Fantasia's voice reminded me alot of Nell Carters voice.

I loved the first one....we all voted for her. I like Michael, even tho it wasn't his best I want him to go through because I'd like to hear more of him...I think he could do better. The other choice was Katie. We all liked that jazz song.
Can't wait to see what happens tonight!

One thing is for certain - this group is already showing that the talent level is up from last year. There was always (in my opinion) two or three clear favorites in each group and those that made you wonder how they got so far. There was nobody last night who I felt that way about. While I like Fantasia's personality and presence, I'm not into that sound. I don't quite agree that she sounds like Macy Gray, since I cannot stand Macy Gray. I at least enjoyed listening to Fantasia. My personal favorites were Diana, Marque and Erskine. I voted for Diana, becuase I judged her on her performance, not her age. If you're going to use age as a factor, might as well send her and Johnny Red home right now. If the producers were concerned about the age, they would not have made the limit that low. I say if she deserves it, let her go as far as she can. Besides, she's cute

I too did not dislike anyone from last night. My favorites are probably Diana, Fantasia and Katie (Although I think she might have done herself in with that Jazz song). It will be interesting to see who goes on after tonight

Wow! That was a good show last night. I liked Katie Webber and in spite of the unusual song choice I liked her voice. Matthew, cute--I like cute.
The Simon in me says Fantasia you have a great voice but wear a bra and grow some hair to offset that huge mouth. I have never seen such a giant mouth.
William Hung and Simon were on Seacrest yesterday.

I also agree that the talent this year (so far) seems better than in the past. There was no one who did badly, in my opinion; they were all very good. The ones who stood out for me were Diana, Fantasia and Ashley (Am I the only one who liked Ashley? My husband and I thought she was great, but the judges apparently didn't agree)
Can't wait to see next week's performances!

I thought for the most part this was a very talented group. I didn't think Erskine did his best though - he was a lot better in his audition! And Fantasia picked a song that isn't right for her voice - she can do better then that. But out of all of them, I would like to see Marque get through.

I didn't vote last night, got home late. But I would have voted for Fantasia if I had. I liked Diana too.

Kelly and Kimberly have great voices just don't know if the songs they sung will get them through. I was also disappointed in Marque and Erskine's song picks. Thought that they could have done much better.

Definately didn't care for Ashley or Matthew.

I agree with Simon on most everyone picking safe songs. The bar needs to be raised and I think that Fantasia and Diana did that. Wonder what next weeks group will do?

Suzannen- How can you be so cruel as to call Carmen "yodel girl"!?!?!? Goat girl is more like it!

I liked Diana and that's about it. The others were ok- but made mistakes. And while Fantasia sang well- I don't care for her voice- it'll be interesting to see if America is with Simon or against him on that won't it? Wouldn't that be something if she didn't make the top 2 because America in general doesn't like her voice?

What kind of bugged me is that Simon told Katie that her song choice was too "different" or something like that, then a few minutes later he complained that the song choices were all too "safe". He needs to make up his mind about what exactly he wants.

I thought Katie was fabulous! While the song was out of the main stream, I thought it really showed her abilities.

I really liked Katie...she was good. Fantasia is OK...not one of my favorites...although she is from NC...so I kinda have to pull for her. I can't remember who sang second..but I didn't like it...even my Disney bear was covering his ears

I'm jumping in here..... glad to join you all. My vote last night was torn between Katie, Matthew, and Fantasia. I don't really love Fantasia's voice, but she is definitely trying to make an impression. I thought Katie was the best, overall. She definitely has that "pop" look.

I am currently rooting for a girl from my hometown. I was stunned when I saw the town listed under her name "Sturbridge, MA". Her name is Elizabeth Letendre (I believe). She sang in that first group of three last week that made Simon comment that there might be a top 12 of all girls this time. She looks a bit like that Katie with the short, choppy, blonde hair. Anyhow, gotta root for the hometown girl!....................P

Sorry to say, I wasn't all that impressed with Erskine. He started off a bit off key. And although I do really like Journey, that is not one of my favorite songs by them! Also, what was with that wash rag hanging from his back pocket?? He looked like he just finished washing his car!! Is that supposed to be stylish??.....Maybe I'm just getting too old!...............P

I didn't notice the rag in his back pocket. Anyway, so he might have started the first phrase or so ever-so-slightly off key, but he fixed it and sounded incredible! That's just my opinion anyway

I voted for 7 and 8, Matthew and Fantasia. Fantasia blew my mind! Matthew... well, he was just adorable!

I did like Diana and was a bit disappointed by Erskine. I think he should've kept his braids, they fit him.

We'll see. I got through VERY fast with Matthew but it took me nearly an hour to get through for Fantasia!

Who were the first two last night? I really liked the 16-year old girl, and the one adorable black guy. I didn't vote though...after the whole voting fiasco with Clay Aiken I felt I won't even bother this year (stayed up for 3 hours voting non-stop for the finale for nothing. this year I won't be as attatched!!!). But I liked the first two in the show last night, a lot.

The 16 year old was excellent! She reminded me of a younger Kelly Clarkson. The black guy...was just great in general. And adorable

Checked the website and it was Marque Lynch and Diana DeGarmo who I liked!

I didn't like Fantasia at all!

Fantasia and Diana. I was pretty disappointed. I really think Katie has the most talent, her song just didn't appeal to the masses.

I'm not sure what about Fantasia turns me off. I think she only has one style of singing, and she may not do as well when they start doing the different types of songs. Diana will go far because people are impressed with how young she is.

I hope Katie, Marque and Jennifer are brought back in the wild card round.
