So with MSEP & JB done and no SW fireworks or any new evening entertainment announced I kind of feel jipped. I hope they announce something awesome.

There's likely to be the Star Wars Galactic Spectacular, beyond that is anyone's guess. I'm there October 15-23,so I'm in the same boat as you.

While it hasn't been officially announced yet, the Galactic Spectacular will be showing in October. They're still trying to just figure out the specific nights they hope to show it, as they don't seem to be willing to run it every night.

Honestly, until things are announced I won't be counting on it. Heck, I was counting on MSEP since it was on the schedule but not anymore.

I am suppose to be traveling the last week in Oct as well. At this stage I am seriously thinking of just pulling the plug and taking a vacation elsewhere. It really has been one disappointment after another this year with WDW.

First the whole ROL debacle then moving right into what appears to be very limited AK hours which really is a bummer. Then throw in a refurb on BTMM and we are really having fun. But seriously the straw that broke the camels back is the cancelling of the MSEP. I have Tony's dinner tickets for that and Disney just turns around and cancels out of no where and still has not reached out to tell me whats up. I certainly am not asking for a pity party here but jeez just cancelling stuff out of the blue...come on.

Okay so these are a few things that are making me rethink my travel plans. The kicker also is just the sheer lack of communication from Disney. Like others have said, these Disney trips take some planning and not getting the proper info at the appropriate time is just a serious pain. Just makes everything that much more difficult.

So as of right now I am really on the fence. Do I make my final payment today or hit the cancel reservation link?????

I guess for me is what are your options where you would go and would you be happy there too?

I go every September or early October for about 10 days ... for the last decade. Right now I have no trip on the books. When ROL crashed it just seemed one chaos after another and now MSEP. Not that I even watch it anymore, but if it's not there then the ride lines will be longer and SWW/Illuminations will all be more crowded. It does impact more than just Main Street. We usually do 2 MNSSHP, and I had already decided just one or none since they are more crowded. And if MSEP is gone will folks book party tickets and reduce their other tickets. Still wondering if I go for a half length trip or wait. Only thing really pulling me is getting my AP worth. It's never good if you aren't excited to go.

Options are really wide open and I will be happy wherever I end up. It is just that Disney seems to be pulling some strange moves that have kinda killed my WDW buzz at the moment.

I hear you and feel the pain for many.

I'm going to the beach the last week of August and DS & I are sneaking over for 3 days in the middle. Hoping it sparks the excitement again.

I hope you can find some Disney excitement again soon. What you're describing is very similar to how I've felt in recent months. I just feel taken for granted by Disney. I feel like they have not been considerate of guests planning trips this fall. For me, planning a trip adds fun and excitement all year, and this time it has just felt different. It feels like they just don't care if they mess with people's plans last minute. I feel like they just want me to send in the money and take whatever they happen to send our way.

You are absolutely right that the MSEP nonsense affects more than just those who watch. We actually do still like to watch, and I was about to ditch our DLR trip and swap to WDW, but with this announcement, I guess we're heading back to DLR? But in early November we're not likely to have a night parade there either. I still can't believe they did that when Fantasmic is dark. And yes, I'm holding a bit of a grudge. The shows and parades are my favorite part of Disney.

This is our very first Disney trip. I know we are going to have a good time but DD is upset that BTMM is going to be closed. She has read up on the rides and that was one she was looking forward to the most. I haven't even told her about MSEP being gone. Even I'm feeling disappointed and we haven't even been before. I think it's because I feel like I waited too long and now will have never gotten to experience those things.

There is still plenty to do and you can't miss what you've never had. I feel kind of glad that my son grew up before the information age so there were no Youtube videos of things to watch. No way he could be disappointed because he didn't have any idea what to expect. Through the years, even after having been every other year for over 30 years, he still got excited for his trips because while something he enjoyed in the past might be closed for refurb or even permanently, there is always something we haven't experienced yet. As far as the parade, I know a lot of people are upset about it ending but there is still the FWs at MK, Illuminations at Epcot, Fantasmic and Star Wars FW at HS and even without the ROL in AK they have been extending hours, they just extended them until 9 in Sept. so the street parties will still happen and the tree of life will still do it's thing.

It does feel like a kick in the teeth when Disney does this stuff.

We are going this month and they announced Celebrate The Magic was going to be down the whole month of August, and I think they announced this at the end of July. Combined with Wishes, that happens to be probably my favorite nighttime entertainment event at Disney. This is on top of Dinosaur being down, BTMRR, Muppets, IASW. Rivers of Light not being up yet.

So we decided we would still go, but we have cancelled our onsite reservation and moved offsite. So Disney gets less of our money, a lot less, as they are now only getting the tickets and some QS in the parks. And we spend more time at our offsite resort. Fine. Bringing the cost of the vacation down increased its value to me, and now I'm fine with going.

Anyway, long story long, it's all about what it's worth to each individual. But I don't think anyone can deny it's kind of crummy of them to pull these things so late in the planning game.
