October Wait List Thread

Congrats!! Sounds like a wonderful trip! Looks like we're out of luck, as tomorrow will be 31 days, but that's fine. OKW, here we come!!

Ok, so I knew that this was a busy time for DVC, but I was a little suprised when I called MS today to try and book an extra studio room for Oct 21-26th at SSR. The CM was really nice and she started with SSR and said, well, we have 1 night available, but no studios for any other night (and no other size rooms either). Then she checks OKW... nothing... At that point I knew I was out of luck... nothing anywhere. She even checked cash ressies at SSR and I couldn't even get all the other nights on cash.

So, long story short, I went ahead and booked the 1 night that was available and then asked to waitlist for the rest of the nights individually... hoping that there might be some cancellations as the 31-day point approaches over the next 2 weeks.

As of right now, I'm waitlisted for a SSR studio for Oct 21, 22, 23 and 25th...
I had waitlists for my other 2 SSR rooms to try and get BWV or AKV and I cancelled those so if you were waiting on those, you may have moved up on the list.

For now... I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed...

I am still waiting on a one bedroom for BCV. I have been on the wait list for thursday october 25th since March 29th! I have a 1 bedroom at OKW booked, but I really don't want to switch resorts. I would have to switch back to BCV on the 26th. I have always had luck with the waitlists before. I just have to keep my fingers crossed!!!

I got a call at about 4:30 today saying that my w/l for Oct 7 - 10 has come through for BC!!!

We had been reserved at BW - our home - and right at the 7mo window I called to switch over and have been w/l since...

I'm extra excited bec. it's a surprise for my son who has wanted to stay there since he saw SAB last July!!!

Good luck to everyone else waiting!

Hopefully my cancellation of BW has given someone else on the boards great news tonight!

My Waitlist for October 7th just came through!!! it's for a dedicated 2-bedroom at OKW! I can't tell you how thrilled I am! I just called the other day to extend my waitlist, but I really didn't think it would come through. Yeah for the pixie dust!

Congratulations!! Did you find out when you called or by checking the website? I guess I'm all done, as we leave in 30 days and as of this morning it hadn't come through.

So we'll be at OKW the same time as you!! Not long now!

THAT'S WONDERFUL! Congratulations. There must have been alot of last minute cancellations or MS opened up availability on some rooms at BWV. Either way many of us who have been waiting a long time on the BWV wait list for early October have benefited.

Those waiting for mid or later October don't give up hope MS can still come through for you yet.

JakenJess--Did you ask MS to extend your time on the waitlist? I did a couple of days ago and it worked--and actually the man I spoke with said Oct. 7th was one of their most popular days--so I figured my res. would never work.

Maybe I'll see you at OKW--I am in my late 30s, blond hair and will have a very blond 4-year-old girl in tow (in addition to other people who are going with me). We're heading to MNSSHP on Monday night.

Jakenjess: to answer your question, I looked at dvcmember.com . I checked around 10:30 this morning and nothing, but when I looked again an hour or so later(I'm obsessed), it was there!

I called today and dropped our waitlist for AKL. We are going to stick with OKW and I am in the middle of calling day to day to switch our April trip from VWL to AKL so hopefully we can go that week instead.

Boston to Orlando - We will be at the Halloween party Monday night as well. I grew up in Boston and my mom is actually flying down to spend the weekend with us then I will do the second half of our trip just me and the kids. Maybe we will run into each other at the pool!

My waitlist for Oct 25 just came through today! I have been waitlisted for a one-bedroom at the Beach Club since the seven month mark. I am so excited because now I will not have to switch resorts! Have faith people!

I just changed my reservation and gave up two days at SSR in a studio for Oct 12 and 13th. I added those nights onto my cash ressie at the AKL for Oct 14-17th. Just thought somebody might be looking for those days and could call and get them. Good luck with your waitlists.

i booked a studio in july for 4 nights in 2nd week of october.

originally had to do 1st night at BCV and 4th night at SSR.

the 1st night came in for the BW pretty quickly, and the 4th night just came in a week or so ago.

not bad considering F&W fest.

no complaints here.

Hi, I JUST called MS and the CM said wait a minute I think it came through and IT DID!!! So I now have all 4 nights(10/18-22) at SSR in a studio! I only called the middle of August and got 1 nite, 10/21. I waitlisted for 10/ 18,19 and 20th. The 19 and 20th came through together (this is a weekend) and I have been waiting for the 18th. I thought if it was going to come through it would be this week! Joan
