Hi sorry to butt in...
We did both! LOVED the Palo brunch & have set up to do it again - on Halloween!
Also, did the Pirate sail & snorkel - it was really fun, but we are passing on it this time.
Will post pics later of both if you want!!

We got our excursions & resies too! Palo on the last night, dolphin swim in PV & Harbor Cruise with scenic stop! Floored!!!!!!!! :cool1: 74 days till we board!! 73 days till I'm Mrs. Edwards!!

Hi Cindy!! Nice to "meet" you!! :flower3:
I'm Barrie. My son, Jaden is really looking forward to meeting Nikolas. :yay:
He said, "He can be a FRIEND that I haven't even met yet!!!"

Here are some pics from the pirate sail;

It was a BLAST!!! The boat ride out to the beach can be a bit rough - bring a seasickness remedy. My son wore sea bands and I took a dramamine & drank club soda, which helped a lot!! Other than that, the meals were pretty good, if you're a drinker (alcohol or soda!!) the open bar is generous & the day on the little beach was great. There is a stream with hermit crabs, snorkeling, a banana boat, a treasure hunt... lots to do.

Thanks for the pics Barrie ! We are so excited to go on the pirate ship ! We are going to buy those sea band thanks for the tips. Nikolas is so excited to meet jaden, I told him his birthday is that week and he said "what are we going to get him for his birthday " so if you can tell us what he likes " like toy story or cars so we can get him a little something " thanks again :yay:

When are you doing the Harbor cruise? Maybe we'll be on that excursion together!!!

It is exciting to see our thread is becoming more active. We have been busy with health issues so haven't been here much, but things are back on track now.

Left a message with Dorothy, at DCL special requests, to make sure we are on her list for scheduling the private mixology session. Will let you know when I hear back from her.

Have all of you signed in on the roll call log? Looks like we have 14 cabins participating in the FE, 28 adults and 14 kids.

Ok, I'm a dork. I was thinking of a different room when I had our room in mind to volunteer to host the message board. I apologize. Our room is on 7 right by the forward elevators on the starboard side. If anyone else wants to host the message board, go for it! :thumbsup2 Otherwise, we can still have it. It'll just be way forward..

It is great of you to offer to host the message board. Your cabin is more centeral then ours.

So my bf (Brett) and I were talking about the cruise and we thought it might be fun to do a casual football pool for the college football games during that week - what do you guys think? Brett said he will arrange the whole thing, it would be a very easy sheet listing all the games, and whoever picks the most wins would win the pool - we thought $5 a sheet and kids could play too because it would be a matter of picking the winners, no football knowledge needed! Brett would check the scores and deliver the pot to the winner on Saturday night (the last night of the cruise).

Just a thought! We love football and thought there might be some like-minded folks sailing with us :)

:grouphug:

You might want to add a column to the roll call log so people can indicate their interest.

Thanks for posting the pics - looked like fun. We saw the ship the last time we were there and heard it was great fun.

Ok I added a column on the spreadsheet so we can see what kind of interest there is for a college football pool during the cruise. Go ahead and add yourself if you are interested! The spreadsheet can be found in the first post on page one. GO TEAM! :cheer2:

Ok, rookie mistake. Since we have late dinner every other night, I booked Palo at 7:00 thinking it would still be light out and close to our regular dinner time. But now that I'm thinking about it, with sunset coming earlier in October will it be dark by then and we will miss the view? Maybe we should go with an earlier time. What are your thoughts? I still have time to change our reservations.

Hi again everyone. Just popping my head in to say a hello.
Finally caught up with the conversation here last night... then promptly passed out! :cat:
Cindy - that is so sweet of Nikolas to want to get Jaden a birthday gift! What wonderful parents he must have to be so thoughtful!
Since there are so far so few kids in the FE, I am looking forward to doing something really cool & special for them... don't know yet WHAT????? though!
Glad to hear that you guys are better Val & Bob. I recognize your names from the Hawaii cruise thread. Thanks for doing the shirts for that one. We'll be more active there as the time draws closer.
And Molly, thanks for doing the one for us on this cruise!!! Did you get my Paypal? We also live in the Valley! If you want to plan a little local "hello" beforehand, I'm all for it! :wizard:
So... Stephanie - How's the wedding planning going? Your dress & bridesmaid dresses are lovely! So glad that you got the cake situation worked out! :bride:
And everyone else... How's it going????
Do you guys know when Pirate night is going to be on this cruise?? When we sailed on this cruise in Feb/March it was on the 3rd night, I think...
Is everyone dressing up for Halloween?? Disney or non-Disney??
I am so excited to go... play... and meet you all!!

Finally I'm caught up on the thread. I'm Julie, and my family just booked this cruise and we are so excited! I have two girls, 13 and 11

Woohoo, a fellow Valley girl! We live in Van Nuys, and I would love to grab a coffee or an ice cream or ? We are going to the D23 Expo this weekend, but maybe the following weekend or sometime in the evening? Excited!! Email me if you would like to set up a time to meet: dzfitch@yahoo.com

And YES! I did get your payment :) Thank you for being so prompt!

Now the big project... to actually MAKE my FE gifts :rotfl:

I know what I want to do and have most of the supplies (need to pick up some more as we have more cruisers joining the FE!) But to actually sit down and do it :confused3

Still working on it

LOL!!! I grew up in Van Nuys. Right down the street from the old VN Drive-In! We're in Northridge now.
We were going to go to D23 but it's my Mom's birthday tomorrow, so we're off to Pismo to go camping.
Would LOVE to grab a whatever - since you're in VN - maybe Zankou chicken or Lido's pizza???
Are you guys AP holders??? Maybe a pre-cruise DL day - or 2....
I'll email you!!!

Hey Julie,

My girls just did double back flips! (Ok, not really) Autumn will be 11 and Summer will be 13 when we sail. The excitement keeps growing!

Although I AM pretty crafty - for me time is an issue. We're probably purchasing ours - but attempting to make it something custom and unique - CREATED just for Us!!
Don't quite know WHAT yet, though!!!
