October 26, 2013 HalloWonder Cruise

Are we allowed to ask about Travel Agents on this board? Is there an advantage to using one? Better luck with upgrades??

I am actually a travel agent for disney (8 years). If you need any assistance I would be glad to help. I wouldn't say you have better luck of an ungrade, but you do have someone that watches over your reservation and looks for deals and upgrades for you to rebook you on.

Kjack - I can transfer the booking within 30 days.. But honestly most T/As don't want to bother with a reservation for 2 - they want BIG numbers... :confused3 Do you have a website???

CatDenver - great! I want to dress up and if I could find a cool way to make hubby a pirate I actually might get him to do it.... pirate:

Mr. Bean - Supershuttle I mentioned on the last cruise board like this and the lady did take it from IAH airport with her 2 daughters and their 5 kids and said it worked great. She said she researched and it didn't have the best reviews but she had no problems. I see them in their vans at the port all the time when we get off of cruises picking people up for the airport. It is actually about 45 min without traffic to Galveston from Hobby (closer than IAH) so it is a long distance but Galveston is a great place to spend the night before hand.

If anyone wants any advice on Galveston please yell. I've only been on Disney once but have cruises out of Galveston for 9 years and live close enough to go down for a night here and there too.... :yay: :wave2:

Yes I do it's www.mousemadesimple.com I am sorry you have had no luck with ta's. I book cruises for everyone I just booked a 1 person cruise. So if you need anything let me know!

Welcome SwtGreens and MrBean! There will definitely be an FE. I've already made mine and am starting on the gifts. Since I'm making many of the gifts I wanted to start now.

To Rozzy's point, we need to know who is participating in the FE. I can start building a list based on what we know so far and put it out here. From our entourage it will be:

BJ (DH) & Cat (me, the DW)
Michael (DS) 12
Catie (DD) 9
Nicole (DD) 32 & Kalen (DSIL) 28

My stepson Patrick will be with us as well but given that he's 32, I doubt he'll get involved. I'll check with him. Ya never know!

You can see the age disparity with the kiddos. I started young and finished old! :lmao:

My mother in law would like to join the FE as well. She also has a GTY room Pam (DMOM) I probably should not disclose her age lol!

We also have friends traveling with us. The would also like to join they may make a disboard sign on but they have a GTY room as well and DH is Matt (32?) And DW Jocelyn (31?)

Just booked this cruise! It will be me (31), mom (54), and my son (4). Super excited!!!!

Welcome DisneyMama! I love the pirate costumes in your attached picture. Did you make your own or did you purchase them like that? I haven't quite figured out what to do about pirate costumes.

Catherine

Hi Disneymama! Glad you are here. I liked the pirate outfits too. Mine was just put together last year and want a better one this year - did you make yours as they look cool! Thinking of getting a friend to make one for me - are you dressing up for Halloween or wearing the pirate outfit? :mickeyjum I'm thinking of just wearing the pirate outfit again... Anybody think they may make it the same night as pirate night for Halloween? Hope not... I was TWO parties!!

I just booked for the Halloween cruise out of Galveston for myself, my husband, DD (9) & DS (6 when sailing). We are excited to go on on second cruise. The first was the Mexican Riviera on the Dream. Another family will be joining us. I am crafty & interested in the fish extender exchange.

Greetings, everyone.

We are reserved for the 10/26/13 sailing as well - great to see some fellow Coloradoans on this trip. Have sailed twice on RCI, first Disney cruise. Looking forward to it.

Break in the rookie - what is an "FE"? Thanks!!

Welcome pigs4tm and Davemedic! FE stands for Fish Extender, Dave. There's a link somewhere on this board that explains it. Once I find it I'll post it.

I bought the costumes off Amazon. I got lucky that my son and I kind of matched! I think I might rewear mine this year. Not sure. They better not make pirate night and Halloween the same night! I think I'm going to sew my son a Prince Charming outfit and I'll be Cinderella!

Just booked the Wonder Halloween cruise! It will be me, DH and 11 yr old daughter. We were on the inaugural Galveston cruise on the Magic and can't wait to sail on the Wonder again. :cool1:

DH and I are both really excited to see Key West for the first time!

We just booked this cruise for my husband, 3 kids (11, 9, 4), myself and my parents. I promised my kids they wouldn't miss out on ToTing so here's hoping the Wonder will be doing a little something along those lines....

FE = Fish Extender There is a Fish as a mailbox by your cabin door and the extender is something that is sewn with pockets for more room or to "extend" the mailbox so people can put gifts in it. :yay:

WELCOME EVERYBODY!! We went to Key West once but it was 11 years ago and are looking forward to going back. Really excited about going to Castaway Cay for the first time!!!

That would be so cute to have him as Prince Charming and you Cinderella!! :flower1:

YAY! Glad to see that there will be other kids that will be around the same ages as mine and my sister's! Between us there are 3 boys who will be 5, 6 and 8 at sailing and 2 girls who will be 17 months and 10 years :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh, the idea of Cinderella and a little Prince Charming is adorable! Can't wait to see it! :goodvibes

I have heard that there is some TOTing onboard, but I also have heard of DIS Meet groups doing their own TOTing as well. I have heard that they set up a time opposite from the DCL TOTing, so if DCL's was in the afternoon, the DIS was in the morning. There was one Halloween cruise where the meet group set up stations around the ship for the kids/parents to collect treats, but I personally like the idea of visiting all of the member cabins b/c it is more like Hallowwen at home ;)

I am so excited to go to CC for the first time as well! This is our first Disney cruise but I have a feeling that we will do it again sooner rather than later ;) I am looking forward to beach time with the kiddies and looking forward to having family with us so that there will be extra eyes and hands to help reign our 17 month old in :rotfl:

We went to Key West on our MSC cruise in 2010 and we got married on Smather's Beach. We are going to renew our vows on our stop there in October :bride:. SInce there isn't much to do in KW west for kids, we will probably just let them play on Smather's Beach for a while after the renewal and then head back to the ship with plenty of time to prepare for dinner. However, I WILL have to try frozen key lime pie on a stick this time around!!

BTW I just realized how to multi quote...sorry for so many individual postings!

Do we have a list started somwhere?

Not yet.. I was hoping one of the more experienced cruisers would get it going, think I saw a pretty good one in someone's tag line from a previous cruise that used Google docs to track it. :thumbsup2
