I think that we might leave for the port after breakfast. Definitely have your docs ready. Go to the line first. Then have your kids stay there with your stuff. Then go check in. It will get you closer if you really want to get on the ship early.

Kim - We also leave for the port pretty early. We really enjoy the excited atmosphere of everybody getting ready to cruise! We typically hang out for 2 hours or so before boarding, and just visit with everyone. Since we don't have to wait in line, we get to enjoy walking around the port and talking to everyone!! So we're usually there right when they open.

T&P - That's a nice gesture... might just take you up on it! I am not a Bushwhacker guy myself, but they gots cold beer there too! ;)

Well, I guess I better make a decision on where to stay before the cruise. We were all set to stay at the Poly... but $500 A NIGHT? They must be smoking some of that Kona Gold. We really love staying there, but that is pretty outrageous. So I better figure something out.

Off I go to check out more prices!!

trishy,

how wouuld i find out when the dvc party is or do i have to wait till i get on board....

Well, it's been a while since we've been on the Eastern, but I looked up some threads and found this one (by a very experienced DVC cruiser) who posted this:

If you are DVC members and want to go to the full DVC Member party I wouldn't do Palo Brunch on the first sea day (or on Sunday) on the Western.

I'm assuming this means the DVC party would be on Sunday on the Eastern. It's usually around 10is-11ish. Depending on how many DVC people are onboard, they might have 2 sessions. If you're cruising on points (even if part of that was paid in cash), you will get an invitation delivered to your room. If you didn't use any points, you might have to let the DVC staffers know you're there to get the invitation. They use to have a booth on Deck 5, I believe.

Kim: :flower: Happy Belated Anniversary!! :flower:

OK- DCL website is not my friend! I completely forgot Monday was my day to do ressies online. DUH - I've only been planning for what...a year....

Could not get IE to show me any of the pages. Total waste of time.

Reserved my DH the 12-metre regatta, and well...thats it. Thought we'd do Palo on Thursday - adults only at the end of the crusie....apparently, everyone else had the same brilliant idea.

Good to know we are cruising with a ship full of geniuses!! :rotfl2:

So - we are going to take the California approach to cruising and see what we get when we get there. How laid back can you be!? :cool1:

Oh well - its all good - I'm going on a 7-day Disney cruise!! :Pinkbounc

quick question . i was wondering where you pay for the excursions you reserve.. do they apply them to the card you leave at check in

 Sean...

You will use your KTTW card for everything on the ship...it all goes on your stateroom account.

Beano & I make a habit of checking our stateroom bill every few days...that way there is no surprise at the end of the cruise.

Hugs,

RonnieJo :flower:

:rotfl2: Now thats funny Sean :rotfl2:

No way man, not us... :rotfl:

Glad to help...

Not wanting to freak everyone out.... :scared1: :faint:

RJ: I was looking through a scrapbook my friend did for her January cruise and in it was her account statement. OK - $1800 worth. But there are 6 of them. Any yes, that is mostly alcohol and excursions.

I noticed charges on there for Pinocchio's and 2 for room service. Now she admits to not questioning anything on there but insists the Pinocchios charge is for alcohol and the room service people charged her for popcorn to the tune of about $25!! Must be some popcorn! Special mickey shaped kernals or something! I thought Pinocchios served hot dogs...???

Being the Disney queen ;) ;) does any of this sound right to you? What exactly gets put on your onboard account? Do you put tips on there or do you pay cash?

BTW still looking for the perfect shoes....... :cutie: They have to be out there somewhere!!

ronniejo,

could you please the night on the ship i.e. causal fornmal and so on. i forgot to print them out

Johnna:

room service is an extra fee. Pinocchio's serves pizza, but it is right next to the bar...same counter. I am sure it was probably an alcohol charge. As for tips, towards the end of the cruise you'll recieve a paper to fill out with your server, asst. server, room steward etc. on it. You turn it in to guest services with your tip amounts written in. They will in turn print out little coupons that you put in supplied envelopes and give to the cm's at the end of the cruise.

Sean:

here ya go...

Saturday October 29th - casual
Sunday October 30th - formal
Monday October 31st - casual
Tuesday Nov. 1st - pirate/tropical
Wednesday Nov. 2nd - casual
Thursday Nov. 3rd - semi-formal
Friday Nov. 4th - casual

Tinkryansmom, We have Palo Ressies for 2 on thursday evening @ 8:30 and if we can add you on we would love for you to join us. I don't want to shock anyone but I wasn't going to even make the ressies because I didn't see anything on the menu that really caught my eye, except for the chocolate souffle, but I figured what the heck I can always cancel them. When we meet up I'll get your room number and see what we can do , if you are interested that is.
Beano and Ronnie Jo you ARE the King and Queen and that's why your in the big guys suite ! :worship: ;) ;)

Good morning everyone.

Ronniejo I thought room service was included except drinks???? Also can you tip on your KTTW card for room service or do you need cash in your room for that???

Kim

 Happy Wednesday to All...

Kim:

my bad. room service is free...tip is not, and yes you use your kttw card....as far as I know there is no place on the ship that uses cash. Sounds weird huh?...no cash :rotfl2:

Sharon:

Thanks for the second motion on the crowning! But we're just luckey to have been able to get the suite. :shamrock:

Hugs,

RonnieJo :flower:
