Odds of a 2bdr in September

My friend gave me 175pts to use since I was going to have to cancel our trip due to having to pay funeral expenses for my FIL. He booked me and the 4 kids in a 1bdr at OKW. He now tonight offered to upgrade us to a 2bdr or even 2 studios as DH is now coming with us. The preference being a 2bdr (he wants to TREAT us I am incredibly blessed by this. I am okay with either option as he will NOT take a dime from us! We are going 9/17-9/24. What would be my odds of getting a 2br? Or 2 studios together?

Two studios will not connect and you and your husband will have to split up because the kids won't be able to stay alone in the studio.

Your friend needs to call MS tomorrow morning to see what is available. That's the only way to find out for sure.

There is no way they can guarantee them to be close to each other. They could be in different buildings or different floors.

My thought would be that you would have better odds getting the 2 bedroom than the studios but it would just be a guess. The 2 bedroom takes more points than the studios and I have always heard that the studios book first. That being said, we were able to book a 2 bedroom at VWL for 2 nights for our precruise stay Labor Day just a couple of weeks ago. Good luck and have a great trip!

Thanks! I am NOT picky.. hey its free! I know inventory is different but CRO is only showing OKW and SSR.. if thats all thats available for DVC inventory, which has a better pool? That is my kids favoritre party!

What you see on CRO has nothing to do with what is available for points. Your friend is going to have to call MS as soon as possible to check availability.

Oh I know.. but I figured if CRO only had SSR or OKW, then odds of BWV or AKV or VWIL would be odd. He called today and said he waitlisted and they told him odds were pretty good he would get it He said they wouldnt send him a new confirmation, he would have to log into his account and check periodically? Is that correct?

I don't know why they wouldn't send him a new confirmation, but he can certainly see the new reservation (if/when it comes through) on the website. He can print the new confirmation off the website. It's also a good way for him to see that the 1 bedroom reservation was canceled - he doesn't want to end up with both.

Thank you.. its been a rough road for my kids. And my DH and MIL too. I told DH I filed the claim for his life ins his dad had for him (only $1600) and he said good, my mom is going to need $2K to pay August bills Thank GOD my friend was so generous as otherwise there is NO way we could afford to go now... almost $6K loaned out and she still hasnt gotten the claim forms for the life ins! Ya know.. there are still some good people out there!
