Off-Site Hotels-How Busy??

Which one? That is prime spring break time. So, the area in general is a bit more busy. However, I'm sure not every hotel is overflowing to the point of craziness.

I can tell you the off site villa / home rental business is booming, especially in March, and much of it is already booked solid for March/early April (Spring Break) this year. This has been the busiest Jan for bookings our MC has seen in years! I heard (here on the DIS) that WDW resorts have been completely full in March for some time now, which would mean it's all spilling over to other hotels, housing, etc.

If you want to go in March you better get looking fast! I could also suggest you try a "general inquiry" to Windsor Hills and see if anyone has any homes left (not likely, but you can try!)...good luck!

We already have ressies, but my DH complained the other day about the price, saying it would be cheaper to stay offsite with Military rate. Think I posted this in another post...anyway I looked into the Comfort Suites Maingate East, next to Old Town, mainly because it was rated #1 on Tripadvisor, it looks nice and would save us over $200. and we could stay a extra night.
If it is really busy though where the pool will be to crowded for the kids, I'd rather just keep the ressies I have with the POP.

there is another better reason to kept your reservations.

if that many people are coming to Orlando - then there is a good chance the parks will close. the close to offsiters first (parking lot get full) - but then later if people still come (bus system for WDW) - they close the park.

now I hate to be crowded - so going early, leaving and coming back later.

I hope this works - but who knows there are ton of people who now know to do this.

will you have your own transportation - if not another good reason to stay with Disney. DME from the airport, then WDW bus system. that $200 would go to a rental car fast. (and you would probably need even more)

was SOG full?

Yes, SOG is full, I try everytime we make plans to go down there, I've even tried many months ahead of time and constantly check in, but nothing, plus I here they seem to always overbook...
Sure didn't know they closed the park, interesting. We have our own car so that won't be a problem.
Thanks for the link to the Swan, but I'll have to pass a little to ritzy for this country girl!!;) :)
