Offical Check-In List 10/30/04 "Magic"

Ginger,
Congratulations on placing in the top 5 for costumes. You should post a picture wearing the costume. I would love to see it.

Teri:wave:

We didn't take pictures:( . We are going to improve them and take them back next year with hopes of placing first.

How we did the T-or-T.
1. First I collected the names and stateroom number of everyone who wished to participate.
2. Collected the names and ages of all the children who's parents posted on this board who wished to participate.
3. I tried hard to keep a list of posting names, childrens names, their ages, and participating stateroom numbers updated and posted here on the board.
4. We agreed upon a day and time for our T-or-T.
5. I made signs for the stateroom doors for those participating and passed them out onboard or I placed them on the doors myself.
6. I planned out our route, starting at the lowest deck working our way up to the highest.
7. We all met at our meeting place, which was Deck 3 Midship. Took a quick roll call and start our hunt for staterooms.

Because we were running short of time due to the fact that DCL was having their T-or-T hunt just 1 hour after ours was to start. I had to ask a few staterooms to bring their goodies to the meeting place and hand them out there. We had to divide our group into 2 and start one on deck 5 and one on deck 2. Hoping they would not crash in the middle. We had 42 children and 26 staterooms to visit in less than an hour to do it in. I think it turned out pretty good my group only missed 1 stateroom. Sorry Carolyn1023.

Ginger - Since you know what works and doesn't for the T-or-T, if you will come up with "the plan" (time and method ;) ) and e-mail me the details, I will post it all on the Meetings page of the website. Of those who decide to participate, if they let me know and provide their stateroom number, I will continue to note that on our Cruiser List. That should help a bit with the organizing.

I do agree as to the ages you mentioned to me. Possible exception would be making it through 12, provided they are in costume. What does everyone think? Otherwise we would need to bring more goodies than we could carry! BTW - Although I can't trick-or-treat, I am always in costume on Halloween and will answer the door that way - most likely as a middle-aged "Gadget" of Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers.

Thanks!

SM

Hi All! I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Sorry, I haven't been able to post much with work and getting our house finished before Christmas has kept me busy. For those who don't know, we've had a large home improvement project going on. We been under construction since July, we are now down to the flooring, countertops and painting. Of course everything I like is a special order. The project has been alot of waiting around for stuff to come in or for someone to put it in. Thank Goodness it's almost over with.

I work for the United State Postal Services, things have been crazy with all the catalogs and sale booklets going out. I'll be working 6 days a week for the next few weeks, well actually till my next vacation in January.
Going to the World for a week, can't wait. :bounce:

TMcG88 23 people, are you related to Dena, posting name Mdvasquez, she always got a large group going with her too. The more the merrier. Are you all going to dress up for Halloween?

Ginger, glad all is going well with the renovation! Don't forget to post before and after pics. I remember seeing the before pics pf the outside , but not of the inside.
I wish we were going with you all next year, but we decided to try a little closer to Christmas since it is our family's Christmas gift. Tell Ashley that Taylor says hi! And Steve says hi to Bill too! LOL

Amanda I sure will miss you next year. Who's going to make choc. covered strawberries with me? And who's going to help me with the T-or-T'ing?????
We haven't been able to find any past inside pictures that we could show  He!He! Working on the new pictures, just need to learn how to send them.
Hi to all yours too. :wave2:

For those of you that didn't cruise this year, Amanda, Dena and her family and I made Choc. Covered Strawberries at the Radisson the night before the cruise. They were great, sorry Karen we couldn't save any for you. Maybe next year we'll have extras.

We are also on the Magical Halloween 2004. My family was on the 2002 Halloween cruise and had a great time. We did the DIS group trick or treat, it was great, my kids still talk about it! They were slightly disappointed in 2003 when there was no Halloween cruise for them. I promised myself I would stay off the DIS boards until about 6 months before the 2004 cruise, but I can’t help myself. Maybe it has something to do with Blizzard we are getting at this very moment…

Shari I am sending you a PM to get access to the site you are maintaining.

Looks like we have another family joining us. We talked so glowingly about booking our Halloween Disney Cruise and how much we are looking forward to it, they decided to join us on the ship. They are a family of four (actually 5, but the infant is going to stay with relatives) with DD12 and DD10.

Now, how to get 300+ days to pass a bit quicker, .....

:bounce: :Pinkbounc ::yes::

We are from Allentown, NJ. It's a small town about 10 minutes west of Great Adventure.

I guess you are also taking advantage of the NJ teachers convention. It works out great with the kids only missing three 1/2 days of school. And, Halloween encompasses this week in 2004.

Jamashp,

I know exactly where Allentown is. My Husband cousin lives there. Have been to a few family gatherings there. Perhaps you know them and could talk them into joining too! I’ll send you a PM with their last name.

Yes, we scheduled the trip around the NJ teacher’s convention. Since we booked the trip, my husband found out that he has a convention that he should attend in Orlando that starts on the last Friday of the cruise and goes to Monday. I suspect that we will now extend the vacation through Monday so he can attend the convention and we can go to the parks. Since my kids will be in Kindergarten and 2nd grade I am not to concerned about one more missed day of school.

Hi,
We're going on the 10/30/04 Magic cruise as well! I'm new to Disboards so I think I have threads all over the place but I think I finally found the right one! Tracy was kind enough to reply to one of my threads and pointed me in the right direction (thanks again, Tracy!).

By the time we go on the cruise, I'll be 46 years old and my husband, Peter, will be 45 years old. Our son, Robert, will be 12 years old and our daughter, Elizabeth, will be 10 years old.

We live just north of Toronto, Ontario in Canada. And we can't wait to go on this cruise! It's our third cruise; we did the land/sea package (3/4nights) in January 2002 and the 3 night cruise in October 2002, and we had a ball!
