We actually live in Orlando and I want to take my son to both of these activities.

What is a convient location to see the water pageant? I have the schedule of hotels and times but does anyone have a recommendation of where to see it if just going for that?

I read the Chip and Dale sing a long is free for Disney resort guests, any info for people not staying on site?

I don't know about the Chip and Dale sing along, but for viewing the water pageant any of the resorts on the list are good, I have watched from the GF and the Poly beach and can recomend both.

The singalong that features Chip & Dale and a nightly Disney movie is a great, FREE activity.

We did this activity a few years ago when we stayed offsite. We drove to Ft Wilderness and parked near the petting area then took a bus to the Meadow Trading Post area and walked to the campfire spot. It is a nice short walk from the trading post to the outdoor amphitheater. Busses continue to run after the evening's event, so you will be able to get back to your car. If you want, you can also get to/from the campfire area by taking the boat from MK to Ft Wilderness, then a bus to the Meadows.

The campfires are lit around sundown. You can purchase snacks and s'more making kits at the Chuck Wagon snack area, or you can bring in your own food/s'mores. A cowboy CM comes out and leads everyone in singing campfire songs, as well as some Disney favorite tunes. Then Chip & Dale come out and pose for pictures with everyone who wants. I don't remember if they sign autographs, though. A little later, a different Disney movie each night plays on the huge outdoor screen.

There are a lot of benches available, and many folks bring their own camp chairs or just spread out blankets. It is a really fun and relaxing way to spend an evening at Ft Wilderness.

You can see the Electrical Water Pageant from the beaches or Marinas on the open lake side of any of the MK area resorts.

Its just a very short (5-7 minutes) "show" that takes place ON the lagoon.

Although Electrical Water Pageant generally follows the schedule below... Inclement weather can cause cancellation of the pageant.
Polynesian Resort -- 9 p.m.

Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.

Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.

Fort Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.

Contemporary Resort -- 10:05 p.m.

Magic Kingdom -- 10:20 p.m. (only during extended MK park hours)

Note that when the Magic Kingdom Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m., the Electrical Water Pageant runs about 7-20 minutes later.

Electrical Water Pageant:
Those words conjure some phantasmagorical display of
dazzling lightning-like high voltage interplay with glittering aquatic delights, no?

Well...

My favorite saying about these kind of "simple" things comes from Hawkeye Pierce on the old M*A*S*H TV show.
"It's not much, but it's really nothing."

Although I never miss a chance to see it... inappropriate "over-anticipation"
can be built up over the "Electrical Water Pageant".

People seem to be expecting to see "Spectromagic on the water", when it is really closer to oversized "Lite Brite" pegs mounted on some barges,

with a "Casio Keyboard" music track.

Don't get me wrong, I still love it, and it's a piece of WDW History, but first-timers, please don't get your hopes set too HIGH.

I think the Chip and Dale campfire is available to all Disney Guests.

Hi, do you know if there's a way to "time" this correctly and if even possible? I'm staying at the Polynesian first week in May. If I wanted to go to Chip n Dale singalong and smores (I think at 8pm) and then if we leave at 9 pm via boat from Ft Wilderness to MK (will boat still be running?) will we get to see the electrical water pageant on the water as we make our way back to MK? Does that make sense?

2. (will boat still be running?)

3. will we get to see the electrical water pageant on the water as we make our way back to MK?

4. Does that make sense?

1. I'd have to check the time, but that sounds right.
2. Yes.
3. Maybe.
4. The EWP will be performing for the Grand Floridian between 9:15 and 9:20, or so.
