We never made it up to the meet and greet on Sunday but did participate in the FEs. DH and I spent Day 2 at CC making deliveries to everyone. It was fun to come back to the room every day/night and find something new. We decided to just do it all in one trip since it was dificult with me being in the wheelchair. Thank you to everyone who participated!
I'll let Mom2k4w tell her own trip report but I will let you know that all of us had a great time even though we had a few setbacks.
This was the first time (in 3 cruises) we did not have a navigator's verandah and didn't miss it as much as we thought we would. We had first seating PTTA and our wait staff were Galina and Shannon. Galina was excellent and very accommodating, especially with me. On the first day at CC, Galina saw me walking with my cane and immediately came over and helped me with my food tray. Then she brought over a plate of fresh fruit for me. She definitely went above and beyond and I need to send a note to
DCL about her. I would definitely request her again when we cruise.
Due to severe swelling in my legs, I was unable to do as much as I would like to have done. The rest of the group rented bikes and rode out to the tower while I stayed at the family beach. It was a very relaxing day.
Pirate Night: All of us (except DGS-12) got dressed up like pirates and that was fun but I didn't make it to the Pirate Party. I needed to get off my feet and rest but since I had seen it before that was okay by me.
We did get off the ship at Nassau for a short time. DGS stayed on board with the Oceaneers Lab. We walked around (well I was pushed around in my wheelchair by DH) and went to a few stores and really weren't bothered by the locals. We went to Tortuga Rum Cake Company, a few tee shirt tops, Simply Silver for jewelry and were back on board ship for lunch.
DH and I did get into a conversation with Captain Henri about the new ships and he informed us that he will be the Captain of one of the new ships and it will continue to do 3- & 4-night cruises. We are considering renewing our vows in 2010 but the 5-night, 2 trips to CC are much more expensive than this past cruise.
We spent two nights after the cruise at BCV. We were in rooms 427 & 429 (a 2-BR lock-off) and were able to see the Epcot fireworks from our room. That was nice. I do have to post on the DISabilities board because I can not tell you how rude people at WDW were to me because I was in a wheelchair! I was shocked!
Any way, this was fun and hope to see many of you on another cruise.
