Off-topic randomness - a place to ramble?

Well, we have figured out that there is a baby skunk and a momma skunk that come to visit every evening! Baby Stinky is about 2 lbs and Momma is about 7 lbs. I have been feeding them dog biscuits and they seem to like it although my big, scary 8 lbs Chihuahua doesn't like them coming around! Daisy, my dog, actually looks like she wants to go out and play with them. All this in the big city...what a ramble!

You've been feeding them -- guess you want them to stay? <boggle>

I was all set to suggest going to a hunting supply store to get some fox urine to drive them away, LOL, but I guess you actually want recommendations for better biscuits! ;)

i got a warning today for using approved words to make not approved words

i was asking if someone goes on live 365 and i said it yesterday and no warning

everyone uses numbers though

Me too! We were talking about the price of the upcoming Magic Carpet pin. Would it be a "for tee grand" credits? Will it be a "decade of grand" credits? Or maybe it might even be "then to the -shape of the trees in central plaza-" credits! Either way...the "VMK in the Sky" has been watching very closely. ;)

My daughter is almost 7 and it does not get any better. We just have to take it one day at a time. The new thing over here is refusing to clean her room. I call the floor the dump. No pool, activities, etc---not the lone ranger.

and true the DVC CB, and the CB board can be scary--
I saw that one thread and I think I know why you are---do not blame you!!

I'm thirteen and i havent done that yet :teeth:

So, here I am in lovely Aspen, Colorado, for a conference.

At the orientation get-together thing, I was my usual shy and anti-social self, so I hid for a bit and just took some pictures, and thought I'd share some of the beautiful scenery, in case you were bored. It's just with a pretty crummy old digital point and shoot, though.

Oh, and I did eventually crawl (ok, dragged myself) out of my shell to actually talk to people, LOL.

Take care, everyone :)

Gorgeous pics, Be! YOU SHY???? Not! Anywho, yeah, I would love the skunks to stay...I'm one of those people who really used to believe that animals all talked to eachother like in the Disney movies! I think animals are way cooler than some folks I know! When you work in retail sometimes it's difficult to see the good in everyone!

Sorry, peoplemover, but in real life, yes, rather shy, especially in larger groups. Probably less bad when it's just a few people.

I'm glad you and the skunks are getting along then! (For some reason, I feel the need to say: "You can call me flower if you want to.")

That's exactly who the baby looks like...I picture him sleeping with his tail wrapped around him!

It has been a week since we have been back from our first trip to WDW and we are still recovering. Recovering from the Magic! Recovering from the beauty! Recovering because we WANT TO GO BACK NOW!

This will just be a quick post focusing on VMK but I do plan on doing something much longer on the trip report board.

We arrived in DW on 8-11-05 around 9pm and by 10:30pm we were in our room with our luggage. The next day, Friday, we went to MK - not very crowded. I picked up our quests at VMK Central. Later that day we handed in our completed quests at VMK Central and were then sent to City Hall to schedule our tour. We scheduled our tour for the very next day but unfortunately didn’t make it because of a slight problem we had with our Luau tickets.

I called the operator and was able to get someone in City Hall to reschedule our tour. At first they didn’t want to do it over the phone. The operator said that I had to schedule the tour in person at City Hall but I nicely explained that I had done that before and I just wanted to reschedule. Luckily they agreed.

The Tour
It was really very good. We got to VMK Central at 3:45pm the tour was at 4:30pm. My mom made her character and we walked around until it was time. There were 11 people on the tour: my family-3 adults; a mother and her teenage son; a man, his wife and a toddler; a young woman and two teenagers from California. A couple of times our tour guide pulled out a flip book and told us stuff about VMK. Later, I would realize that she was giving us the answers for some of the questions that she would ask. So pay attention.

Our tour guide also showed us some pictures on what Tommorrowland might look like and told us that the plan is that it should be ready in January. At one point, as she was showing us the pictures of Tommorowland, one of the teens on our tour very calmly whips out a digital camera and takes a couple of shots. At this point, my mind is racing. Should I take out my camera too or should I just wait and see if I could get this kid to E-mail me these pics. Well, our tour guide would have none of this craziness. She told him, “Don’t even think about it buddy.” I don’t believe that she ever realized that he had already taken a couple of shots.

We all won some cards and were able to ride several rides: Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain and Haunted Mansion. I think we did Pirates of the Caribbean but now I can’t remember for sure. Everything is beginning to blur. Ohh, you won’t believe this but the young woman from California brought with her the card that you can only get from Disneyland and gave it to our tour guide to give away. Well, guess who got it. My mom! The guide said she got it because of her bravery. Earlier, we had convinced my mom to go on Big Thunder Mountain and she did. Our tour guide told her it wasn’t going to be too bad. She happened to sit next to our tour guide on that ride. Well, I could just imagine the look of terror on my mom’s face during that ride. My mom is the same person that once asked to have the carousel ride slowed because she thought it was going too fast. LOL.

As I said, this will be a very short report but I will do more on the trip reports board. Also, if you have any questions I would be happy to answer them if I can.

I just want to thank everyone on this board for all the quest info and advice. I really wanted to do the quests but this was our first vacation and I didn’t want to spend too much time on VMK.

One more thing, I really don’t know how the heck this happened but we now own DVC-Saratoga Springs. I now have to start reading the DVC boards to learn as much as possible. We are not impulsive buyers. I normally research everything and ask questions of others before I make a big purchase. Well, not this time!

oh, I forget. My brother and I also made characters in the park (we already had a character) well, when we got back home we couldn't access our characters. He was able to get his. He used to wrong E-mail address (forget a letter) so he just created a new address with comcast and then he was able to get in. I still can't get in. I am so upset and not sure what to do. Should I log on with my old character and try to tell one of the cast members in VMK. Would they allow you to have more than once character?

If you make a character in the park, even if you collect credits with that character you should log out and try to log back in just to b sure.

Thanks for the trip report! Post the link to the one on the trip report board when you're done, please!

And, WOW!!!

WELCOME HOME!!!

I haven't been "Home" yet, but wanted to be first to say Welcome Home. I found the DIS boards because of the DVC forum. They are a great bunch of people, too, so introduce yourself over there, too :)

Well...QED!! I tried to bring up Voltaire in the Fan Site chat didn't work. Who wants to have a conversation about European intellectual movements from the Englightenment onward? I got my testing scores...apparently I know a lot about intellectual and political movements...not to hot on the roots and causes of the World Wars.
