Hi there,

We're waiting for our LEA to release term dates for October half term 09 so we can get our hols booked, just wondered if anyone else around the country has had these dates announced yet so we can have a guesstimate for now.

If so, please can you share these dates? :thumbsup2

Our dates here in Kent have been published as provisional for 2009/10. Listed as 26-30th October 2009. It always seems to be the last full week of October.

Have a look on the DLP board as we have a number of LEA school holidays listed which may be able to help you here.

We have the 26th october to the 6th November 2009 .We are one of the lucky few that have two weeks at October ,Wakefield LEA.The 1st week tends to be the 'normal ' 1/2 term week.

When did Wakefield LEA start with 2 weeks in Oct? They didn't do that when I taught there 5 years ago!! 2 weeks at Oct would be great, I could have a shot at MNSSHP then - can't do it at the moment as teachers can't take time out like kids - boohoo!

Try ringing them and asking that was how I found the dates I wanted, they told me when they were officially meeting to arrange the dates and I called back to find out before they were put on the web site.

Hiya

Where have you found the dates for October 2009? I've been on Wakefield.gov website but they've only got up until Summer 2009 published and I know we only have 1 week off this year in October... I just wondered if its changing for the 2009/2010 school year which would be brilliant!

Schools own web site,However I think I may have lead you up the garden path with regards the two week thing. We did have two weeks 2007 which is when we were last in florida ,so I looked into it some more .They are not LEA dates ,just the family of schools that the children are now at .SORRY :flower3:

Well I have bitten the bullet and booked with Virgin!

I spoke to a couple of people at our council yesterday, who both assured me it would be the last week in October, even though nothing official has been published yet.

The holiday cost has gone up (only slightly, but still) in the last week, and I figure with it being a school holiday I highly doubt they will offer any other discounts/offers so we've gone for it!

We setting off on Saturday 17th, the week before half term, as it's cheaper, but we have to go over the half term period to accommodate for DF's parents who work in colleges.

Ok, so now we just have to:
a) hope that everyone else takes our lead and books soon (it's for our DFTW)
and
B) pray that the council people were right! :scared1:

I just got email back from Kirklees, they still don't know.
The term dates have not been published yet for 2009/10. I will let you have a copy as soon as they have been approved.
Regards
Hayley

we're also north yorks lea and I have gone for the last two weeks in oct 17th to the 31st. I am hoping we got the week.
