October 31, 2009

I'm sure most of you are unaware of this, but on occasion I have some psychic abilities and can see a few things in the future. The other day I was privileged enough to see the newspaper headlines for Sunday Nov 8th. I figured it would be best for me to share it.

"Yesterday, a man on the Disney Magic was arrested for refusing to leave the ship. Apparently the 38 year old from New Jersey handcuffed himself to a railing. Fellow cruisers wearing black and orange shirts with a Halloween Haunts logo told our reporter that the handcuffs used in the incident were a novelty pair that were pink and fuzzy. As he was led off of the ship in a pair of police commissioned handcuffs he was heard muttering, 'Shell made me do it'. Police are now trying to locate Shell for questioning."

Only 2 more days of work for me. Last night to get all of the packing done, so unless things go smooth I probably will miss tonight's chat.

The camera/camcorder debate is over. We got a Canon G11. Thanks for all of the input.

The roll-n-pack works great. Just be careful of the weight. I was able to get alot more in our biggest suitcase, but then I was over 50 pounds. Had to shift some stuff to another suitcase to balance the weight.

Happy Birthday Shell!! Have a magical time at WDW.

Safe travels everyone.

ROTFL! Thanks, I needed a good laugh to get me through the day.:rotfl2:

Halloween question - so we know that the kids can trick-or-treat on the ship. Will they be given bags to put the candy into, or do we need to bring our own?

Good morning from Orlando, everyone. After a tiresome night of travel we made it safe and sound. Animal Kingdom is the plan today if I get everyone moving. A long day at EPCOT has left the newbies a little roughed up.

From the postings, it looks like everyone is geting ready, too. Keep packing and planning, we'll see you on Saturday.

You're too much!!!! We are going to have a great week! See you Saturday!

oops, I need some FE advice.

So, apparently, when we are starting our packing process last night, we noticed that we forgot to put one of the gifts into the bag we made. I don't want to spill the beans and give it away but lets just say it rhymes with rattoos.

So what should we do
1 - just forget about them
2 - open every bag and put them in
3 - just put them into the FE slots and no one will know they are from us
4 - use tape to stick them to the outside of the bag.

I am SO GLAD to see you finally getting some humor about this and have lost the negativity you had earlier in the week.. That must mean you are now if FULL vacation countdown mode..Ain't it great??

So glad you got there safely. Have a wonderful time in the parks. See you Saturday morning

Kelly, obviously you are more stressed than me. You quoted my question about the trick or treat bags but never responded to it.

As for the FE gifts and causing me stress and frustration, nice, very nice.

Actually I had to hit send cause my boss came up to my desk :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

They give you non generic T/T bags is what I was told. They have movie ads on them, not Halloween stuff.

Jeff: I know it's not easy..........................................

My oldest daughter made her sister and herself Trick or Treat bags. We made some additional iron ons when we made the t-shirts. Ironed them on and personalized them, and the plan is to leave them with guest services to have them signed by the characters, Last cruise we had pillow cases that they had personalized and then had all the characters autograph.

Jeff:

If you are concerned that know one would no that they are from you, i would use your options 2 and 4. Option 1 would mean that you had went to the trouble of getting something that you would not use and may not later.

If you use option three, even though people would not no they are specifically from you, people woul;d figure out at least that they are probably from one of the five or six people that are scheduled to deliver on your scheduled day!

We personally are not marking our gifts as specifically from us, as we are handling it as a secret santa type exchange. We are doing a cabin gift and then age appropriate gifts for the kids.

Nope, love the idea of them. Can't wait to get some. Besides, I think I can put all of my gifts into carry on bags so I don't have to pay an extra $30 to check them in.

Related - for anyone flying AIRTRAN, if your bag goes over 50 pounds, in addition to the $15 bag fee, you pay and extra $49 for that bag. If your bag is more than 70 inches (add the length, width and height), in addition to the $15 bag fee, you pay an extra $79!!!!!. All of this is odd, since we only paid $59 per person. That means bags could cost more than people. I wonder if you can just pay for a seat and put yours bags on it?

See that is why I travel SW. We are only paying 79 each way and get two free checked bags each!

I am thinking with this post of the next one we will hit page 190..

Come on folks, I think with 3 days left we can hit the 200 page mark..

LETS DO IT

Steve,

But....SW probably still charges for bags over 50 pounds and also for larger bags (probably same dimensions as airtran). We only pay $15 a bag, so we still are $5 cheaper than you.

Unlike the sound of everyone else...LOL I think you should do what is going to be less stressful on you. Personally, I would just stick them in the FE slots and call it done. They can be a secret gift from a secret cruiser...(Just my thought)...

I hope everyone has safe travels and looking forward to meeting at the Radisson on Friday. 2 days of work left for me before Michael and i fly out Friday morning and so excited that we will be in Florida by the afternoon.

See you all soon!!!!

National Chocolate Day is October 28 and a perfect day to celebrate the many health benefits of chocolate. While chocolate is primarily eaten for pleasure, there are potential health benefits of eating chocolate.

Cocoa or dark chocolate benefits the circulatory system. Other beneficial effects suggested include anticancer, brain stimulator, cough preventor and antidiarrhoeal effects.

Personally, I plan to celebrate this day every day next week!!

Thanks. I didn't know what to have for dinner tonight. We didn't do any food shopping this week since we don't want things to go bad while we are away.
Chocolate for dinner it is!

Just a few more hours and we will be on the road to sunny FL from NY (long Island). So excited, the trip down is going to be great too, seeing family and old friends is always a great way to start a vacation!! Safe travels to all and we look forward to meeting everyone on the ship Sat!!

Take care,
Alyson

P.S. They do have hair dryers in the rooms, right?
