**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

I've asked before but just checking again - anyone plan on doing Tulum? I'm booked for it with my older son (who is almost 10).

Dad and the 5 yr old are staying close to the boat in Coz. I think I read there is some stuff close to the pier - like a shopping mall type area - anyone been there? They might like to get off the boat and wander around close by. I don't care if it is touristy or expensive - I'm mostly looking for close and safe (5 yr old has some medical issues and I'd just as soon they stay close to the boat). Because of food allergies they'd eat on the boat too - some place they can easily get back to for lunch, etc. Any website for that shopping mall?

Yes there is lots and lots of shopping at Coz. next to the pier.

Do a search for Punta Langosta Mall, Cozumel

Thanks Nanatink! Yes...that sounds certainly unadventurous enough - LOL!

I don't feel too bad I guess - so many things to do on the ship even in port I think they'll have a nice day together.

Texasgirl! You opened up a can of worms by posting this site... http://www.boatswainsbeach.ky/

Now we are reconsidering doing the pirate encounter and switching to Boatsweins... I saw a lot of posts over on Cruise Critic about the place but ALL of them were from last year, talking about when it will open up but ZERO reports of what it is like now that it is open....

Info I did learn over there... it's about a $20 cab ride... and about 15-30 mintues away from the port, depending on traffic.

Off to do more poking around

Laura,

I think I did! Yes, I have been over to CC boards too recently. You can't beat it for excursion advice. That's how I figured out which Cozumel excursion (Nachi Cocum) we're doing and helped seal which Cayman beach if we have time (Royal Palms). I even found who we're using for our town car from there (Sunrise...140 roundtrip for the 4 of us and great reviews)

It can't compare to the DIS boards but is handy for other things.

I go in spurts. I'll go long periods, months and months and not even visit or lurk on boards but the closer to the sail date the more obsessed I get!!! Esp during the time I am finalzing all the arrangements. With us being about 2 weeks out I think I am now officially obsessed.

The up side is that between doing Western twice just last year and my maniac board searching is that I am becoming quite the "expert" :goodvibes LOL

Our Oct 6 cruise is going to be so fun! And what a great group we have!

I think the DIS is more freindly... but I too use Cruise Critic for ports and such.. A broader cruise base there... not just Disney freaks like here rofl

I showed my DH the boatswainsbeach site and he perked up and seemed to think it might work better for our family too. The boy likes to run... lol

I wonder how soon I would have to cancle the pirate encounter.... and I wonder if we can just walk up to boatswainsbeach or do we need to book that ahead of time....

Boatswain Beach's picture looks alot like the turtle farm we went to last year on the island tour. The entrance, the whole layout. They had just opened several of the buildings and I could tell they were really adding alot more. This was last Oct. 7th cruise. Could this be the same? I may even go there and take the rest of my family. We were just going to stay on the boat, but if it is finished we might go again.

Wow, that park in the Grand Cayman looks great! I just logged onto our Disney site this morning and signed up for excursions and I just cancelled what we had planned in Grand Cayman for this park. We are definitely in on the park! Maybe those interested could meet up at a specific time outside the ship somewhere and try to catch rides together.

Laura- I was able to book the nursery for Kara on the 2nd sea day from 1-3pm. I know the margarita tasting is at 2:00- is it only an hour or is it longer? Count us in. Do they charge a certain fee for the event to our account or do we pay as we drink?

????????? I do not know how you know what activities are going on on the ship for sea days etc? How do you find this info out? Someone earlier stated they were looking ahead at the menus as well. Where are they? Would like to know more so we could reserve some more nursery time, etc!??????????????

Here is a link to a lot of navagators... Please note the Feb 24 Navagator is not what our cruise will be... meaning they had Pirate night on Grand Cayman night, because they stayed in Cozumel until 1030pm (which can happen, but is rare)

And here is a link to a more current navagator..

While some things change... a lot dont.

