What a morning.
So I was driving to work this morning in 47 degree weather and rain. I heard a Bob Marley song on the radio and just has images of listening to it with warm weather on the ship with a nice drink in my hand.

Not 5 minutes later, my tire maintenance light went on. So I'm trying to figure out how to get the car in for a service asap (I drive a lot of miles each day). Doing this isn't easy since we haven't packed a thing and need to do a ton of laundry.

Now for the kicker. After my drive, I'm sitting on train and Holly calls. She skidded hit a curb and got a flat tire!. What are the odds. So now we have 2 tire issues.

Is it Friday yet???? With each passing day I need this vacation more and more.

Julia's class trip to the farm is today...rain or shine. Wish us luck that we don't catch an ugly cold right before the trip! Still not sure how pumpkin picking and a hayride can occur in a downpour but we'll see!

Sorry, I just had to vent. I'd call her out sick today but I am responsible for 3 other students and it's not fair to them

Good Morning everyone! It is a rainy, yucky, day here. Wish I could stay home and pack and play on DisBoards instead of going to work.

I am having a really hard time concentrating on my work here today

Happpy to hear that your mom was able to make arrgements to cahnge her flight.

You mentioned a credit card travel notification, could you explain that a little.

Steve - You need to contact your credit card companies and bank and let them know you will be out of the US and may be using your Credit Cards/ATM cards. If you don't do this and you try to use these cards outside the US and they see unusual activity (ie Cozumel and Gr Caymans) they may deny the charges. This isn't a problem for DCL charges though as those go through as Disney/Kissimmee Florida..

I do it more for in-case there is an emergency and I need to use them that my planning to actually shop with them. wink wink hahaha

That is how they pick cranberry's by flooding the fields and floating the cranberries. It would work the same way for pumpkins I guess.

Nothing like a fall tradition of bobbing for pumpkins!!

Sorry to hear about your tire issues, but don't fret about packing. How long can it be to pack the two bags maybe three that that you mentioned on the chat you are taking.

Just wanted to check in and wow everyone is so busy. I wonder why? LOL
Jeff, Friday will be here before you know it. I hope you get the tire situation fixed quickly. I'm sure all the rain we're having today doesn't help!

So today I am officially packing. I'm determined to get it all done while the kids are in school. Wish me luck.

Shell I am so happy to hear you talked with your son. Must have really put your mind at ease. Have a safe trip down tomorrow and hopefully we can meet up on Friday even if it's just for a little while. We leave the house 3:30 am Friday morning for our flight down so we will probably be a little exhausted by the end of the day.

And a big welcome to our new cruisemates and their families. This will be a great vacation!

I booked under a travel agent deal so we dont get our choice of cabins.
LOL, you get such a great deal, its worth it!
I booked today at about 2pm.
At that time I was told I would get assigned at check-in.
But as soon as I signed into my docs I had a Cat 10 cabin.
Forward on deck 7.
WAY forward, LOL, cant get any more forward....
so of course they can change us. But if not, I'm ok, I'm on the Magic!

That is great!! We will be driving through Savannah on Thursday evening, we are stopping in Kings Bay that night, we used to be stationed there!
I didnt see any Travel Agent deals for our cruise, I saw them for the cruises after us I thought! That is great though, I wish I was closer to FL to be able to take advantage of those specials!! Look forward to seeing you soon.

Well, I packed last night for Destiny and myself.
So, Only 2 more (the boys) to go......

That is great!! We will be driving through Savannah on Thursday evening, we are stopping in Kings Bay that night, we used to be stationed there!

Of course it doesnt apply to someone who has already booked....bummer!
It was a GREAT deal! They did have Nov. 14th advertised but it was booked...
I would have LOVED to have that cruise since Nov 14 is actually my DS bday.
We hardly ever get to use those discounts either since we are a family of 5.
You can only book 1 cabin under the TA special.
But it worked out this time since DH is starting a new job, he couldnt go.

2 maybe 3 suitcases? Seriously? How do you do that? I have 1 big suitcase, 1 garment bag and 4 carryons and that's with packing cubes. I am going to go through and see what I can reduce, but with a family of 5, Halloween costumes, Pirate costumes, suit, sportcoat, dresses and tons of shoes as well as everyday clothes I feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Maybe if I only packed one outfit for each of us and just did laundry everyday.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

3 suit cases for 4 people is plenty. We went to WDW last year in Feb. We brought stuff in case it was hot and stuff if it was cold. We did it in 2 suit cases.
I figure for the cruise 3 is plenty.

You just need to limit what you pack. Some days we aren't even packing shorts for. We plan on being in bathing suits all day, and then our pants etc for the evening.

also, packing is an art. Roll, don't fold. Put things in every nook and cranny. Packing shoes, then put 2 rolled up pairs of socks in them. When you layer into the suit case, alternate directions so it is not think on one side and thin on the other.
Garment bag, plenty of room at the bottom, not everything hangs the entire length, put stuff below it.

The only reason that my family of 4 can't fit in 3 suit cases is these damn FE gifts. And trust me, I'm spreading them out in every direction I can. I'm not taking 4, I won't do it.

I stayed home from work today. I am going to go through the suitcases again and take some out. I can wash if I have to. There is no way we could wear 1/2 the stuff I packed. Only 4 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boy do I have nerve calling in sick since I am off starting Friday. Michelle

Rolling is definitely the key to packing. If did not have costumes and FE stuff, my son and I would be in 2 suitcases.

Roll YES.
It prevents wrinkles.
It takes up less space.
And it allows things to be packed tighter and closer together.

I don't roll everything. Mostly shirts and shorts.

Thanks. I was ... but then, Jaydin woke up crying because her legs hurt. Such is life. Who needs sleep, anyway? LOL!! It was quite a night all the way around.


We're leaving around 7. Should be in Orlando around 4.

It seriously sounds like you resent the FE gifts. That's a shame. It's suppose to ADD to the trip, experience, and vacation, not cause more grief.
