Interesting. My nails are long, but they are not artificial. I've NEVER had a problem with my nails and infections. My daughter was also a preemie and no one ever said a word to me about them being a no-no. I used to get compliments from the NICU nurses about them.
Sorry, totally off topic from the OP.
My nails are long and acrylic and I've never had any infections nor have my children FROM my nails, including my first who was a preemie.

As for the grandmother, I agree only with the PP who said she's an enabler and nothing more. She is no better than any other grandma out there crying the blues because she's raising a baby. If she hadn't coddled her own child so damn much and actually raised them to be an adult and make adult decisions she wouldn't be in the position she's in now. So I do not feel sorry for her one bit. The mother (Nadya) seems spoiled and irresponsible. An attention wh*** to the extreme!
