Just trying to figure out if it is going to be possible to get a single night at AKV club level at 7mths out. I'm trying to plan a 2day/1night escape (just me!) and that's where I'd like to stay to make it nice and relaxing. ;)

Anyway, I haven't noticed any threads speaking to wait lists and such for those rooms but I'm sure there must be.

TIA!

I think that it will be increasingly hard to get AKV club level at the 7-month point due to the increased number of members once Kidani opens up for sale. That is assuming that Kidani will not have club level. There have been no indications that it will.

December would be highly unlikely.

Even early Dec?

ESPECIALLY early Dec, when club rooms are more of a bargain. There was a thread in early January titled something like "Stop Stealing my Concierge Room" where AKV members were posting there successes (and failures) with booking Club rooms at exactly 11 months out for early December.

I have been wondering about December 08 for just plain old AKV, not club level. It will be our 15th anniversary, and we are planning a trip. We are going to use our developers points, so we will not have the benefit of the 11 month window at AKV for our December trip. I was wondering if we'll be able to get a studio for December 14-21 at AKV at the 7 month mark. I really have my heart set on it, because it will be our first trip "home". But if we can't get AKV, I hope we can get something! I am hoping for the best!

I'm looking for any date really. Would MS be able to look at a range of dates and see if anything was available? Is there anyway to look at availability online? Seems like such a hassle to have to call and wait on hold just to check dates. I could book a cash ressie for AKV studio club level though at pretty much anytime..thought they were DVC though and should be available to DVC and not locked out in the hopes of a cash ressie?
(sorry but I like to know the ins and out of things! LOL)

ETA~ also do I have a better chance if I have a few different dates and ask to be waitlisted?

I think it will be very difficult.

I think the owners will stack the waitlist in the 8-11 month window.

With only 10 units it will not be easy.

You can book non DVC concierge on cash. AKL has concierge on the 5th floor for cash guests.

DVC AKV concierge is on the 6th floor, so there would be no way to link the ressies or try to piece together a points and cash concierge reservation.

oh wow! I had no idea there were only 10 units! Hmm, I guess to get that I'll have to bite the bullet and buy in for 25pts. I guess that's where my tax rebate will go if we get it! :rotfl:

As an AKV owner I booked a reservation for September today and one for late-October for friends yesterday. Both times I was told ALL of September and October are currently sold out for club/concierge. I was told there was a studio available for some of the Friday and Saturday nights during early-November, but that Sunday - Thursday was sold out through the current booking date of 12/25.

I wouldn't count on there being any availability at the 7-month window! However, I do personally believe in waitlist miracles!

And I got the impression that you didn't realize that you cannot book a DVC villa (at any resort) until the 7-month booking window through CRO. Your only choice at this point is an AKLodge club/conciege room for cash.

I know it's not happy news, but it does at least answer your question.

Perhaps this is beginner's luck, but we were able to get 3 of the four nights we wanted at AKV concierge booking at the 7 month window. :woohoo: I called on 10/02/07 for a checkin 4/28/08 with a checkout of 5/02/08.

I didn't know about day-by-day booking when I called in October.

I was pleasantly surprised that I got the first 3 nights at the 7 month window and they have waitlisted me for our last night of 5/1. I booked a savannah view for 5/1 in case the waitlist does not come through. I do think it will be harder to book at the 7 month window as more and more people become familiar with DVC concierge at AKV.

I never hurts to check availability. If you don't even check availability, then for sure you won't get it since you didn't even try. ;) And a little over a year ago I got a 2 BR at BCV at 63 days out when even our home BWV was sold out. :cheer2: So, it pays to check!

Good luck!

And when we say 10 units, we mean five studios and five one bedroom villas. Or five two bedroom villas in total. Not too many for non-AKV owners to even try to get. You have a better chance of getting a BW view at BWV at 7 months than AKV Concierge.

I only wanted one night in a studio in July and called at the 7 month window and got it :)

There's actually 5 2-bedroom lock-offs that are concierge.

Your sig line seems to indicate you own AKV. If you bought where you want to stay, make your reservation there NOW. Don't wait for 7 months. :confused3

I OWN AKV. I tried to make a studio reservation for club level for a Saturday night, Dec 1, 2007 exactly on the day club level reservations opened for everyone last June, 2007. At 9:08 am that day, I was waitlisted for Dec. 1 for club level studio. It NEVER came through.

You have no chance, essentially, for early Dec if you are not an owner. And little chance even if you are.

We agree and will add that as every month goes by, it will become harder and harder to book those "very few" concierge level rooms. We have two trips planned this year, staying club level. One in April, one in November. I told my wife to enjoy these two trips, cause I'm not sure if we will get a chance again in the future.

I will be making my ressie using developers points. It is my understanding that you can only make a ressie with these at the 7 month window.

I tried to get concierge 2 bedroom for Dec 17-18-19. Member services said that it was not available and there was quite a waiting list already. Oh Well
