Odds of moving 7DMT to an earlier FP+ window?

Booked MK fastpass+ for October 6 and 7 this morning and was shutout of 7DMT on the 6th and could only get a 3:05 window on the 7th, which is later than we plan to be at MK that day. Should I just dump the 3:05 or keep it and keep trying to modify it to an earlier window?

As of now, it looks like we'll try to rope drop it one or both days.

It also depends on when your other FPs are scheduled. If you have 2 FPs for early in the day, when you attempt to Modify 7DMT, those two time periods are blocked out of showing availability for 7DMT.

If you really wanted to search for someone's cancellation, it's best not to have any FPs booked so that you have the opportunity to see what's available for the full day.

What other rides were you FPing that day?

It may be best to hold onto your FPs until you complete MK Day #1. Try to rope drop 7DMT that day and if successful, cancel Day #2's FP.

That would be better than the opposite strategy of Canceling out all 3 and hoping for a possibly elusive set of 7DMT FPs.

Thanks, that makes sense to me. I'm starting to worry that the lack of FPs 60-61 days out mean the crowds will be much higher than predicted.

I think the shorter park hours and all the parties are to be blamed for the lack of FPs.

I've been trying to move mine to an earlier window...but so far no luck, I don't know, if I should be checking anywhere else for a heads up, besides searching on the actual Disney site?
... mine is for September, and I booked the second it opened 61 days out. At that point, only the afternoon was left. We will see!

If one of your days is an extra hour day, (and you stay on property) that was a great time to ride 7DMT. I could only get a fp for 6pm the second or third day but by then I'd already ridden it twice, so it wasn't a big deal like I thought it'd be- ended up dropping the fp and riding Thunder Mountain a couple more times.

It was my experience that that fp was one of the hardest to get when I was there. People don't seem to drop it. And the line is not terribly short at closing. But it is a good one to ride at closing because if you don't mind staying a little late, it's a fun line in the dark and it beats being stuck in the Main Street crowd!
