Congratulations to the 2003 Stanley Cup Champions, the New Jersey Devils. Any team who can come up with 3 shutouts over one team in a 7 game series certainly deserves to win. And, remember, the regular season does mean something. Without home ice, the Devils might not have won.
If any of you New Jersey fans get to see the Cup, post those pics!
And, congratulations to Jean-Sebastien Giguere for winning the Conn Smythe Trophy. Although he lacked the heroics in the finals, the way he got the Ducks there was one of the more memoriable runs in playoff history. Besides, I loved saying his name!
Ah, it is sad to see a season end. But, wait! The draft is June 21 and 22 in Nashville and all the anticipation and trades that brings. Teams can start signing Free Agents on July 1st. Camps open in September and the next season starts in early October. Heck, we'll be talking hockey again before you know it!!
I want to thank everyone for participating in this thread. It was fun! Will definitely run it again next year! And, who knows, maybe Cinderella will win it next year?
Last word....if you can get NHL Center Ice, get it! It costs about as much as one good ticket to an NHL game and you get 90% of all NHL games televisied (local blackouts are enforced).
