BTW guys...If I heard Ryan S correctly...There will be an AI this coming Monday and will show some contestants that didn't make it and they will show...one more time...WILLIAM HUNG. I believe he is going to perform once more!!
Fantasia lives in my county and she was on a local radio station this morning. She said that she has been singing in churches since she was 5. She has been offered recording contracts since she was 14 but they were not the kind of contracts she was interested in. I guess AI will give her some leverage when negotiating a contract. She also said she feels that she will have a career in singing whether or not she wins AI.
Charley's accent was endearing to me. She sounds like all of my mother's relatives from the eastern part of NC. I sometimes have to listen very carefully when talking to them so that I can understand everything they are saying. And I think I have an accent.
Also, if you're still reading this, my son is suppose to be Simon in a talent show next week. Any ideas on an outfit? I think I may put a light rinse in his blonde hair. Do you think it will hurt it? It is suppose to wash out with only a few washings. Thanks for any ideas.
Originally posted by mrsv98 Well, this group was much better than last week! I really liked Amy,
she has a really nice stage prescence.
DH and I knew the judges would like LaToya
but we both found her a bit on the strident side. Too "Celine Deion-ish" for us.
I couldn't believe that Simon said Charly
had such a good voice. To us, she sounded breathy and flat.
We really weren't blown away by any of the guys tonight. I think it will be an interesting vote tomorrow with LaToya winning and Amy or Charly coming seond.
this is why I love this competition...we all have such varied opinions. I Loved Latoya's performance...but I'm also a HUGE Celine fan..even a member of the fan club.
This week's group was SO MUCH better than last week's. It was a pleasure to watch. I really enjoyed Amy, Latoya, and Elizabeth's performances. What talent!
One of next week's performers, Donnie Williams, was arrested for a DUI the other night. He was driving home from a party that some friends gave for him. If this is a first offense, I hope that the AI people allow him to continue.
As far as the Pen Salesman goes, I liked him coming in to last night. I thought he did well and has a unique voice, BUT, it bugged the *&#*# out of me the way he sang "Bluejean babUH, L.A. ladUH"!
MrsMud, thank you! I've been waiting for someone to say that (and I was about to say it myself). That just drove me crazy! Why oh why would he do that to such a beautiful song. I was shocked that the judges didn't say anything about it.
Come on, LaToya was a GIVEN. She was absolutely wonderful. But what I'd like to know is, how the heck did Jon get in the top three over Leah?? She was TONS better than Jon last night!
When it came down to Leah and Jon, I had a feeling it would be Jon since it wasn't expected. I was happy it was because I didn't think Leah was good at all, and I knew Jon wouldn't be in the top 2. I'm glad Latoya and Amy made it since I liked them both. I just wish some of the others could have been on last weeks show.
I found Amy to be off key a lot. I was happy that Latoya will move along. Wild card race is getting interesting. I'm glad to hear that George has been given a chance. I liked his personality.
I didn't like Amy at all and thought that Elizabeth and Leah were both better. Oh well, my favorites were on the first show and I'm still waiting for Scooter Girl to come back as an alternate.
