Offical 2003 Stanley Cup Finals thread (Finals start on Pg. 17)

We really missed Hatcher, Guerin & Turgeon tonight.

I think the Stars will finish them in 6 though.

Whoa, the home teams really took it to the visitors this time. Well, except for Detroit and Boston that is. Let's see if those teams that got a split will capitolize on it and win their games at home.

Late night for Detroit fans this week. Both games are being played at 10:30pm ET.

Can someone please get me up to speed on what;s happened last week with all the games? We moved from the East to the west and I am all out of kelter for timing! I used to watching games at night- not during the day!!! So I forget to turn the tv on to watch the games!!!

antnee,

Can you resize that image down a little? You got a violent streak in you, don't you? ;)

Brodeur certainly looked good in yesterday's third period. Stoned a couple of Bruins and all they could do was look up into the rafters of the Fleet Center and ask why?

Here you go Karebear1...

EASTERN CONFERENCE

Ottawa and NY Islanders are tied 1 - 1

NJ leads Boston 3 - 0

Washington leads TB 2 - 0 (The Lightning are disappointing me!)

Toronto and Philadelphia are tied 1 - 1

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Edmonton leads Dallas 2 - 1

Anaheim leads Detroit 2 - 0 (Way to go Ducks!!)

Colorado and Minnesota are tied 1 - 1

Vancouver and St. Louis are tied 1 - 1

I really would have thought after the Hatcher suspension, the league would have looked at the tape of Laraque kneeling on Robidas head, but of course not.

Sorry Scott I cannot resize that image. I feel the Devils will win the cup this year for 1 reason only not for the great defense or HOF play of Martin Brodeur but for the simple reason that I dont work there anymore. I mean I get my cousin a job as their webmaster and now he is gonna get a cup ring and I will get squat. He will throw that in my face for year at Family Reunions
Hey where are the Habs???? ;)

To Hab or Hab not???? That is the question

EVen though we're down by 2, I still have faith

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!

Scottwdw- thanks for the update and the link- I'll guess we'll have prime time Wing action tonight!

Jeff- I think you're right- he's doing his job against the Wings that for sure! I have to say that the Ducks are really playing well. Way to go Ducks! COME ON WINGS!!!!!

Hey Antnee! How ya doin? Dev's look good so far and the Leafs and Cryers are doing exactly what we want, killing each other. As for the west, what a soft division! Everyone was saying either Detroit, or the Stars would win the cup, but it ain't gonna happen!

Lord Stanley's cup will return to NJ!!!

first the angels, now the ducks. Looks like the Disney magic is in full effect.

As a Michigan native as of two weeks ago, all I have to say is, LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!!!!!

Ah, antnee, the Habs are the habs not this year. Future looks bright they say, whoever "they" are.

Great games last night!! Two double-overtime games and they both ended within seconds of each other. Thank you, PIP!! (PIP-picture in picture).

If Toronto wins this series, they are going to have no one left for the next series. Did anyone see the Mogilny injury? It was very scary looking. And, Philly....same old story, can't score even with LeClaire, Amonte and Roenick. Bobby (You can call me, Bob) Clarke might be gone this time if they don't come back.

Ottawa clearly outplayed the Islanders last night in the OT periods. Snow kept them alive. And how does one get 10 power play chances and not score? This game might have taken the wind out of their Long Island sails.

Vancouver, ugh! Cloutier certainly doesn't look like himself before the injury. St. Louis could be tough if they survive this round.

Detroit, well, let's put it this way, only two teams in the history of the Stanley Cup playoffs have come back from a 3-0 deficit. Interesting to note, Coach Lewis played on the last team to do it, the 1975 Islanders over Pittsburgh. But then again, Pittsburgh didn't have one Jean-Sebastien Giguere either.

Tonight, does NJ sweep out Boston? Dallas slip past the Oilers? And, does Washington veto Tampa Bay's playoff hopes? Stay tuned!!! :D

Am I the only one?

GO LEAFS GO!!

You have to BeLeaf!

Nope,

GO LEAFS GO

So glad Cujo is helping the Red Wings win a Stanley Cup and not the Leafs:p

Get the broom out for Boston, the BRUINS are done.

Time to sweep up the ruins of the Boston Bruins

No kidding, huh? As a local newscaster said yesterday in his best Boston accent..."As for the Bruins folks, its OVA...O-V-A, OVA!".

Dear Leafs fans, looks like your team is falling apart, LOL

http://www.tsn.ca/NHL/news_story.asp?ID=37893&hubName=nhl

It looks as though Shayne Corson's days as a Toronto Maple Leaf may be over.

Sources told TSN that Corson, who was a healthy scratch last night for Game 3 against Philadelphia, met with Head Coach and General Manager Pat Quinn yesterday and a decision was reached during that meeting that Corson would no longer play or practice with the club. Corson was not at Leaf practice today.

A Maple Leafs spokespersnon told TSN that Corson "resigned".

Whether that decision remains final remains to be seen. Corson is clearly unhappy with his diminished role on the Maple Leafs this season. Corson's contract expires at the end of this season, but there is a club option.
It's believed, howewver, that the Maple Leafs are not interested in exercising that option.

Go Devils!!!
