Then came the Mouse. (more to come on this photo...)
PICT1003_1.jpg

So it just hit me that I forgot to tell you about this picture.

I want you to look closely at it. Look beyond Lil'l Diz & The Mouse. At the table behind us, sat a nice young family. This family had 1 son who appeared to be between 18 months-2years. They plopped him in his highchair, placed a DVD player in front of him, playing 'Dora'. As he zoned completely into his DVD and the carachters came by, they told them to go stand behind their ds and pose. The mom or dad, would then go infront of the little guy, yell his name a few times to get him to look up and then SNAP, they would take his picture.

It really was an odd thing to watch...

He missed all of the fun.

Sad, really... poor little guy...

How weird :confused3 what was the point in going to a character meal if he just watched a DVD :confused3

probably just for the photo ops. i have a friend who has a almost-3-year-old. for awhile there she'd always bring his dvd player when we went out to eat together just to keep him entertained, but he's grown out of that now. but she would NEVER, EVER take it to a disney restaurant where there were going to be characters! what a wasted opportunity for the kid to have some real fun!

Have you ever heard Robert Munsch read his stories live? Or on dvd? I highly recommend this... especially stories like Mortimer. Because after you've heard HIM do them you HAVE to read them the same way. In our house Mortimer is always read at top volume... listener participation is required.

Love You Forever still makes you cry.

Hi Punkin-

I agree, those little DVD players can come in handy sometimes. You bet I was the first one to plop one infront of TINK on the plane. We tried our hardest to zone her out...:rotfl:

It was just sad to see it at a time that would have been a great experience. oh well...

You and your mom should do it. What a special memory you would have. And no waiting around for the BOYS!

I do not remember HOOK. What was it about...I never remember names of movies!

Just found this and read the the whole thing (who really cares about how I do on my psychopathology exam tommorrow? :rolleyes1 ). You are doing a great job, I love it!

You were pumping out the pages yesterday...go girl! I was however a bit worried that I caused a commotion, with my SOG comments... I just don't want my friend to stay anywhere below par...since they have had such a tough year! A few of those comments left me....

:cool1: YOU GO GIRL! PUMP EM OUT!:cool1:

more pleasepopcorn::

Coming up...hopefully today! I have a date with McD's play area (I will not eat junk...I promise), after preschool...but I am going to try to get it done at NAP TIME! I already got my oodles of pictures downloaded...

Are you kidding?!?!? I LOVE reading about your trip!! (You didn't tell us all of it!!) I feel like I am on vacation with you guys - we will totally have to do that someday with our families. :grouphug: The three DS's and Tink would have a blast!!

CHOP CHOP…4 real!

My wonderful DH had unpacked most of our things, by the time we got back.:cloud9: After I got my sleepy Angel tucked in, I unpacked and put away some of the extras. It really felt great to be unpacked for real! We had now been in WDW for 3 days, and were living out of suitcases….I hate that feeling!

My DH & I shared the carrot cake that my lil’l guy & I brought home, while we discussed the day and planned the next one. We decided to change our plans a bit and head to MK, to again attempt haircuts. We were going to aim for opening. I have never seen any of the Parks open and it was on MY list of things to for sure do.

It didn’t happen. :sad1: We never once saw the opening of any of the parks on this trip…We did however make it to MK minutes after rope drop. We got ourselves to the Barber Shop as quick as we could get our tootsies to move. Princessjv & family quick is not quick enough. There were already about 4 families in front of us. Each with multiple haircuts. We took our claim to snips and stood and stood…stood some more…yet more. It took close to an hour, but we were not moving. I chatted it up with the lady behind me & her family, who was having her youngest sons haircut. I suggested he get a ‘do’ with a colored gel MICKEY and sprinkles. He wasn’t going for it… She huffed and puffed a bit, as we were all trying to as patiently as we could wait. It is really hard to wait in line at the Barber. You have this feeling that you should be waiting in line for a ride or attraction…not a haircut. After all, you can wait in line at home at any Great Clips for that.

Ahhh, but it wouldn’t be a DISNEY cut! It wouldn’t be as special to sit in one of those Main Street USA Barber Shop chairs and get a ‘do’, from a Disney Barber!

