Of those who have been to WDW and the MK did you think it was dirty compared to DL?

Its quite the lengthy title...
When there WDW and Mk in Nov of last year I noticed little things, gang scribing on the paint and plexiglass, rust bubbling up through painted areas, and gum on lots of things. It was only the MK that I noticed this disrepair at, obviously its the oldest park at WDW but what gives?

We have been there 3 times in the last 3 years and I have never noticed any thing like that. I felt the park was very clean. Disney is Disney and they keep their parks really clean. You will notice the occasional ride that needs a referb, and that's in any disney park, where the paint will be peeling or chipped and certain aspects of the ride isn't working correctly. For example we were just in Disneyland last week and Indy is in dire need of a referb, bunch of stuff not working and it looks run down.

I can easily say that Disneyland is cozier, cleaner and better landscaped than Magic Kingdom. It also does not seem to be repainted as often as DL ....BUT it is still magical, wonderful and I wish I could snap my fingers and be there now. But DL is treated much more like an antique than MK. Animal Kingdom and Epcot were very nicely maintained compared to MK.

I was just saying to my DH that I think WDW is much cleaner than DLR. when we went last week to DLR there was trash everywhere. It was kinda gross. People just threw things on the ground.

I don't know, maybe WDW and the MK was so built up in my head that I expected more. I do agree that the other parks in WDW were spotless, it just seemed the MK was neglected, it could be that I'm partial to Disneyland.

Only talking of Disneyland, my husband HATES toon town he thinks it looks so run down.

I think partiality has a lot to do with it. A lot of people who've never been to Disneyland adore the MK because it represents that Disney magic to them. But when you've been to Disneyland, the MK feels completely different and can sometimes underwhelm you because it's not Walt's park.

I'm in the camp that feels all of WDW is clean, except for MK.
I've never felt that the DL resort was dirty...well, except for one time and I think that was a v. new incident in a bathroom *shudder*.

Oh, I absolutely think the MK as a whole is less "kept" than DL. It is particularly noticeable in the bathrooms, which have always been filthy when I've been to the MK. DL's bathrooms always seem to be clean (give or take a few exceptions).

I have been going to DL my whole life..I went to WDW one time in 2006..

I think they are both equally clean..but..one time I was in DL bathroom over by the fire station on Main Street..and..I heard a woman say to her companion..WDW would never put up with a dirty bathroom like this one....I thought it looked pretty good..considering the line to get in was out the door..Anyway..I guess how each park looks just depends on who is doing the looking..

I thought WDW was clean but when I was there I did feel that it felt a little dirtier then DL. I wouldn’t call it really dirty by any means but there did seem to be more trash scattered around. We went to WDW in July though so it was crowded and they do have more park space to clean then DL.

I agree with this totally, as we just got back from WDW last week.....

First let me say my wife, kids and I are all about Disney and love all things Disney so this is in no way meant to be critical. We have been to WDW 5 times in the last 7 years and live on the East Coast. Last week I was in California for a business trip and took my wife. We went to Disneyland for the day and were dissapointed in it. We felt it was dirty, there was a lot of trash laying around and a lot of attractions looked worn. We also didn't feel the Disney magic and the CM's weren't like the CM's at WDW.

We live in California & go to DLR usually a few times per year. We were at WDW for Christmas last year & noted several times how much dirtier it was. There was trash just everywhere, and I didn't notice all the street sweepers we see around DLR every time you turn around.

We also noticed that CM's at WDW did not seem to have the crowd control that DLR CM's do. A great example of this was the opening rush to TSM -- we've done it at WDW & DLR and DLR is INCREDIBLY more organized. I actually thought I might be trampled at WDW!!!!

Granted, I am partial to DLR, but this is my two cents!

i dont know to much bout wdw. we went once an yes i noticed dirty bathrooms an parents not tossing dirty dipers away (i had a baby at that time an knew when changed him it goes in the trash. I dont know who dosent)
I did knotice alot of things go smoother at dl an the cms are always bright an helpful. wdw. Ok i was upset about my ride mess up. an it took me three diffrent cms to get some one to help. but they did an we got a free pic so that was good

I think maybe im biess since been to dl 7 or 8 times an only wdw 1 time so I may be wrong on my oppinions

I was really impressed with this too! We were at the GCH entrance. During the weekdays it was just a normal ropedrop which was fine for the crowd that was there...then the weekend came. They had us line up at the rope and the line was stretching into Condor Flats...then at about a quarter till they walked then line forward through the Grizzly River Rapids back trail. Quite impressive, imo. I don't know if they did that before the construction walls narrowed the walkways, but it was great thinking nontheless.

Before our 1st family trip in 2006 (DH had never been, I hadn't been in 10+yrs), our friends were commenting on how clean Disney still is. They said if you mistakenly drop something on the floor, by the time you turn around to pick it up and throw away and it's gone. Magic garbage gnomes of some sort :goodvibes
Sure enough, our first night we were in line at the Princess meet and greet, and my DD dropped her popcorn right at the front of the line. I was mortified. But within seconds CMs were scooping it away and moving us along to meet Cinderella. I was very amazed. I was also amazed that you rarely saw CMs picking up trash, but it always seemed so clean!

Will be interesting to see if our trip this May (2 years later) is any different...

Been to WDW six times and DL twice now. Loved both. Love DL more.
Now in regards to being clean I would say they are both the same. I've seen dirty areas in both. DL is so compact that it can seem dirtier if you did pick out a spot.

If I've said it once then I've said it a hundred times. WDW is too spread out. I understand why it is but there are so few rides and attractions per park that it just isn't worth it. And I am the one who thought WDW was the ultimate resort. Now that I've been to DL twice I hold it to a higher level. We are planning to go back to WDW next year during Christmas for our 20th Anniversary.

We also didn't feel the Disney magic and the CM's weren't like the CM's at WDW.

I think a person is probably biased toward the park they love the most..I am partial to DL..because being a California native..I have been going there since birth..I have only been to WDW once..and..while it was very nice..I didn't feel the magic toward it that I do toward DL...I think those of you from that part of the country..probably feel that way toward WDW..
BTW..in no way..could I say either park is dirty..
