gonna go since I didn't really have the money. Can't wait to go!!!

Does anyone know if there is a AAA discount for MNSSHP? I have made hotel reservations, but have not bought tickets for the party. We are planning on Oct 6.

I work for AAA, but I haven't heard of anything. But each state club is slightly different (i.e. we don't sell discount tickets in TX clubs, but I hear we will be soon).
