Hi. We are thinking of going to Disneyland during my kids fall break. We went last year and it was super busy but still had lots of fun. I’m looking at October 9-12. I was thinking mid week might be a little less busy. However as I’m looking at hotels a lot are booked that 9th and 10th. Is that a bad sign? We went the first week of October last year but can only go the second week this year. We were thinking of possibly doing the party on the 9th since the 12th shows sold out. We’ve never gone to a party and are debating if it’s worth the cost. Sounds fun to do something different though. We have 3 kids who are 16, 13, and 10. So should I stick with the Tues-Thurs in the park or change it to include the weekend? Just seems odd that those dates are booked when others are not. Hotel prices are also higher this year then I found last year at this time.

I think there are a LOT of fall breaks that week. It’s hard to say whether the weekend would be better, though...

With Fall Breaks for most of Arizona, Halloween time and the Fall discounts the week of Columbus Day (8th-12th) it will be busier than average and explains the hotel situation. We go to a Disney park or property almost every year at this time due to Fall Break and my mother in laws birthday (turns 80 on the 8th) and have a fantastic time despite the crowds. We arrive on Sunday and depart on Thursday and try to maximize "mid-week" crowds, but don't really think it makes much difference by late afternoon or evening. When we utilize rope drop and max pass we have a great time regardless of the crowds. We are skipping the party as we've done it several times in the past on both coasts. We would consider the party again next year it it affords a less crazy evening when Galaxy's Edge opens...
Have fun and see you there...:)

We are going Labor Day weekend too. Saturday and Sunday are not so bad as most APs are blocked!

Thank you. We went the first week of October last year and it was crazy busy but still fun. We will just go with the mindset of being just as bad or worse. MikeRx, you mentioned fall discounts the week of Columbus Day? Is there something I need to look into for that? Or is that just the ticket prices?

That’s funny, we were there the first week of October last year and it really didn’t seem that crowded to us! We go as early in fall break as we can, beat the masses there, so 9/29-10/3 this year for us.
