**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

Well, I don't know how many of us will be interested in seeing movies while we're on board, but, according to Disney Reservations, here's what will be playing:

Wild Hogs
Meet the Robinsons
Bridge to Terabithia
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Invisible
Ratatouille
Underdog

We'll definitely be doing POTC III. Arrrrrhhh. pirate:

I want to see Ratatouille and Underdog (well the kids do).

I think Spiderman III is on the TV - would like to see that!

We have been avid fans of Pirates' movies and have put off seeing it when the III one came out just because we wanted to see it on the cruise..figured it would be more special. Boy, we were chomping at the bit to see it..but we held off. ;)

Can't wait to see it while we are inthe middle of the ocean! Make it so much more fun.

Lildeb-would there be room for 9? We have 6 adults and 3 kids (in car seats). Let me know if it is feasible. We have something booked but how fun to meet DISers before we go if it would work out---that is, if you can handle three kids added to the car ride! :rotfl:

Sorry my reply has taken so long. First issue would be that the bus has no seatbelts so therefore no carseats can be used. Second Issue would be luggage. The bus can hold 30 pieces and with 23 of us - I would be a little nervous about using running out of luggage space. What do you think. The kids themselves are not an issue - In our group we have a 9 year old, a 6.5 year old, two 4 year olds and a one year old.

It is disney also and is releasing on the 28th

I have not seen POTC3... not sure I will have time on board...

BUT the kids (and me) really want to see underdog!

As for the door signs.. It's something I enjoy making, but by all means NOT a nesscary thing to do. And 80% of mine are just basic clip art I cut and pasted, printed and cut out. Didn't even bother to tweek them or anything.

OK well all my lovely polls were merged into this thread and the polls themselves went POOF...

BUT the last time I looked it seemed like the SECOND sea day worked best for most the the Margarita drinkers, So I will see about booking one for us at 2 on the second sea day.

Also the PJ breakfast... Again it seemed like lots were interested Should we go ahead and make it for 9 am, since that is Key West day?? (At Luminaires)

And LASTLY the Cabin Tour... I didn't have time for a poll for that (good thing, it would have just been merged lol) But I am still thinking the first sea day around 1230ish is the way to go. THOUGHTS??

12:30'ish is good. We'll be out of our Spa session and ready to go.

Andy

That all sounds fine with me.

Is breakfast just show up? I mean we don't need reservations right?

I'd like to do the stateroom tour.

We received an email today from the Dolphin Encounter in Cozumel. We had a 3:30 time for the little ones, which we really didn't like, but was the only one left. The email stated that for better Customer Service reasons, our time has been switched to 1pm! We are extremely happy. With the other's in the group scheduled for the 2pm Royal Swim, this works out perfectly.

Yes, it is official we received our docs today!
Let the count down begin. :hourglass We will be leaving at 3:00 Friday, headed south on I-75, in a loaded down Tahoe, full of anxious cruisers. If luck is with us and Atlanta traffic is smooth,(keep your fingers crossed) we should make it to the GA/Fla. state line before 11:00 to get a sleepless nights rest:cloud9: .( I know all of you will get a good nights rest that night ) LOL.:lmao: We then plan on arriving at Port Can. around 10:30 and to meet up with the rest of our family.:grouphug: At least that is the plan for now,(we all know how those well thought out plans turn out, don't we):sad2:

I know we are late arriving to the boards but count us in on the Cabin Tours (ours is also open for a cat 6 if needed) and Margaritas!

We have never been on a Disney Cruise before. Can anyone tell us if we should bring our own beach towels or can we use the ships (both on and off the ship for beach days)? Hate to pack beach towels- what a waste of space! But we will do what we need to do:)

I believe they will furnish towels for you. I know they did last year. We didn't bring any along with us. We used the extra room in our suitcases for more clothes.:laundy:

Yes Breakfast is just come at 9.. we will mull about the atrium for a bit, then all head in

YAY About the time change for the dolphin encounter. I had origainlly booked it directed and also had the 330 time slot. I opted to just pay more via Disney to get a better time... so YAY You got the time with out more money!!

Woot for Docs... No docs here YET!!

And WOOT WOOT WOOT Welcome Midwest Cruisers!! Yes Disney provides towels so no worries :-) If you check out the first two posts in this thread there is a bunch of info about the cruise and the cruisers. Can I get your families info for the master list?? Also please email me the names of those interested in the Margarita party. I want to contact the Concierge staff by Monday... UsedtobeSmith@aol.com

and YAY For all the new posts. Something tells me we are all getting very giddy! lol

Hi all, we will be joining you as well as last minute cruisers. We were going to take a land tour down to the Keys with many stops along the way to sight see and then saw a cruising show on Travel Channel and 2 days ago changed our plans!

