Offical free dining watch 2008

Why are you waiting? You can make a room only reservation then convert, it unless you want to be sure the dates match the FD.

so can you book tomorrow if you have a DV what dates do you have to check in
maria

The problem with waiting is that sometimes all the spaces for FD will be taken up on your dates before you get the code in the mail. Call CR and give them your reservation # and ask them to check your name for the code. They will have the code long before you get snail mail notification.

Don't take this wrong please. I could be reading your post wrong  When free dining was offer for Disney Visa it was listed by a certain code this is right but if you call some CM will ask you for the code & if you don't have it they may or may not give it to you. Last year I found out about it from the Allears web site along with Mousesavers & on another board. My friend called the first day for Disney Visa & asked them if they had a code for free dining & they told her she had to have the code to give it to them. The CM wouldn't give her the code nor the free dining unless my friend had the code. Couldn't have been a cranky CM :lmao: She was one unhappy camper until I gave her the code for the free dining. She then got her free dining. Maybe they have changed things but this is from what I found out. No harm in trying might get a nice CM. Sometimes they have so many codes out there it get confusing for them;)
Good luck ! I did the bounce back program last September so I don't have to worry about it unless just maybe I could go a few days ahead of DH but it would be too confusing for the air since it is booked & both of ours are on same reservesation number. And I hate dealing with the call center in India ;)

Also all my special treats from Disney Visa has either been sent to me by email or when I check online at Chase.com

I just wanted to give a heads up on the difference from 40% off versus free dining, we have booked for AKL (standard room) on 9/13-9/20 with ddp, and I think got a good price, I have 12 yr old and 9 yr old and husband, I will def switch to free dining on thurs because with 3 adults(12 year old same as adult) and 1 child per night for 7 nights it is less to book with free dining here are my calculations....... with 40% off 8 day hopper and travel insurance 3154.62, with same everything except discount changed to free dining....3005.16, not huge but almost 150.00 to spend in the parks!:rotfl:

Also my 1st trip here are my adr, any other recommendations with 12yr old girl and 9 yr old boy.....
Teppen Edo Dinner,
Chef Mickey's Brkfst
Mamma Melrose(Fantasmic seating)
Ohana's Dinner
Le Cellier Dinner
Liberty Tree tavern Dinner
Tusker House Brkfast
....... I would like a few more table service as we are big foodies! This site is great by the way, I am learning so much insider info!:cheer2:

Congrats on your first trip, we love AKL and you will too. We also vacation for the food and take my advice. When you step into the lodge and smell the food you will kick youself if you don't plan on eating at Bomas. We also love Sci-fi for cheeseburgers and milkshakes, Cape May and we don't even eat seafood, they have the best mashed potatoes and prime rib,Wispering Canyon Cafe there rosted chicken is awsome and unlimited milkshakes (can refill with any flavor, my kids love this). Go to the top of dining page and click on the link on resturants page for pics and you can look at pics of everything. This helps us decide, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I looked in a couple of newpapers this AM for a code, but found nothing. Did anyone else have any luck? This is getting to be discouraging. Seemed that last year things were very much set in stone and just had to wait for the day to come to change reservations. This year it everything is just a "hunch" or prediction and the wait is driving me nuts!!!! :headache: :headache:

ONLY 15 MORE HOURS...:yay: :yay: :yay:

YOU CAN DO IT...

IT WILL BE OKAY...

FYI...
People were still booking free dining in JUNE last year...
RELAX...

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Yep...there will be plenty of options as long as people are flexible in which resort they are willing to book. Also, when we originally booked free DDP last year there were rooms available at the values, but in our case we had to book a preferred room location -- which turned out to be a blessing as we ended up with one of the free upgrades to a 1bdrm villa @ OKW! :goodvibes

Has anyone heard anything from there disney visa or anymore from travel agents about disney visa holders definitely being able to book by tommorrow and GP on thursday? I can't wait to hear it's a good excuse to take the day off on Thursday! :)

Is Wilderness Lodge part of the free dining? Or only certain resorts offer it and Wilderness Lodge isn't one of them? I remember back in 2006 when we did the free dining we ended up chosing the Contemporary as our resort. Wilderness Lodge was never available.

If you book Wilderness Lodge on the computer, then call and ask them to change your reservation to the free dining code, would you still be able to keep your reservation at Wilderness Lodge?

Just got off the phone with Disney Visa. She said yes it will start tomorrow (actually, she agreed when I said I knew it would start tomorrow) but that I would have to call Disney to get the details.

The most popular....

A few have said TA has indicated...

Aug 24- Sep 20 dates

AYG for Visa code...

Everyone has always said

Monday 7th Visa
Thursday 10th- everyone else

No one will know for sure until it happens...

We are going in September but staying DVC and PORS, since there are only 2 of us, the room only code is a better savings than free dining. I have been following this thread though and just wanted to wish you all lots of pixie dust when you call tomm. pixiedust:

See you there!!:goodvibes

Thank you for the confirmation

Do they offer the FDP during value season ? Im asking regarding value rates :) Also does it sometimes include value resorts ? (like all stars ? )
Do you have to have the chase visa to book your ressie w/ the FDP ? Im asking becasue we have a Chase debit visa, but not the actual Chase CC.
Thanks!!!

Yes, free dining will be during value season. Yes, it has in the past included value resorts. To book Free dining on the 7th, tomorrow, you will need a disney visa. This offer will open up to the general public (those without Disney Visa), on the 10th, Thursday. Check here tomorrow for all the details and be ready to call Thursday.
