I cant tell you how many times I have had to hear about how my name is spelled wrong.

I like it when someone says " Oh we/they/I ect... have spelled your name wrong" When I tell them no it correct more people then you will ever know say"Are you sure?" LOL

I have sisters with odd spelled names one is Brandee and the other is Jeanna. They also hear they are mispelled alot .

Anyone else get this ?

Mishell NOT Miss hell ,not Michelle ... just
Mishell LOL

LOL, yeah my name is Angelene, which is why I go by Angela. If they don't spell it wrong (you should see some of the spellings  ), then they butcher how to SAY it. Drove me nuts as a teen, and now I have saddled Remy with the same problem LOL.

I know an Ashlie Roland and an Ashley Rowland I know a Brandi and a Brandy I know a Cody (guy) and a Cotie (girl) I know a Mariah not Maraih or Mairah. I know a Sara, a Sarah and a Sarah. I know a Shelbey and my name is Shelby. I know a Lee a Leigh a Leah and a Leiah, all pronounced the same. I know a Ginnie and a Ginny and a Genny.

Yep no one ever spells my name right! I have saddled my youngest with an unusual spelling of a common name too. She already accepts that most people just dont know how to spell her name.

People are constantly trying to put an H in my name. No no, my parents spelled it right, no extra g's or a's and certainly no h's. M-E-G-A-N just like it should be.

If you come up with a clever spelling for your child's name, they can expect a lifetime of questions, mispronounciations, and misspellings. I don't know if I understand the purpose of unusual spellings. More people say a person's name than read it. What is the attraction of unique spellings? :confused3

I also gave my youngest a odd spelled name
He is Derick with only 1 r People never get it right . He is always in the sports page during wrestling season and it is always spelled wrong

Who is to say what the "right" way to spell a name is . I believe that my name is phonically correct ;)

As for my sons name, he is kinda named after my Dad cause my sister beat me to the name Richard . He goes by Rick, my son needed a name that started with a D per his fathers family tradition .
See there are reasons to make names unique.

My name is Ronna, I have had people put a "H" in it, Rhonna. Then I have had people spell it Rona or even Ronda. :confused3

Is it so hard to spell Ron and then add a "NA" to the end.

See, my name is spelled right. Adding extra letters is just clutter.

My dgd's name is Kyleigh Mae and her brother's (dgs) is Kyle Lee

;) Hi Lindsay Did the Dis spell your name wrong ? I thought it was Lindsey:)

And it takes a name for them to do that? Please.

FYI, Sparx is only 13, let's not be to harsh on her.

My middle name is spelled Michele instead of the regular Michelle. I have actually had people ask me if *I* spelled it wrong.. uhhhh.. no, it was that way when I learned how to spell it LOL

So many people mispell or mispronounce my name, I at times wish I could change it. It's Dania, and pronounced Dane yah but most butcher it. I was named after a family friend.

People constantly misspell and mispronounce my name. It is spelled Lisabeth, not Elisabeth or Elizabeth or Lisa Beth. It is pronounced Lisbet (forget the a and the h) I give up. Everyone calls me Lisa. BTW I prefer Lisbet.

My name is Johnie. John with an e. Not hard by any means but since I am female, people feel the need to call me Joanie, Johnna, Joanne, etc  I'm named after my grandma, Johnie Mae :) (I'm not a Mae though!)

DD is Alysia. It's the Greek spelling of Alicia or Alisha. People mispronounce her name all the time.

And neither of us can get things already personalized :rotfl:

well, you can tell by my screen name:) I'm Rebecca though--I chose Bekki in the fith grade. It doesn't bother me when people get it wrong, it's not their fault I screwed it up:)

People are always adding an s to my last name, because that's more common.

My maiden name was italian, and phonetically it sounds like it starts with an s, but really starts with a c, Everyone got that one wrong

A lot of people mess up my name, usually forgetting the A and calling me Jenny...
My daughter's name is Jacquelyn, not Jacqueline and her nickname is Jacqui not Jackie.... NO K in her name, she learned to say that early on.
so, yeah, we're both use to it.

Johnie~ same for us... very rarely can we find anything personalized for us!!!
