Odds of a wait list coming through

I am trying to rent points through David's for 7 nights at AKL in a 1 bedroom standard view in October but have been put on a wait list. Anyone have experience with this? Are the odds of this reservation coming through likely or should I be looking at a different resort? Thank you. This is (hopefully) my first time renting DVC points

You're on David's waitlist for AKV points, not a DVC waitlist. AKV will have plenty of availability for months to come. You just need someone with AKV points willing to rent them out that far in advance. Wait three months and it will likely be cheaper and still available.

OP wants a standard view and there is no availability for 7 consecutive days in Oct now. She most likely is waitlisted with DVC.

I do not have any experience with AKL waitlist. BWV standard waitlists are difficult if you are waitlisted for the entire 7 nights. I have had luck getting 1 or 2 days though.

I'm not sure where you got that information. One bedrooms at both Jambo and Kidani and wide open with availability every single day in October. Even the "value" category is wide open, with only four days unavailable in October.

I was told there is plenty of availability, just no one who has the points to rent with David's. As this is my first time attempting to rent points for a trip, I wasn't sure if I would be wasting my time waiting or if I should stick it out. I've never dealt with David's Vacation Club rentals before. Thank you all for your responses

You are on the David's wait list, not a wait list with DVC member services.

The odds on that really come down to if David's has someone show up with points with a proper use year. The room you want is often available at the 7-month window, and David's can usually fulfill most 7-month requests. Basically, they either need someone with AKL points with a proper use year for an October booking -- which they don't have right now -- or they can try to book it in March. Booking an AKL 1BR in March is mostly likely.

David's point availability Gary's probably in a weekly basis so you might be in luck. The good thing is AKV should have availability for a while yet.