DH, let Tink loose and had to chase her & Lil’Diz around while I stood. They found it really fun to run and run. Lil’Diz Man thought it was even funnier to have Tink run and run, because of her shoes. You see this MOMMA had put Tinks BSQUEAKY’s on. If you have never seen these, they are cute little European looking shoes for small kiddos. They have fun colors and styles for boys and girls. Today’s variety were cute Pink Sandal’s. The only difference between these shoes and any other is that THEY SQUEAK! :scared:

Yep, with every step she took, they squeaked back at her. So, since she moves fast…they sounded like e errr…e eerrr…e eerrr.e er e er e er e er e er e er (say it as fast as you can. That’s what everyone heard):scared1:

I think we bothered the lady behind us. My DH saw her roll the eyes :sad2: a few times. Ohh Well, if she lived with Tink, she would have her in those shoes too. So we let her run for a bit, hoping that she would be nice & pooped out by the time it was her turn. At least we knew where she was…at all times!

We were all really excited. This was Tink’s first cut. I had waited over 2 years to cut her locks of love! We were however very worried that she would not fair well. To this point she was not always thrilled about men, so I requested the nice lady. We talked up the haircut all morning (and all hour in line). As we got closer to the head of the line, we showed Tink the chair and were lucky to have a little boy sitting nicely in it, getting his first cut too. When it was her turn, she walked right up and let the Barber CM pick her up and put her in. Before the CM started the cut, she decorated Tink with MICKEY stickers and they gave her a handful of princess Pixie Dust (a mixture of white & pink carriage, castle, pumpkin confetti).

Tink did a great job! She sat very still (for her, still) and was a big girl! I asked for a shoulder length bob. The cut was good, however it was a bit long in back in compared to the front…oh well, we still thought she was SOO CUTE! After they cute her hair the Barber told her that she EARNED HER EARS and gave her a set of MICKEY EARS with first haircut on the back. They usually give girls pink, but they were out (black is fine with us). I did learn a Barber Shop Secret…They have a fake wood burning stove in the shop…inside is where they keep all of the extra ‘first haircut’ MICKEY EARS.

As she was getting all done up, lil’l Diz got a cut and color to. Hehehe

His color was in the variety of colored gel. Red…his favorite color! They spiked his hair with the red gel, and then added a lot of pixie dust (MICKEY HEADS & NORMAL CONFETTI)!

On the back, they gave him a MICKEY!

IMG_0283-1.jpg

I will warn, that this stuff doesn’t dry well. It may be that they gooped it in, or that it was a warm day. But it got all over all day! He never could lean back on any rides and had to not look up, because it rubbed on his shirt collar. My suggestion would be to have the MICKEY head put a bit higher up, so that it won’t touch any shirts.

I highly recommend getting this special treatment done. My boys got a lot of comment all day and Lil’l Diz Man felt really:cool2: cool, that he was different and getting special attention. What a great feeling for him! He was the center of attention for once! YAAA!:cool1:

Did you catch that I said, “my boys”? If you did…bonus points for you!

Yes, DH too got the treatment. On top, he chose clear gel, but he got a green gel MICKEY head on the back of his head!

Oh my goodness, how adorable they look in their new 'dos!

But wait - no pic of your DH's hair masterpiece?!

These pics are so cute!!

I agree with PrincessV, I wanna see pics of your DH!

Don't worry, pretty sure I aced that exam . . . but if I had done bad my professor would understand- he is a WDW fan too. :)

Sorry I'm so late to your TR! I'm all caught up now and I love it! Your kids are soooooo adorable! They remind me of mine at that age, only my daughter was the older one. I'm happy to see that you got a Boardwalk view villa! You did the right thing waiting for the 4th floor room! :thumbsup2 That view is wonderful, isn't it?! We stayed in a 5th floor 2-bedroom Boardwalk view villa for Christmas, and we're spoiled rotten now. I really enjoyed reading your TR so far, and I can't wait to see what happens next! Thanks for the dining reports, too! :goodvibes

Take care,
Michelle

Ok... they are just too cute for words! I love that concerned expression on Tink's face in the first 2 photos. The gel Mickey on the back of the head is very nifty too... and yes, where oh where is the daddy pic? Hmmm?

I too used to have a pair of Bsqueaky runners. Annoyed the heck out of me. Actually only the left one squeaked. They were expensive shoes too so I just wore 'em til I wore 'em out. Because I'm stubborn like that.

the haircuts are just adorable! and i LOVE the pic of tink after she got her hair cut....it looks like she's pouting and what a pouter she is! :rotfl: and i vote for a pic of your DH's haircut too!!!
