Octuplet Grandmother....WOW!

He may have made ONE donation several years ago that resulted in the conception of all the embryos. I read something where she said this final implantation was of frozen embryos from previous IVFs. I don't know if that is true or not, but the boyfriend may not have thought he was making more than one baby.

Yes, but he would have had to sign off on the second implantation, right?:confused3

There is a new video of the mother visiting the children and her nails are perfectly manicured and long. Anyone who has had children should know that long nails and babies don't mix. I know it seems silly but it's one of the first things I noticed in the video.

They are artificial nails & new too or recently filled. When did she have the time or money for that.

This grandmother is unbelievable. You mean to tell me she couldn't put her foot down 4 kids ago? I don't buy any of this. She is an ENABLER.

The boyfriend pleaded with her not to use his sperm again after the birth of the first six. It is obvious that this woman is totally self-centered. IMHO, she is mentally unbalanced. She is using her ability to have children to gain attention.

If I were the grandparents, I'd tell her "you made your bed, now lie in it". I'd kick them out of the house. I know that sounds terrible, but the state would have to step in and put the kids in other homes. Why should the grandparents be responsible for caring for their daughter's irresponsible choices. The grandparents could still get visitation rights to see the kids, but they would not have to be financially or physically responsible for them.

As for Nayda, a judge should tell her that she cannot have any more children.

I actually agree with you. I do think that the grandmother is overwhelmed, but she should have put her foot down a long time ago. I'm sure that it is hard to watch your kids make idiots out of themselves, but you shouldn't allow it to continue by giving them a place to live and paying for all of their bills while they do it.

Not necessarily. It all depends on how it was written up the first time.

I can see that. Obviously we are not dealing with people playing with a full deck, so he may not have understood what he was doing.

He could have hired a lawyer to stop her or at least tried to.

I agree that the mother is an enabler, but I also think she is just overwhelmed. She really needs to kick the whole bunch to the curb.

Agreed, but he is just a young kid himself. Neither one seems to have a clue. It is time for some tough love for old Nayda.

OK, but what can you say about the doctor? It was reported that the grandparents pleaded with the doctors to try and stop this.

I might be totally wrong, but doesn't it also look like she's had some plastic surgery, or at least some botox in her lips? I think she's using these children to get rich and it's really sad. I think if she makes a penny from this, she should have to pay back the public assistance I'm sure she's been receiving.

That is easy to say, but considering she is aware he daughter is unstable she would probably rather have the children under her roof and within her sight. I know I would.

I also read that there is a child with autism. I know from personal experience that it is important for that child in particular to have stability and familiarity. The most reliable person in that child's life is probably his or her grandmother.

I thought so, too! Really creepy Angelina wannabe...:scared1:

How the heck did she afford the fertility treatments? From what I understand, they are quite expensive.

Here's the thing. In our culture, there is a tremendous negative stigma to giving up a baby for adoption even when you can't take care of it and a tremendous amount of pressure put on grandparents to do the so-called right thing and support one's young, usually single daughter when she gets pregnant and decides to keep the child. How many times have I seen parents berated for not supporting their 15 year old's decision to keep the child-- which amounts in reality to the grandparents bringing up baby? How many times have I seen advice given to teen parents that their parents will of course 'see the light' and 'help' them out once they see 'that beautiful face of their grandbaby?' ALL the time. There is seldom, if ever, a suggestion made that these ill-equipped birth parents give the child up for adoption. Nope, that has become taboo in our society.

There is little societal praise or support for parents who do what is really the right thing and tell their baby-keeping kids that, "Ooops, guess you're on your own. Sure you don't want to consider adoption now?"

Oh, gimme a break. Some of you really expect the grandmother to kick her own grandkids out of her home? The only home these kids have ever known? And clearly, their grandmother is more of a mother to them than their real mother. So yes, she should just look in those kids eyes and say, sorry, I know your mother is a total whack job who clearly has mental issues, but you need to leave my home right now. And sorry, you'll probably all be split up and put into foster care because clearly your mother cannot care for you.

Yeah, I'm sure that is what the grandmother should do.:sad2: This poor woman.

maybe that's where the $100,000 dollars went...

I know that GM is probably enabling the situation by caring for the kids, but I couldn't just leave my kids with no where to go, so I can see that even though she feels trapped, she loves her grandkids. And although there are many people who work in the foster care system who are very caring and conscientious, that is not always the case. Who could gamble with the lives of children they loved?
