OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

What is it and do you have to get a separate ticket for it from the MVMCP? This will be our first year going to MVMCP and we dont' want to miss anything! Anything else that people can suggest as must-see at the party?

It's a desert party starting before and lasting until after the fireworks. It is a separate, ticketed activity that is NOT free. You can call 407-WDW-DINE to make reservations for it.

I know I brought this up somewhere, but don't remember from all the Christmas/MVMCP WDW threads I have been reading lately, but I have a few questions about the parade and fireworks timing.

I've seen it said many times that the 2nd parade is not as crowded as the first and even says this on the map/brochure for the party. So for those that have been in the past, what is your strategy for seeing both? I would just think people who are there for the first (8:15) parade would just hold their spots till after the fireworks (9:30) and then I could see there being more availablity for the 2nd parade, but would you have to sacrifice your fireworks viewing :confused3

TIA

Was this ever answered and I missed it? I would like to know the veterans thoughts on this as well. Thanks so much!

I'll try.

Although that tip was true in the past, its not really the case anymore. The second parade, IMHO, just as crowded as the first one most nights.

I usually watch the second parade.

I usually get to the hub around 9p to see the fireworks, then I usually stay for the show at 10:05p, while husband goes and stakes out a spot for the 10:30p parade along Main Street. Then after the show, we head over to Main Street for the parade. I've done that a few times. Sometimes hubby stays with us but the last 2 times, he went and staked out a spot. What a sweetie.

If you don't have someone to stake out a spot for the 2nd parade, then I'd find a spot for the fireworks and show where you can then just sit for the parade...probably to the right of the castle/hub.

What are the lengths of the Totally Tomorrowland and Celebrate the Season shows? Thanks.

Do you think that Thursday, December 9 or Friday, December 10 will be a busier night? I can go either night, but would like to avoid whichever night will be more crowded!!

Anyone have any opinions on where the best place to view the parade and Holiday Wishes are?

I'd like to know too! this is my first trip to disney and I'm trying to plan on what times to see the shows and parade and where the best spot is to view everything!

Is there a good place to stand to be able to see the fireworks then the celebrate season show then the 2nd parade? because the show times for all of these are all close together so it would be nice to just stay in the one spot and have good viewing of all 3 events if possible! I'd like to get good pictures of the parade and fireworks too.

do you need to be upclose to the castle to see this show or do they show it on big screens so if you are further back you can still see it?

I have been asking the same question except for my dates are Dec 12th and the 14th,
I have read that there is no real way of telling which will be the most crowded. They have wrote that the discounted MVMCP nights were sold out last year and the whole last week before Christmas. I decided to just go the day that is best for us, which is on a Sunday the 12th. If I were going to guess I would say Thursday would be least crowded because the locals may go on Friday nights lol thats just a guess.:confused3

Thursday 12/9 is also the last day for the Annual Passholder discount. I have a feeling EVERY day of MVMCP will be pretty crowded.

Tonight my family and I were finalizing our Disney plans. And we know that at the Halloween party there is a carriage to take pictures on. My disney obsessed mother-in-law wants to get a picture of my niece on the carriage. Can someone please let me know whether her dreams of the carriage being there at the Christmas party will be crushed. OR do I get to give her a very special early Christmas present and let her know that the carriage will be there at the Christmas party!

Thanks in advance!! :worship:

Sorry to say......... the carriage has traditionally not been party of the Christmas party. Nor have I seen any reports that it will be out for the party this year. We ooh'd and ahh'd over that photo op for a long time and finally made a trip to MNSSHP last year. It WAS awesome!

There is a horse carriage always out by the Christmas shop. Cindy's carriage it is not..... but a great place for the photos nonetheless.

Yes, it's nothing like Wishes and that's why they call it "Holiday Wishes". :)

so excited to see this!!! :goodvibes We went to the MNSSHP last month and were awed by the fireworks.. it was nothing like Ive ever seen before.. Ive heard the Holiday Wishes is even better, so I cant wait!!

My family will be there that night too. Hoping for a less crowded night.

Are there any Photopass magic shots that are exclusive to MVMCP?

I am wondering about this as well. We love the ones from last year's MNSSHP and I would love to get some special ones from the Christmas Party. What special ones do they do and where can you get them?

Awesome question! I hadn't even thought about that.

I've learned to ask every PhotoPass Photographer which magic shots they do. They're usually pretty excited to tell you what they can do.
