October discounts?

I went ahead and booked our WDW trip the first week of October through the Disney website. The last time we went we went through AAA. Now there is no longer a discount with AAA, right? I am assuming there will be some sort of discount to come out for the fall. I know I got a PIN code last year, but unfortunately we were not able to go(too many medical bills).
Is this how most people do Disney? Book the week you want and then cross fingers for a discount?

we booked our trip through AAA it cost us the same as if i went through disney. crossing my finger for Free Dining and since i booked through AAA i dont have to worry about calling and being on hold to add any promotions AAA will do that for me

I booked it and am waiting for the Free dining too! First week of October. I know many people on here complain that it makes Disney think they are full so they may not offer a discount. I can't not book it, usually free dining release happens after my window to book my meals, I don't want to miss that!!

You don't have to have a resort reservation to book dining.

I'm also booked for the first week of Oct, checking in on the 4th, but not holding my breath for free dining. Disney hasn't offered FD for the first 3 full weeks of Oct for several years. If they offer it on the 2nd, I'll re-book and come in a few days early to snag FD.

This is true but without an onsite reservation you will not be able to use the 180+10 benefit.

That! It is a great perk to not have to get online every day and book your ressies one day at at time.
