October 26, 2013 HalloWonder Cruise

CatDenver, wow that's awesome that they are celebrating their 2nd as well! We did do the FE Exchange on our first cruise so I have a general idea of how to do it. I don't mind creating a Google Doc or something like that to start a list going. I cannot wait!!!

Their 2nd anniversary is on August 20th but we'll still take an evening to celebrate it! They live in California and we're in Colorado so we're not close enough to celebrate with them the actual day.

BTW, just added my stepson Patrick (32) to the trip so we're making it a real family trip.

We're all excited! I'm hoping more people post here soon!

If there's anything I can do to help with FE planning, let me know. Thanks! :-)

We are currently on this cruise too. I'm wondering if anyone has ever done a Halloween cruise before on the wonder? It sounds like there have been trick or treat events in the past, but in 2012 there were lots of reports of NO trick or treating...

If we can't figure it out, anyone want to set up a DIS trick or treat? we could just schedule an hour or so to go to different staterooms and ToT? Or maybe set up "stations" around the ship? I'll even organize it if we decide to do that!

Hello,

We hare now booked on this cruise! My husband, 3 kids...my sister, her husband and their 2 kids as well as my parents. One big family trip from my parents as they are now in their 80's and will most likely begin to slow down on their travelling soon.

Very excited, as this is a surprise for all of the children :yay:

Also wondering what kinds of things to expect for Halloween on board the Wonder?

7 months to go...

Hi Nette, I've read mixed reviews as well on ToTing. My DS is over it now but my DD (9) is excited about ToTing on the ship. I had planned on making Halloween treat bags for the kids in the FE group since it wasn't clear what Disney would have planned.

I just read a trip report where the FE group set up stations around the ship and that seemed to work well. I like your idea of setting an hour to go to different staterooms. That seems a more controlled and orderly way to do it without having people parked on a particular open area on the ship.

Welcome Rozzy!!! You have quite the entourage too! We started out with just my husband and 2 kids. Now we're including our older DS and DD as well as DS-I-L.

I don't know how you can keep it a surprise. I thought about it for a nanosecond and realized I couldn't keep a secret that long. How old are the kiddos that will be sailing? My 9 year old DD is very anxious to meet someone her age!

Very excited as well! 220 days to go but who's counting? :cool1:

Hi! We have this one on hold. Disney and Halloween have to be great! We just got off the Magic last month and love Disney! I asked when I booked and it sounds like they do costume contests and cook things like spider cakes and have Halloween movies playing in the stateroom and at the funnel vision... Sounds like the dress up the ship too.. :cool1:

Thanks :) LOL seriously excited! My sister spilled the beans to her DD who just turned 10 today! Her DS (8 when we sail) has no idea. My kids at sailing will be: DS (5), DS (6) and DD (1). My niece and your daughter will surely become ship buddies. I'm sure my niece will be happy to hang around with a girl her age instead of her younger brother and younger boy cousins!

In the meantime, I am scarfing down all the info and insight that I can find on anything Disney Wonder!

We have never done a Disney Cruise before and look forward to all aspects of the trip, especially some actual adult time :woohoo:

We just went ahead and booked yesterday. Toured the Crown Princess in Galveston today and glad we booked Disney... :goodvibes We'll cruise Princess later but so glad we will get another cruise on Disney first!!! :cheer2:

Most excellent, Mekamax! :cool1: This is going to be a blast!

My DH and I just booked on this cruise! I am so excited! This will be our 1 year anniversary. We went on the Fantasy for our Honeymoon. We are bringing my MIL along she will be in her own room.
Please sign me up for the FE and I will find out if my MIL wants to sign up as well!

Thanks Catherine! :) Have you ever done an outside Guarantee before? Chance of getting a window verses port holes??

Welcome Kjack!! What a great way to celebrate an Anniversary! :thumbsup2

Is anyone dressing up for Halloween?? pirate:

Are we allowed to ask about Travel Agents on this board? Is there an advantage to using one? Better luck with upgrades??

My family and my sister's family would like to sign up for the FE exchange as well. We are already trying to figure out what to give and what kind of style FE to make! I have itchy fingers and want to buy my gifts already but of course, we don't know how many people and what ages and genders will be participating :scratchin

All of the kids will for sure be dressing up for Halloween and I think my husband and I will as well, but I can't speak for my sister, her husband and my parents. My guess is no for them.

We are already so excited and my husband laughs at me b/c I am already trolling the boards for magnet, shirt, FE ideas, as well as tips, especially travelling with our youngest, 17 months at time of sailing.

But seriously, it requires lots nad lots of planning, especially since I am generally the designated planner, packer and document holder ::yes::

Anyway, 7 months to go now!

We cannot wait for our next Disney Cruise! We are interested in joining the FE Group.

We're aboard also!! We did the Fantasy previously with the great DVC deal last June and it was a blast!

Count us in for the FE if it gets up and running!

This will be our first time going out of Galveston. We'll be flying into Hobby and would appreciate suggestions on transfers to the port area. Wish Disney still had a transfer option! :thumbsup2

Mekamax, I've never cruised and only recently learned what GTY was and I still don't fully understand how it works.

Dress up for Halloween? Well, let me tell you a bit about our family. My husband is the librarian at our kids' school and has dressed up as Cat in the Hat, a leprechaun, a Mardi Gras jester :joker:, Moses (it's a Catholic school), and Uncle Sam. Every 4th of July, we dress up for the neighborhood parade. We've done the Spirit of '76, Washington's family, Captain America and Wonder Woman, and a colonial family. So the answer would be yes, we're dressing up for Halloween! :lmao: I think we're the only family I know that has a costume closet! pirate:

Welcome SwtGreens and MrBean! There will definitely be an FE. I've already made mine and am starting on the gifts. Since I'm making many of the gifts I wanted to start now.

To Rozzy's point, we need to know who is participating in the FE. I can start building a list based on what we know so far and put it out here. From our entourage it will be:

BJ (DH) & Cat (me, the DW)
Michael (DS) 12
Catie (DD) 9
Nicole (DD) 32 & Kalen (DSIL) 28

My stepson Patrick will be with us as well but given that he's 32, I doubt he'll get involved. I'll check with him. Ya never know!

You can see the age disparity with the kiddos. I started young and finished old! :lmao:
