October People: When Are You Going to Start Packing????

Started to pack small things, can't pack clothes yet, still wearing them....

not even sure of what to pack as far as pants vs shorts ?? etc.?

I haven't started packing yet but I am gathering things in our guest bedroom as I think of them. The trip is getting close!

For past trips we tended to over-pack ..... we brought more clothes than we wore. I have found it's better to pack lightly as far as clothes are concerned but pack more underwear & socks than you think you'll need.

During our past trips we'd go back to the resort for a nap/break/shower or for a swim and then most times we could wear the clothes we had on before again. But, of course, put on fresh, new underwear & socks ..... no one wants to wear sweaty underwear & socks - EW! -

Was that too gross??

Our luggage is in the Living Room, but haven't put anything in it yet. In October it can be weird, we have been going for the last 5 years in October and on some early mornings and late nights you may need a sweatshirt or zip up sweat jacket over you t-shirt, but as soon as the sun comes up it is very warm. I would only bring one of those though.

I've been packing for a while now! I now have our largest suitcase completely packed. All of the babys things are packed, clothes and diapers and travel highchair and our pool stuff... stuff we don't need right now for at home.

All I have left is about half of my clothes, DH's clothes and my older DD's clothing.

I even have all of our toiletries packed! I bought a bunch of those travel bottles and filled them all up with our stuff, so that's taken care of as well!

I think the reason I'm on the ball is because I'm so excited!!!

Holy smokes I now feel like a total slacker!
I have the non clothing items in the huge suitcase and I just got the stroller bag but I can't pack clothing yet because I need it all!
I'm actually in the middle of making a list of what I need to get to bring with us for the trip from Babies R Us and Target...(my two favorite stores!)

I've started with the non-clothing stuff. I have car games (for me!!) packed and other stuff for the road trip. No clothes yet, have to keep wearing them! But I do have a list in my head made - does that count??

Only thing left to buy is film. Already have the toothpaste, shaving cream, disney dollars (for kids), disposable cameras (for kids), advil (for me), etc. etc. all organized. We are still wearing our shorts & t-shirts so can't start packing them yet.
Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!!!

I have started packng all the incidentals but most clothes will have to wait until a few days before. The trip is a surprise for my daughter's birthday and she hasn't a clue. I've been "packing" our things in a big cardboard box in the guest room (it goes with the other boxes ~camouflage, lol)

And I can't wait either!!

So far I have packed all new clothing for me.. I went Insane when my Disney Store cleared out alot of Tee Shirts most for 5 Dollars each.. I have packed our Halloween Costumes, Pool towels, and some little odds and ends.. We are still wearing our Summer clothing, but very soon they will all be washed and put in...

I have started getting non clothing items together.

This weekend I am getting out a packing list to MIL along with the luggage tags we got with our package. I don't want her to forget anything.

Bought two new suitcases for the trip!! Already did a "test pack" to make sure everything would fit. First aid kit is packed. Wish it were time to pack everything else!!

It is taking everything I have not to start packing now! I don't leave until 5 weeks from Sunday! I'm going to try and wait until I'm three weeks out to start packing. I have been working on my packing list, so that makes me feel like I'm close to packing. I'm going for 2 weeks so now I'm afraid I'm going to have to buy another large suitcase as I'm not sure I can fit everything in one large suitcase, 1 roller bag, and my carry on and still have room to bring extra stuff back I tend to overpack anyway, but after my last trip where we had a freak cold spell and I froze my you know what off, I know I'm gonna take way too much stuff this time.

This is our first big trip with our kids and I'm just so darn excited I can't wait to pack..... I already have some things packed and the suitcases are out but we still need alot of the clothes..... I'll do a 'test pack' this weekend to make sure I have everything I need.... then the weekend before we go I'll do the real thing..... 3 weeks Friday we're outta here!!

Our suitcases start their way to FL 3days before DS & I fly down
Suitcases are going in the car w/MIL & DH - leaving early Wed morn - will most likely get packed in car Tues night. DS & I leave for airport Fri afternoon for an early Sat flight.

I've gotten a pile going of the misc. stuff we need. The main clothing will have to wait a little longer as we are also wearing them now. I think if we didn't have to wear them now they would be already packed. Hopefully the days will fly by.

WHEW !!!

I was so worried that I was the only insane one. We're a month out and I've already started packing some toiletries, CDs and other stuff for the car, and a few clothes. My wife thinks I'm out of my mind. Say it ain't so !!


I can't wait to show the kids Disney for the first time.....