EDITED TO ADD>.. ROFL BOO! What linkdid you put in??? SHAME ON YOU! (giggle)

All the reports I found on CC were a year old... From what I can tell now the whole park is open. I googled it but only found news clips and such, no real reviews. Iwill keep you posted if I come across anything.

We'd be interested in meeting up and sharing rides, this is where we were planning on going. We had went to the turtle farm on our last Western and loved it, since it looks like they've expanded I think we'll really enjoy it.

Laura- here is our info for the master list:
Midwest Cruisers- Rm 6068- Laura, Rob, DS-Ryan (4), DD- Kara (2)

Is there any other info you need from us? Please count us in on the cabin tour!!!! We will also be at breakfast Sunday morning!

I just finished reading this entire thread. My husband and I would love to join you for the margarita tasting but if what is being said is true, we may not be able to find anyone to watch our kids if the Nursery and kids clubs are filled.

I am going to talk to our travel agent tomorrow morning to see if she has our reservation number and any other number we may need to try to book our kids for the nursery/club. Wish us luck that anything is open at this late date!! From the talk on this board we may also be out of luck for Palo. Oh well there are always future Disney cruises, right?!

???????????? IS THERE A CLOTHES LINE IN THE ROOMS FOR DRYING SWIMSUITS OR SHOULD WE BRING SOME STRING/ROPE AND SOME CLOTHES PINS?

There is a clothesline in the shower, on another board someone suggested the suction cup hooks to put in the shower, sometimes we run out of space on the clothesline.

Thanks Laura, I had been trying to find out how far from port it was. We're planning on going there.

Sounds like lots on our thread are planning to check out Boatwains. I may change my mind and do it too. I do think it looks fun I was just worried a out money. It may end up a "mini cruise meet!" Of course the kids will have more fun if they have dis friends to play with.

From my understanding there are no reservations required. You just pay your wet fee and have full access to the whole facilities. No limit on how much you Swim with the Turtles etc. One piece of missing info I had was how long it took to get there and cost of cab but that has been answered now!

Oh I am so excited, I can hardly contain myself! I just ordered the kids gift baskets (actually, it's a teasure chest, so cute) through The Perfect Gift. I didn't talk to Shirley this year (she is awesome) but I dealt with Valerie and she seems really great too. She was so helpful with suggestions and customizing the chest. I like ordering from them too because they put sand toys in the baskets (among other things like snacks and pirate stuff) and then we don't have to lug ours. I also ordered my DH a basket because his b-day is 10/8 and he always gets kinda gipped because we are always away. I ordered him his favorite wine with some other snack stuff like chips and salsa, summer sausage, nuts, etc. I think he will really like it.

I am also excited because I finally succumbed to the pressure I feel from this board, lol. I did what I said I wouldn't and made door signs. I think they came out pretty cute too. I just have to go and buy the magnet paper and print them. I did hear that Walmart carries it? Anywhere else?

I feel like I am actually starting to make progress on my to do list. DH's tux ordered, baskets ordered, Safesea lotion received, signs made.....Man it feels good! If only I could have someone pack for me...

Relly... I sure hope that's - good pressure - you feel from this board.

And YAY for door signs!

I just printed out letters to the girls teachers letting them know about the cruise. They are home for lunch today, So I will give it to them to take back with them!

Rdy2bpampered- yes we are not too far from each other! I went to college in Oxford OH so I was even closer then. My brother went to Columbus OH for his undergrad and then to Kettering. We went to the Air & Space Museum this year with the kids. We are not flying-we decided to drive down and visit the space center at Cape Canaveral and on our way back, break it up with a visit to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville NC. It will be quite the roadtrip with the kids being so young- 4yrs and 2yrs but we will manage with Disney movies all the way down!

Wifeofgrumpy- we are interested in sharing a ride to the Boatswains Beach. How many are in your party? The park looks wonderful- we decided to spend money on our excursions as you can see instead of on our flight down. Hopefully we wont regret it! Kids can be so unpredictible in long rides.
