We are in the process of buying a house. We are supposed to close on Friday, but I doubt this will happen as we are still waiting on a piece of paperwork, and......it's a looong story.

Anyway, our agent knows that we will be at Disney next week, but I wanted to know the following.

If said paperwork that we are waiting on can be transmitted to us by fax, can/will the front desk allow me to use their fax number to get the paperwork that I need? I will have my computer, as I am in grad school, but I will not have a printer......(hmmm maybe I shoudl lookup the location of a nearby Kinkos just in case).

Also, will the front desk send faxes for me (and yes I do expect to pay for that)?

Thanks. I just want to let my agent know that we are still available and in contact to do house business.

Yes, I'm 99% certain that your resort can send/receive faxes for you. I'd call the front desk to verify before you leave - and to get the fax # for the resort and any procedure that needs to be followed.

Have a great trip and a successful home purchase! :)

You absolutely can receive faxes and send them. I don't recall how Disney charges - some hotels charge for any fax, some only charge per page for incoming faxes.

For sure you can access fax machines at BCV, BWV, Contemporary, and GF. They are convention locations and they have Business Centers.

Ohh I forgot about that...we are starting off our stay at BCV and ten moving over to AKV.......

Thanks. I know the DISsers will answer any question, as well as provide alternatives.

Yes, I know that can happen. When DS graduated from college, he was lucky enough to get a job, but at the last minute. We were taking him to WDW to celebrate his graduation, and his new boss faxed his contract to the resort. When it came in, the front desk called. We told them beforehand that we were expecting it, and there was supposed to be a charge, but the resort didn't charge us.

Yes, we did exactly that about 6 years ago when we closed on our log home. They faxed the paperwork to OKW, and a realestate agent from Florida met us and notorized the paper work and faxed it back. It was no big deal, and only took about 90 minutes out of our touring day counting the transpotation back to the resort to do the signing. We actually signed it in the living room of our OKW GV!!:thumbsup2

Just a quick suggestion...

Today's mortgage world requires a lot of documentation to close. You may receive a fax for up to 100 pages. This could get quite expensive. Plus, if 1 piece of paper is missing or not signed correctly, the loan will not fund and you will not close.

I would suggest setting up a gmail, hotmail or yahoo email account. Then ask the closing attorney or title company to email the closing package to you. After it is sent, you can find a computer/printer at a business center or community hall to download the documents and print.

You will also need to find a Notary. Most bank branches or pack/ship type stores have one.

Congratulations on your new home purchase!

I think our document package was around 60 pages, and it was not expensive considering all that. I doubt it cost us more than 150 extra to do it by fax.

Thanks for the info.

I'm not awaiting the closing package, just a piece of paper or two that amends the closing date. Anyway, just spoke with our agent yesterday and it's looks probable that we will close on Friday (oh how I hope) otherwise we will close in June when we come back from Disney. I AM REALLY HOPING FOR FRIDAY......darn short sales and their issues. Our agent is just waiting on something from the seller's bank to be cleared up, so we will know tomorrow.

I know there's a notary at the sales center for DVC at SSR. I think I remember hearing that there was one at OKW when we thought we might need one there, So I'll bet you can find them around at resorts.