We are Rob and Laura with our children Ryan - 4yrs old, Kara- 2 yrs old
We are in cabin 6068- cat 6 - deluxe stateroom with verandah.
Not sure which seating- trying to get it changed to early seating since are kids are so young- but may not have any luck this late in the game!

Our itinerary:

Key West- on our own- dont know if we can fit it all in!
Pirate Soul- Front St- Adults $13.95, 3-10 $7.95
Aquarium- Next door- Adults $11, 4-12 $5
Hemingway House- Whitehead St- Adults $11, 5 & under Free
Lighthouse- next door- Adults $10, unsure about kids
Kino's Sandals- shopping- Fitzpatrick St.
Key lime pie on a stick
Don't think you can fit it all in but you can play it by ear and try! I think you could at least do Pirate & Aquarium and Lighthouse...and keylime pie on a stick of course. We went to the Aquarium and went on the guided tour (no extra charge... you just have to time it right. Having the guide made a huge difference.

Grand Cayman- Own/ OR Disney? Own
Sea Grape Beach on our own Sea Grape is great!
or
Turtle Farm w/ Disney- anyone hear if this is any good?
If you do it, don't go through Disney. Go on your own. With Disney it is a walking tour only. If you go on your own it is your own timetable and you can buy the "wet package" and swim with the turtles. Here is the link to the site. It just opened in July I think

http://www.boatswainsbeach.ky/

.
or
Pirate boat- Valhalla- is this through Disney? Any good? Supposed to be cute, esp for boys. I heard it can kind of freak out meek children...they check the kids hair for bugs, have them scrub the decks, etc. That would freak out my DD. LOL.
Cozumel- on our own
Relax and play with kids on one of the beaches and shop
Recommend Paradise Beach, Mr Sanchos or Nachi Cocum.

.
Castaway Cay
Possibly the glass bottom boat- anyone hear if this is good?

Welcome aboard! What fun! Seeing a cruise show and changing your plans to do the DCL. Very free spirited!

Laura- here is our info for the master list:
Midwest Cruisers- Rm 6068- Laura, Rob, DS-Ryan (4), DD- Kara (2)

Is there any other info you need from us? Please count us in on the cabin tour!!!! We will also be at breakfast Sunday morning!

I just finished reading this entire thread. My husband and I would love to join you for the margarita tasting but if what is being said is true, we may not be able to find anyone to watch our kids if the Nursery and kids clubs are filled.

I am going to talk to our travel agent tomorrow morning to see if she has our reservation number and any other number we may need to try to book our kids for the nursery/club. Wish us luck that anything is open at this late date!! From the talk on this board we may also be out of luck for Palo. Oh well there are always future Disney cruises, right?!

???????????? IS THERE A CLOTHES LINE IN THE ROOMS FOR DRYING SWIMSUITS OR SHOULD WE BRING SOME STRING/ROPE AND SOME CLOTHES PINS?

They always hold back Palo reservations to book onboard. Also they do try and work it out with Flounders, so don't give up hope.

I would jump on the waiting list for Flounders at 2 pm sea day if your interested in the Margarita party, and any other time you would like, it can't hurt. Plus you could do a random waitlist... Like Call me when you have room, then just go off and do something, there will always be something to do :-)

The older kids club doesn't over book. If Ryan loves it, you may never see him, but at 4... it could do either way. We told out kids there will be some times when they HAVE to the clubs, and other times they will WANT to go to the clubs, and I hope they co-inside, but it they dont you will live. lol

I am pretty sure there is a line across the tubs for clothes. I thought hanging them out on the veranda was a good idea, but it was so humid then didn't even dry all the way over night!!!

And lastly email me your names for the Margarita Tasting, better to have you booked, and cancle then not booked and trying to add, if that makes sense

Ok it's late, I am off to sleepy land.

I hope the Doc's arrive tomorrow!

We want to experience a nice beach and some shopping while in Cozumel and would like to do this on our own. We have never been to Cozumel so are there any shopping areas close to a beach? If so, what beach would be our best bet? I saw on either a DIS posting or Cruise Critics posting that cab fare was apprx $13 each way to Paradise Beach- is there shopping within walking distance to Paradise Beach?

Hey 'MIDWEST CRUISERS' I see you are from Toledo OH! We are from Dayton OH--not too far apart! Are you flying to Atlanta then on to Orlando like us? Seems goofy to have a layover when non-stop flights are available..I mean sooo many people fly to Florida from all around and I would say ours is one of the straightest routes. Our first flight is on a puddle jumper...50 seats..2 on one side and 1 on the other...this is my first time flying and I gotta do it in a little puddle jumper!! :headache:
