October Wait List Thread

We're waitlisted for a one night add on at the BC for the 25, booked on Cash basis. But it's been over a month since we went the list. With F&W fest, I guess we won't get it. What a shame cause we're thinking of trying to get another night!

Add us to the list of waiting for October 25th. We were able to get the 24th, 26th and 27th at OKW (studio), but nothing yet for the 25th. Fingers crossed it'll come soon or I'll have to rethink our plans!!

We were waitlisted for 1-5 Oct at BCV (had ressie at OKW).

Nothing happened for a couple of months so I didn't hold out much hope -then they called to say the middle 2nights came up but we kept the OKW ressie on as well until the first or last night came through. Well they called a couple of days ago and the 1st was available so I took that and cancelled OKW. Then today I looked on the website and the last day is there too (I was expecting a call as they had called about the others)

So I'm absolutely thrilled to have our first stay at BCV during the F&W festival - can't wait. Looking forward to watching Illuminations with a chocolate creme brulee and a glass of champagne from France and then wandering back to our room!!

Congrats! That will be perfect for F&W! That's why we've waitlisted BWV, just thinking it would be nice to meander back to the room after hitting all the F&W booths!

We are waiting for a studio on the 25th too for OKW. Must be something about that day as I have noticed a few others waitlisted for that day.

Just cancelled a studio for Oct 26-29th at SSR--Hope this helps someone from the Dis! We rebooked for a 1 bed b/c of just recently adding on!

i've been waitlisted for over a month for Oct 25th at WL and I have just about given up hope that it will come through. I guess I will just have to pay cash. Oh well. I guess I'll have to use the points for our next trip

Not only that, but that particular Thursday. It's comical because I know quite a few who are waitlisted (at a varity of resorts) for that Thursday the 25th.

I am waitlisted at BCV for the 25th too. I have the 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and 26th... I currently have a 1 bedroom reserved at OKW for the 25th, but I really hate the idea of switching hotels in the middle of my trip... I am thinking about reserving a cash night at BC to avoid the hassle. If my waitlist comes through, great. If not... Oh well.

We're waitlisted for the 26th and 27th for a studio or 1BR at BCV. We currently have a 1BR at OKW for those dates. The other two nights we are staying at the YC. The split stay would be easier if it was BC/YC and not OKW/YC. We thought that was what our DVC guide had booked for us, but when we called we were booked for December and not October! I had nothing booked for the 1st two nights of my trip!

Glad our WL has already come through! I called today to check availability for the week of Oct. 20-27. We have friends going to WDW who are staying at ASM right now. Thought I might just be able to get them into a studio somewhere. Yeah right. No availability all week for BCV & AKV (no surprise there), WLV (kind of surprised), only Sat. night for BWV, a night here and there for OKW and a 2BR at SSR.

FOR THE WHOLE WEEK!

CM suggested the waitlist but I decided against it since I hadn't even really discussed the whole idea with my friends.

But I was amazed that SSR didn't even have availability.

We are new members so we didn't have much of a window. We had a 1 be at OKW for 10/30 to 11/4. We waitlisted for a studio which came through. We are currently waitlisted for a studio at BCV and BWV, because of F&W. We are not counting on that and are happy with OKW if nothing comes through, which we are really not expecting!

Back on the WL... well my friends are anyway! Talked to our friends and they decided they would love to try out DVC (had planned on booking at ASM) even if that meant changing resorts mid-stay. So I called MS this AM and got them into a studio at SSR for 10/20, 10/21, 10/24 & 10/26 so we had to WL for the other days of the stay. The CM was surprised that she could actually get 4 days at all that week. So now we are keeping our fingers crossed that something comes open for the other days!

I just checked the DVCmember website and saw that my waitlist for 2-bdr at SSR on Oct 18th came through. Good luck to everyone else!

Oct. 25th is so busy because it's my DH's 40th birthday!
But really, why is it so busy (I know it's not for him!!). You're all scaring me, because I'm trying to rent points to go from Oct. 22-26, but now I'm thinking I should wait and see if AP rates come out instead. DH really wants to stay in a DVC studio for his birthday week, and we don't have enough points left (just went in July ). Does anyone know why it's so busy? I know its the F&W Festival and Halloween, and I know I've left it until way too close to going - guess I just answered my own question!

My wife and I tried to get a Studio anywhere Oct 14 through 19. No Luck. We gave up and used points for POFQ. It was more points, but at least we got a room. That may be an option.

Waitlisted for 10/26-OKW-Studio.
Did get a studio in OKW for the 27th & 28th. Made the ressie this morning 8/9.
Decided last night to book a trip for October, SW had great fares.
No studios anywhere else, not even SSR. Waitlisted for BCV for all three nights, but not likely to open up.
