Off to OKW! Now Just back from OKW!

Leaving today for WDW and OKW. Another family is joining us in our 2 bedroom villa and we are really excited. Just staying for 4 nights. Three days at the parks-AK, MK and DHS. Have signed up for Pirates League on Sunday morning for the two 7 year old boys. The hard part is that they will want to swim at night and the make-up will come off. I really love the size of OKW. Garden Grocer delivering groceries and booze tonight. I own at OKW and have always thought about staying somewhere else but the size of the villas and the tranquility of OKW always bring me back. We like staying in Miller's Road area--buildings 18 and 20. I will report back when I return next week. Let's hope the condition of the villas is good especially since we are bringing friends with us. Any questions or things you want me to check on? Let me know. I plan on checking on the refurbishment progress.

Have a wonderful trip! I was just thinking that when my friend and I return with our kids (5 total) a 2bdroom at okw would probably fit us perfectly. The last time we went we had 2 rooms at CSR and she thought that was great.

Have fun! We used to always request Miller's Road too....That is until we discovered buildings 45 and 46!

Just back from OKW. Spent four nights nights with another family in a two bedroom unit in building 20, 1st floor. I really like the Miller's Road area since it is close to the bus stop and a close walk to the HH area. I also like the satellite pool behind our building.

Condition of villa-Overall, I would give the overall condition an 8 out of 10. The only maintenance and housekeeping issues we faced were:

1. Front hallway closet off the track
2. Bedroom phones did not have a dial tone
3. Toaster did not work
4. Mold in master bathroom shower ceiling

All of these issues were fixed within a couple of hours after a phone call. Yes, the villa is looking a little worn out but not very much at all. Yes, the furniture looks a little dated and the carpet is starting to show some wear. These were minor issues.

Atmosphere-We love the laid back atmosphere of OKW. We only had 4 nights and 3 full days on this trip. All 3 days were spent at the parks so we really did not get to do many activities at OKW. I would have liked to have taken a bike ride, take the boat to Downtown Disney, etc. but no time.

Bus Service-Great. Never waited for more than 10 minutes. I guess I was lucky several times since the bus was waiting for me as we approached the bus stop.

This is my 4th time at OKW and I did not know they had outside movies by the firepit/pool. That was pretty cool.

Service-The service by everyone, especially the bellmen, was great. Grocery delivery by gardengrocer.com was good as always.

Parks-The parks were not busy at all. DHS was the busiest one but still not very busy.

Question: How were the beds? Comfortable, or like sleeping on a concrete slab?

The beds were OK. Not like the wonderful beds at a Marriott or Westin. We checked all 3 of the beds and two were firm and one was medium firmness. Not a bog deal to us.
