October 5, 2008 Wonder Cruise!

Hey Guys!! I see we have a new person!! :cool1: Welcome! Sorry I haven't stopped by to post, our lives have been SO CRAZY!! (My mom had an accident which cut off half her hand, that they are trying to save. My brother had severe diverticulitis and had to have a major section of his intestines removed.) Thank goodness for the cruise... it's something fun to look forward to! On Saturday, I took a break from the tornado that has been our life lately, and watched the cruise planning dvd with a mango margarita. :cloud9: I knew only you guys could appreciate something like that!! Have a great week, I'll stop by to post more frequently, scouts honor!

Heather - I hope things start looking up for you! I know what it's like with hands and Mom's - mine had a work accident and almost lost all function in her hand. Things will work out for her! I also hope your brother is doing better too! That's not a nice inflamation to deal with! :scared:

I'm getting excited for this cruise too! Our wedding registry is up and running (but no one is buying yet!) and almost everything is done for the wedding. My cousin who's in the wedding is pregnant and will have a 4 month old by October! WHO HOO! Other than that, nothing exciting on my side of the town!

Rochelle - Did you get your passport yet?!

Ursula - Any news from your neck of the woods?

Heather - I hope your mom and brother are doing MUCH better!

...also we need a new name for this thread! There are families going now! Anyone have any suggestions? :teeth:

Merry Christmas friends!! :santa: Hope everyone is having a great day with friends and family. Everything here is starting to calm down here, thank goodness! Looking forward to 2008!! :cool1:

:santa: MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas.
Heather: I hope your mother and brother are better.

:rolleyes1 We do not have our passports yet. I have had a few friends that have had to get passports recently and they received them within a few weeks without paying the extra money so we have not applied yet.
We are also looking at our adoption situation. We were trying to hold off and get all four passports at one time.

I can not really think of a new name for our thread right now but I will see what comes to mind.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Rochelle

We're good. Had a great Christmas. Took the red Mickey suitcases that were given out on the member cruise and left the stuffed Mickey's in them. Put a water tight keyholder (the lanyard kind) in them and put them under the tree. THe girls took several minutes to figure out just where their room keys would get so wet but in the end they guessed it was a cruise.

We are staying at AKV in April and SSR in June so two Mickey trips before the cruise. October can't get here soon enough.

Our next decision is whether or not we're going to come down to stay before the cruise or after - or both.

Hey Everybody! We're cruising with ya!:yay:
Hi and Welcome! Tell us a little about yourself and those you're traveling with! Some of our info is on post #1.

I wish I got suprised with a cruise for Christmas!
We'll be staying down there after the cruise - three nights at the Hard Rock then two nights at either the VWL or BWV... :thumbsup2

Off topic!

We bought our wedding bands today! :cheer2: Can ya tell I'm a little excited? :teeth:

My fiance and I have also started going to the gym together - it's nice to have that time together! It's great we are working on this together - hopefully in a few months you'll hear me posting about buying new clothes! (That'd be awesome!)

Anyone started thinking about shore excursions yet??? Or the "Drink of the Day" while sitting in a lounge chair by the pool? Or a hammock on Castaway Cay?? Or just sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise?

Hey all! Happy to add you to our group ears4all!

Exciting news about the bands Channon! I started working out this week too. It's funny, I have been so sore that the trips up and down the stairs at our house are becoming less infrequent. I try to pile everything up at the bottom of the stairs and make one big trip because my legs are so SORE!! :rotfl:

I've gained a few lbs during the whole drama with my mom so, here's hoping to 20 lbs less by Oct!! :yay:

Have a good week everyone!

:wave2: Welcome ears4all.

:dance3: Chanon, great news about the wedding bands.

Think about how skinny and cute all of us will be by October. I am starting my third week of training to walk a 1/2 marathon at the end of April with several of my co-worker and corporate colleagues. :jumping1: :jumping1:
I am having a great time training so far. I just hope I can walk 13.1 miles in 4 hours. I have lost a couple of pounds already and I have not changed my eating habits at all.

By the way, :yay: DS turned 8 yo last Saturday. We had a cool birthday party. I was a Mad Scientist party. We had cool experiments and slime birthday cake. :scared1: DH, the green haired mad scientist had to sneak in some education while he was doing the experiments. I wonder what we have to do to top this next year.

Have a great week all.
Rochelle

That's an awesome idea for the birthday party! One I haven't heard of! What kind of things did you make?
How's the adoption process going?

I think we've decided to do the Martini tasting and Palo's again. I just wish I knew what our dining rotation was. Last year we lucked out that our Palo reservation was on our repeat Triton night. So we still were able to enjoy all 3 restaurants and Palo.

Also I think we're going to spend the Thursday night we get back at AKV conceirge.

I don't know if we should do Palo. I think I'm leaning more toward brunch - I don't think that he'd enjoy it....he's not the foody type...

Are you planning on a safari since you're staying concierge?? I've had a fiew friends do that and they LOVE it!

I think we'll wait a few more years till we do the safari. Palo's was really nice. DH isn't into any type of food inparticular and definitely isn't into dressing up. But he liked the hype of Palo and watching people come in all dressed up and how quiet the atmosphere was. He enjoyed our server recommending things and even tried a new beer with his meal. She recommended it and he just went with what she said. Turned out well. He wants to go back this time again for dinner.

I'll be sure to mention that to myBob! It might convince him to do dinner there then!

Hi everyone!
We just booked our:banana: first cruise for October 5th too. I booked a Cat 8 on Deck 6 since I don't think I want a veranda with DS3. It will our First Disney cruise. it will be me (DW), DH, DD7 and DS3, they will be 8 and 4 by time the cruise gets here. I have cruised before without kids on RCL like 9 years ago.

I see a couple of you will be honeymooning on this cruise, congrats to you. Anyone have kids too? We are very excited about the cruise. We go to Disney at least every year and usually stay at Poly or WL which are our favorite resorts. This year we will be trying the cruise because DH and I are parked out. We plan to stay at one of the hotels near the Port the night before the cruise and might stay at a Disney resort the day after or maybe go to Sea world.

I have main seating for dinner and we plan to book Palo for dinner. I sure hope DS likes the kids club and will at least go there for and hour a day to give us a tiny break. He will be starting preschool this fall so that will help. He is rather attached to us of course. My DD was so different at his age much more open to new places and things. Not sure what shore excursions we are booking. We might do the Dolphin encounter in Nassau or just take a cab to Wyndham and buy the day passes for the beach and pool. Have fun planning everyone.
