October 30, 2011 Wonder - A Haunting on the High Seas

Ears! Boas!! I am so far behind!!!!! I don't know will be able to do ears on my door, I am not sure how to even do that... if I can I am totally doing the Sombrero too! But I am totally in for any and all activities!

I already have a tiara (don't all princesses own one :lmao:) but I will need to get a boa. I am so ready for this trip! I am going to be swamped right up until the day I leave though, so I am getting panicky. Thankfully i have most of the FE stuff taken care of and a plan in place for the rest as soon as we get a final count. Speaking of which I heard back fro gradysmommy and she assures me it will be done in time...

I also ordered a pillowcase and a tote to have signed. When we take them to guest services, do we take markers too or do they have those?

Regarding when to close the FE list, what ever everyone else wants is fine with me.

Regarding the Champagne Girls acivity. Do you all want to bring your favorite champagne (or some sparkling beverage) or do we want to share the cost of having DCL bring some? I'll go along with whatever, have done both.

How pricey is it if DCL provides it? I am fine with either.

I tried to get a list of wine to print but no luck. Champagne cost is from $26 to $225. Of course there is a markup.

Hi - we will be joining for our first cruise and first Disney cruise - and we just learned from some friends about the Fish Extender tradition. How do we sign up? How many people are involved, etc? We want to get the full Disney-enthusiast experience if we aren't too late to join and it won't be too overwhelming without much time to plan.

Welcome Jeffrey and Todd! It is not too late to sign up for the FE - the cutoff is Oct. 7. If you are signing up go to the first page of this thread and click on the link to the google doc to put in your particulars (if you haven't done so already). Val has been confirming everyone who had expressed interest already.

Glad you are joining us and glad you want to do the FE.:woohoo:

Jeffrey & Todd,

Welcome, glad you are joining us. As Stephen indicated, on page one, the first posting, is a link to a spreadsheet reflecting the DISboard team on this cruise. 21 cabins have signed up for the FE exchange, all but 3 have confirmed they are still with us.

If you have any questions that your friends didn't answer or want to know more about our group, just let us know - we are all very friendly.

Hi! Count us in! My DS Jonathan and I will be on this cruise too! Can't wait! We weren't planning to cruise again so soon but couldn't pass up the restricted guaranteed room rates! Still waiting for room assignment though. Anyone else with a guaranteed room receive a room number yet? I would love to participate in the FE, mixology, and t-shirt. I'll add our info to the spreadsheet next. See you soon - 31 days to go! Woo-hoo!:dance3:

I am so excited to see people still joining!!!! It's going to be an awesome trip!!!

I haven't heard anything back on the Meet and Greet location yet, but it will be just before the Muster Drill so at least we know what time!!

It's almost time!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Hi everyone!!! Just wanted to post a friendly reminder that the last day to order t-shirts will be Saturday, October 1st!!! Shirts are $8 each. I prefer payment through paypal, my email is mradmiralboom@yahoo.com but I will also accept cash at the meet-n-greet on the first day :)

13 pounds lost, 4 more to go!!!

I have a few questions, and I apologize if you've already discussed, but 47 pages of posts is a lot to look thru.

What is the recommendation for the little "gifts" that you put in the FE for each person? How do we know which day to put them in? Is there a recommended size for each little pocket?

How will we be informed if anyone's room has been changed?

Any other suggestions?

Another question - what is the recommended tip for the spa? Would it just be 18-20% of the cost? Other than drinks/bar tender tips, what should we be thinking about for tips?

Never mind - I just found a whole 'nother thread on this - so I'm good on ideas.

Hopefully if anyone's room changes last minute, they can update us at the Meet and Greet... But you bring up a good point... Val how does this usually get handled? :goodvibes You are our resident FE expert!

We talked about having a central location to receive updated stateroom information. If you like, I can volunteer my door. I am on deck 7 midship just to port of the center elevators so I am easy to find. I also have a two pocket FE but there is only one of me. We can bring the spreadsheet and make changes if need be (during our meet & greet) then see if a CM will make copies for us. I can then place the copies in the pocket of my FE and folks can stop by an pick them up. This way everyone will know where I am and will have no excuses for not delivering FE's to me. :rotfl2:

Anyway, that is an idea similar to what we did on my last cruise. And it worked out okay.

I am open to other ideas and suggestions. And I seem to remember that someone may have already volunteered their door?

70+ pages IS a lot to read through!

Stephen

I just heard back from DCL concerning the mixology session - not exactly good news.

Hi Valerie,

Per Dorothy that things changed since the last time you requested the private mixology session is now $20.00 per person. It must be a minimum of 25, maximum of 50 guest. Please let me know how you feel about this.
Thank you,

I don't think we have 25 people interest, more like 15.
