We are going to be at Disney the first week in May this year with our 3 and 5 year old. I am thinking of taking an adult trip in Oct or Nov just for a long weekend. Which is the best. I am looking at them both for the crowd factor, and weather. If I go Nov it would probably be the first or second week. I thought I had read that value season for the hotels starts in Nov? This may effect my decision.

We're going the week school is out for Thanksgiving. We're getting our rooms for $77 a night at Pop Century. I found last time I went during Thanksgiving that the crowds weren't bad until Thanksgiving Day. The weather was wonderful. :D

I believe there is quite a bit of "group" activity during October(conventions, schools, etc.) I would go for November. The weather is generally very mild (if not still a bit too warm), and the groups thin down a bit. To avoid the biggest crowds you'd want to stay away from Thanksgiving week. After that, you could also enjoy the holiday decorations.

All of my WDW trips have been in October or November. I prefer October, around the beginning of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. The golf tournament takes place around that time too, but it has never been a problem for me. It's still quite warm in October with a little bit of rain. If you're into the Halloween thing, the MK has an event that takes place on some nights.

November is nice, but the weather can get a bit on the cool side. At least it does for someone from Phoenix. I agree with others that you probably should avoid Thanksgiving week.

We went to Disney in 2002 (11/16-11/23) and in 2003 (10/20 - 10/27). Crowd-wise I'd say that October is a bit more crowded because there are a lot of things going on in the parks (MNSSHP in MK, Food and Wine - EPCOT, etc). Some ride times (Tower of Terror, Rock N' Roll RollerCoaster, Test Track) reached 90 mins and more during some busy days. The weather last October was rather warm (mid to upper 80's), and was great for the water parks, but really tired the kids out fast (9,4 y/o boys, 6 y/o girl). And yes October is considered regular season. When we went in Nov '02, the parks were not crowded at all. Normal wait times were 10-25 minutes for the whole week. One thing we really enjoyed was that they starting to put up Christmas decorations throughout soonafter we arrived. Weather was a little cooler when we went but we still did a water park one day.

try to avoid Jersey week. The yr we went (2000) in early Nov, it was very crowded because Jersey week, election day & I think Veterans Day were all the same week. Long waits for all of the rides.

We were there in early October and it was still really hot and humid. We like going over Thanksgiving! They put all the Christmas decorations out too!! We are going back this November!

We've gone in Oct. our last two times, both the beginning and the end of the month. This past time was the last week of Sept. first week of Oct. and it was great. Also, as someone suggested MNNSHP, we went on our last two visits and this past year the first night was actually the first Friday in Oct.
