Hi. We are a family of six - 14, 4, 3, & 2. We currently have ressies at Poly Conc, but I am rethinking the expense. I liked the idea of the monorail with little ones and the constant ease of getting drinks and snacks for my little ones.

I have looked into staying off-site and wonder what the "downside" is? I have looked into the Carib Royalle and Holiday Inn Family Suites off-site and they are less expensive.

I know that my younger kiddos would be apprehensive staying in a different room other so that is why I have nixed the connecting room idea. I have considered booking a 1 bedroom using DVC points that I will rent, putting a air mattress on the floor for my little ones in the bedroom with us and letting my big one use the fold out couch - but then I have heard the whole maximum number is 4.

Any advice would be so appreciative. We have never taken a family vacation with all of us and think this will be the chance of a lifetime for our kids and do not want to feel that we could have made better decisions. Thanks!

With your little ones you will definitely want to stay on site to return to the room for naps, and just to be able to be more flexible and use transportation less. The Dolphin has a Jr. suite that sleeps 6 and has a separate bedroom. Dolphin is a great location and has some good deals. I think if you rent DVC, you will have to rent a 2 bedroom. That would still be pretty expensive, I think.

A one bedroom at a DVC resort does only sleep 4 plus one under the age of 3. They provide a pack and play for the baby. With your family, you would definitely need a two bedroom.

Have you thought about a cabin at Fort Wilderness? They sleep six and have a kitchen.

Absolutely! Stay with Disney! We learned this the hard way at a DTD resort.

I was also going to reccommend a cabin at Ft Wilderness. AAA offers a 25%discount, which puts the price on par with a maderate room (and fridge rental).

You get a double bed and bunk beds in the bedroom and a double sized murphy bed in the living room, which faces the bedroom, so you might feel ok sleeping in there with DH, or you can give your Daughter the privacy. You also get a full kitchen and a petting zoo! Transportation can be involved, so i do reccommend that you rent a car.
