We went Oct 16th last year - had a fantatic time weather and crowd wise. Can't recommend
MNSSHP enough - best trip to MK in all our visits

The rides were all walk-on - even Peter Pan
We stayed at the Sheraton World three years ago while they were building the new tower. I would imagine the views from up the top end of the tower rooms would be fantastic.
The hotel is situated at the far end of IDrive (quiet), but right next door to Sea World. There is a walk through towards the rear of the hotel grounds which literally takes no more than 5 mins to walk to the entrance to Sea World.
Our room (sorry, can't remember number) was at the rear of the grounds - it's vast - and so we walked to the walkway, and if we were back in our room at 10pm each night we would check out the fireworks from Sea World
There are at least three pools - but the one with the lovely waterfall was always cool when we were there

Food was ok - we ate a buffet breakfast in the Blue Marlin one morning. Not as much choice as Ponderosa/Sizzler/Shoney's etc, but ok for us.
The IDrive trolley bus stops right outside the hotel if you don't want to drive up IDrive where loads of restaurants and entertainment are. Opposite the hotel are another couple of restaurants, including one of our faves - Bennigans. Disney and Universal parks were about 15 mins drive away and the main route down to the Gulf coast is just over the road. It's a great placed hotel. Rooms are fine - nothing too fancy. The grounds were stunning - lovely water gardens all lit at night

We wouldn't have a problem going back there.
As for St Pete's Beach - one of our faves

We've stayed next door to the Sirata a couple of times at the "round" Holiday Inn, but met a couple who were staying at the Sirata in a standard room and they were very pleased with the hotel. Durango's steak restaurant in the Sirata is not to be missed - happy hours are great. There is so much around that area - restaurants within 10 mins walking distance, a Publix supermarket where we picked up all our supplies, including all the inflatables for the beach (and they inflate them for you there too - very handy

).
Sorry - going on and on

. There is so much to do in and around St Pete's - dolphin cruises; Busch Gardens and it's sister water park (really great) 45 mins away; Sunshine Skyway bridge over to Sarasota . . . so much and so little time

.
Let me know if you need any further info on St Pete's area - we've been a few times now and it feels like home
