October 5, 2008 Wonder Cruise!

I saw the thread Channon!! Very cute... I am all about the little "extra magic" things!
You girls are going to think I am CRAZY!! I just bought a bunch of stuff for DD for the cruise! Hehehe.. At gymboree, they had their "bon voyage" collection 60% off. Really, what was I supposed to do?? The whole collection mixes and matches so it's completely practical. :rotfl2: The clothes have anchors and hearts, one of the shirts says "SS Cutie pie" Come on, who can pass that up?? :rotfl: Have a good week everyone!!
60% off is awesome!!! We have a Osh Gosh outlet by us, so we frequently see discounts here - but not at Gymboree! You'll have to post some pics of the outfits! The "SS Cutie Pie" sounds adorable!!! This would be perfect for the "entrance" photo that DCL offers!

Hello Ladies,
I am enjoying my last Friday off for a while and what could be more enjoyable than the DISboards. :surfweb:

Sandy - I am so glad that you now have your dream job but I am sad to hear it may prevent you from cruising. I hope everything works out.

Chanon - I did see the fish extender thread. They are very cute and I am thinking about trying it. However, on such a short cruise, I don't know that it would be that useful. It would make the door look nice.

Heather - Great shopping. I would love to do that too. My 7 yo DS grows so fast, I have no idea what size he will be wearing by cruise time. He is taller than the 8 year olds in his class. Of course, I don't know what size DD will be or if she will even be a part of our family by cruise time.

Are any of you going to WDW before the cruise? We have not decided yet if we will stay at WDW the night before the cruise or if we will just go to the port. I guess that depends on the MNSSHP schedule.

Back to the chores. I hear the laundry calling my name. :laundy:

Just giving this thread a little bump.

 :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2: party:

Today was Colleague Appreciation at my work.
We took off 4 hours in the middle of the day and the company sent us bowling.
They feed us too.

:jumping1:

How cool is that! Today is Employee Appreciation Day where I work - we get to wear jeans and get free pizza for lunch! Must be the week to thank workers! :teeth:

I hope everyone is doing well!!!

We have been thinking that our next big thing to do is get our passports. I have been reading some of the threads about passports. Do you all have your passports?

One of my co-workers just got her passport and she said it did not take long at all to get it back. We are still thinking we will start early just to be on the safe side.

Happy Planning.

I canceleld our trip earlier this afternoon. While I'm disappointed, I know we'll still be able to go to WDW, just not cruise. We're going to aim for a 7 night in '09 for our 5 year.

So Chanon, looks like you'll have a "real" stranger next door now. :)

Happy cruising and planning you guys!!!! Maybe we'll meet again :):goodvibes

I got mine before my last DCL trip in 2006. It was so weird to see it come in a plain envelope in the mail! Being so close to the Canadian border (and for work reasons) it seemed best to get it when I did.
It seems that they are back on their normal schedule of 6 - 8 weeks instead of 4 - 6 months. :teeth:

Having your dream job is definately more powerful than going on a Disney cruise. So long as your happy, we're happy for you! Keep in touch with us!!!

:sad2: Sad you will not be joining us on this cruise. I hope we get to cruise together some time in the future. Right now, we are not planning another 7 night cruise until the new ships start to sail. I hope I can hold out that long.

That reminds me, we have done the 3 night and the 7 night. This is our first 4 night. Is there anything exciting and special about the 4 night cruise that I may not know about? We have never eaten at Palo. We are thinking aabout doing a brunch. We still have plenty of time to think about that but as you know I like to plan early.

Okay, it is time I got back to work.

No idea. I've done the three night - and even then it was work related so I think I've never really "cruised" with Disney. I know the sea day we can do Palo - and that getting brunch is like the hardest thing to do, but dinner is an option for us too. I'd like to find out a way of finding my dining rotation so I can do Palo on the night that our dinner is a dupilcate. I've also never eaten breakfast in a main dining room either, so I'm looking forward to that. (Weird, I know!)

Is it too late to offer my 2 cents?
Both dresses are very pretty and the ladies look lovely in both.
You can not miss either way.
I think my favorite is the solid color with the long sash to the left side and the little bit of tone on tone detailing at the bust.

DS is on Fall Break this week and next. :yay: (School started the last week of July)
DH and I decided to take off the first week with him. His school has some fun activities planned for next week. He is not as interested in the activities planned for this week.

Anyway, my goal this week is to keep our thread off of page 4. :surfweb:
I think that we surely are not the only early planners so I want them to be able to find us. The search feature has not worked for me most of the time but seems to be working better now.

I will be checking in again soon.

I agree. Here's my post to help the thread! :rotfl:

Thanks for the opinion! The girls ended up going with the solid colored dress. After many opinions, a lot of people ended up thinking that one of the girls looked "cut in half" with the dress that had the brocade waist.

I did do some cruise planning last week: I reserved a one way limo rental from the airport to the port! (Shhh!!! It's a suprise for DH2B!)

So I got a price on the limo service through the cruise line. ONE WAY is a whopping $350. I don't think so, especially when I can find all three legs of my trip for under $350 with a limo. CRAZY!

WOW! That is some price. Too rich for me.
Too many other Disney related things to spend that money on rather than transportation.

I went to my dentist office yesterday for my cleaning. The dentist is out of the office for the week. Guess where he is? Yes, he is on a Disney cruise. DH and I have been talking up the Disney cruise and WDW everytime we go to the office. One of the nurses did her first WDW trip last year & wants to do the cruise as well.

We are good for Disney's bottom line.

Dinner is almost ready, I had better get going.

I think I'll be booking through Sunray or Tiffany in the upcoming months. I still might do the limo service from the airport to pier and pier to UO hotel, and then probably just a towncar back to the airport. Given that DH2B wants to leave right away (even if I don't GRRR) I'm always afraid of missing the boat because I'm not booking airfare or transfers through the cruise line...especially in October.

If you think the limo is expensive, Disney is quoting me $425 PER PERSON for airfare. Plus another $50 for deviation to get the flights I want. I think I'll be booking on my own for that one too...

Hey guys! Long time, no talk!! Sorry! We just got back from our DL trip, it was great. :cool1: We did the Mickey's halloween treat and Fantasmic premium viewing, both of which were awesome. We were there for 5 days and the longest wait we had was 30 minutes for the finding nemo subs, so that always makes the trip more enjoyable!! We usually have AP's and go to DL a few times a year, but this was our last trip until after the cruise. :sad2: Our AP's expire in March, so we may squeeze in a quick weekend cheap trip in February, but I doubt it. We are in full cruise savings mode! Not renewing the AP's in 2008 will save us about $1000, so that's a big chunk to go towards the cruise! Now I can turn my full disney obsession towards the cruise....:rotfl2: Have a good week everyone!
