My brother (a man in his mid-fifties) gave my dog, Max, a bamboo tostonera like this:

I'm really not sure what bro was thinking. What would a canine do with such a thing? :lmao: It's not as if Max eats plantains on a regular basis. He wrapped it and put it under our tree, clearly labeled, "To: Max From: Uncle M."

(Please forgive me if a thread like this was started already. This gift cracked me up, so I thought I'd share. :teeth: )

My sisterin law gave my son two metal structures. ONe of Big Ben and one of the Empire State Building.:confused3 I know ds is an engineer major but

we all got real leather keychains...

none of them had any designs or anything on them... just a hunk of leather on a keyring.

DH and i are vegetarian by the way... :confused3 ...why would we want cow on a keyring?

:lmao:

My nephew (29) gave everyone a chia head. I mean everyone from my great nephew (3) to my Mom (84). Talk about 1 stop shopping!

Not my family, but my friend posted on Facebook that he received 36 rolls of toilet paper in the Yankee swap gift exchange. :rotfl:

At least its a gift everyone can use. :goodvibes

My grandmother gave everyone (her children and grandchildren) a toilet brush.

She likes giving practical things. :thumbsup2
Once again, I guess it is something we can all use! :lmao:

Noooooooo.

Not an xmas thing, but my MIL for a year kept trying to send crab legs home with us (a friend of hers worked on a crab boat and brought them home with him when he visited). What part of no-meat do you not understand????? Plus, I've been veggie since I was a late teenager. I would probably kill us all if I tried to cook meat!

Anyway, hope you find a use for those keychains.

Little mice statues because I like Disney :rolleyes1

These suckers look like rats with the tail not Mickey ;)

DS (age 5) got bacon for the 2nd year in a row

MIL gave me a little pack of lint wipes that you carry in your purse - I cant really figure out what I am supposed to use them for :confused3

My great aunt who is 85 and is a nun usually knits hats and booties for everyone (I mean everyone, adults, kids) they are in completely random color combinations. You might get a green and purple hat, pink and yellow booties or red and brown. The booties are always the same size about a womens 5 (even the men get them lol) We were all very appreciative and thanked her for them. Well, the last 2 years she hasn't been able to knit anymore so she buys these strange gifts now. Last year DS 10 and his cousin both got musical Christmas ties. My 15 yr old brother got one pair of brown socks.

This year DS (who is 11 and 5ft 8, very big kid) got a rubber Hot Wheels watch, it doesn't have a buckle, you're supposed to slip it over your wrist. It doesn't fit of course, but he was polite about it. It wasn't even in a package, so I'm not sure where she got it?? My 16 yr old brother received a pack of Bic pens. I received a little embroiderd (not homemade..) pillow thing that you hand on your door knob I guess. I has a tulip on it and says....you guessed it "Tulip". Not sure what I'm going to do with that :goodvibes Her heart is in the right place though and we're all really thankful that she thought of us.

DBF's grandmother gave "us" (all tags had both our names?) one of these:

except instead of the weasel on it, its a little stuffed cat. there's a button on the ball, and it kinda rolls around on the floor when you press the button.

i think she gave it to us because we have a cat, but it just scares the cat. lol. i think its supposed to be for a small child or a dog. :confused3

it is kind of entertaining for a few minutes though. lol

When my grandma was alive we all got a pair of men's socks, all wool the same color and size??? She would also not wrap them and bring the bag of socks out and passed them out. So she bought a big bag of socks and just gave everyone 1 pair :confused3 :rotfl2:

we would just give them all to dad as he was the only one that could wear them :thumbsup2

My mother gave my husband a picnic blanket ?????

He (nor I, for that matter) has never been on a picnic in all the 20+ years I have known him and we def. are not picnic people.

My in-laws gave each of my older kids a $50 check, so can't complain there. But step- mil had to add in a "gift"....To dd10 she gave a bag of random clothes, with a note saying to have me wash them because she picked them up when she worked at the mission, and she found the underwear in a cabinet....and to ds12 she gave a watch, which doesn't work, and a note saying he could get it fixed, trade it, or throw it away......the baby didn't get a check-she is 7 mos old and got a bag of clothes (all new:thumbsup2) ranging in size from 9 mos to 4T:confused3

BIL and SIL gave us a framed picture of one of their kids....they have two kids?????

Okay---WHAT is up with the bacon?:lmao:

Are we talking a pack of oscar meyer from the grocery store, or like some fancified cured bacon gourmet thing?

And what is your DS's response?

My 6 year old got Anti Monkey Butt Wipes..granted this was a totally random gift exchange game at our family party. It also had a scratch off lotto ticket...she won $50 on that lol...she is still upset about the wipes though

Well, I got some liquid soap, the kind from the Dollar Tree, LOL. That was the oddest one for me. I guess I will use it, but it wasn't what I was expecting when I opened the shirt box.

I posted on another thread: Not a family gift exchange, but for our school faculty party we had a white elephant gift exchange. I got a picture of a coworker's uterus! That's what I get for picking the Disney box! She had had surgery on it and had the laproscopic pic in a frame. I just figured it was a weird picture that came with a frame until somebody else made the connection. My coworkers know I am a very reserved person and thought it was hilarious. Of course they had to make jokes about it the rest of the night! Thankfully, another coworker took pity on me and stole it when it was her turn. I think it will be showing up again next year.
